Oh damn this game... I remember Robocop 3. I did play this game in my childhood. I loaned it from my friend. Man I was excited. Well it's Robocop. After I played this game I was angry. I was pretty terrible in this game & I couldn't get very far. Thanks for making this video. You brought some nice memories back to my mind. :)
I think that NES version is longer than this If it wasn't so short, then it will be more easy but fuck no This is why Robocop vs Terminator is so much better
Man, it looks like the only good Robocop game for the consoles of that time was Robocop vs Terminator, Sega Genesis version. The rest was really bad like this one. I wonder why Data East did not make ports of Robocop 1 and 2 from Arcade. Those are without doubt the best 2D games of Robocop!
Probably because of the licensing issue. They would have to register the license for use on the Sega and Nintendo 16bits. And the games were already a couple of years old so ports on the consoles might not have sold well.
@@Craudio171 Can't say that that was the best studio to own them. Ocean's games tended to be pretty average in general. Most of the movie tie in games they did always tended to be platformers or a mix of mini games like with Terminator 2 on the Amiga/Atari ST/PC. It would have been better if another studio had grabbed the license. But which one at the time? If not Ocean it would probably have been Acclaim/LJN. Would have been interesting what Capcom or Konami could have done with the IP.
@@TheDutchGhost I agree with you. But imagine not only Capcom or Konami but Virgin Games taking the IP! I think they made a good job with "Robocop vs Terminator" for Sega Genesis.
@@Craudio171 Unfortunate that game did come after the average Robocop tie in games on NES and other consoles. But if Virgin Games could have made Robocop tie in games to the movies on the level of quality of RvsT these would have turned out better than the Ocean entries. But it should definitely not have been the studios who handled most of the movie tie-in games at the time. There is a good reason why for a long time us gamers felt that movie tie in games were terrible.
Haha, Satan robot boss on level 2...jumping rats causing damage on level 4...jumping sword armed ninja robots as final boss who for some reason I cant use my weapons on.
That intro tune and audio in general definitely sounds better on the SNES version, but I think the Genesis version of the game is a notch better than the SNES version in some ways. Not that it should be in pretty much any of those ways as far as I can tell, outside of the default horizontal resolution/view. But I think it is.
Actually, this is the easiest part of the whole game. P.S So...would you call any bullet hell game a touhou-like? There are many other great games in the genre like mushihimesama, ikaruga or danmaku unlimited.

This feels like a game where the main aim of development was to get it out as quickly and cheaply as possible to cash in on the license.
Instantly recognisable Matt Furniss music!
Saludos capo
The soundtrack is the best part of this game, honestly
Puede que el gameplay sea más o menos decente y el juego sea corto pero ese soundtrack... es hermoso, delicia auditiva
Only one word to sum up this game... on ANY difficulty setting: IMPOSSIBLE
Noob. I finished that game when I rent this from a videostore, back in 90s.
@@daveshen0880 If you finish this one, you're really that good. The difficulty is ruthless.
@@JudgmentStorm Ok. I rented this game from videostore. You say at this game has ruthless difficulty. I respect what you wrote.
And you know why this complexity? The point is in the bad hands of developers and the absence of beta testers.
@Shelltoon I beat it on Nintendo. with game genie. not too bad. I agree with you on sega. I can't make it past the jetpack level
Because of the overwhelming difficulty, I never realised this game is so short. Just 15 minutes worth of gameplay.
Right I play this for hours like wtf

The sheer mastery on display here is incredible.
devs: just put on some rats that take more damage than a rocket
And yet...watching this was way more entertaining than watching the movie :P.

agree. never beat this. Beat it on NES. That one has cool game genie codes

@@TheDutchGhost Yes, I found out shortly after that the rights to publish Robocop solo games for the consoles belong, if I not mistaken, to Ocean.

Thought this game was very bad when I played it back in the day on the SNES. They could of done this a whole lot better.
jweinrub The MD version of Robocop vs Terminator was the best Robocop game by far.
Both versions looks the same in my opinion
how did the last ninja die??????

Looks like Robocop 1 the arcade game! Cool! Like!
At least Matt Furniss' music was decent.
Played this as a kid off and on, from Blockbuster. Always wondered who the little midget is that tickles ED-209 awake.
I loved and hated this game growing up! LOL
