I am glad to find something on here about medieval , (original) Its a great game and I still love playing it , I have Rome and Barbarian invasion and like to play them as well, but there is just something cool about this game that keeps me playing. I never got to play online because I have not figured out how to do it exactly lol
you never tried Medieval II or Shogun 2? They were both great games and have a better user interface by a long shot. Not to mention Shogun 2 has a lot more to offer overall as a game. I got this game and never got into it really. The music and campaign map were kinda cool but I could not stand the battle UI
Well that seemed like an unusual battle tactic, not really sure what I witnessed there. However, I do love that it is still possible all this time later to still find videos of the first Medieval total war game.
Good grief. This reminds me of a battle in Medieval 2 where I had forgotten about moving my generals out of a fortress. THere were five and I had next to no units. I was fighting two, full enemy armies. Somehow, I killed the two enemy generals without losing one of my own, and the enemies all fled.
+bladiumdragon In M2 once I had to defend a castle against much superior army, so I have put cannon behind the gates and when enemy crushed the gates and general first stormed in, I shot a cannonball into the mass, killed their general and they fled. That is my favorite tactic for defending a castle when fighting against superior force, just put soldiers on the flanks of the gates to keep enemies occupied while you shoot them with cannons or ballistae put 10-20 meters away from the gates, but looking straight into the "gates
Amazing game. I really think if they remake Medieval 1 with modern options (population mechanics for example), diplomacy, sieges, battles and keeping the same style map, it would be a much better game than M2TW
Sure. If you like it easy, RTW is a lot "better." Suicidal "AI" running around like a headless chicken - if they move at all. Hell, you can conquer the whole world with only using peasants.
This reminds me of how awesome the battle music was in earlier total war titles.
+Daniel S. Thinking the same thing. Going to get this game again, nostalgic

Good old days...
Played every single TW since Shogun..
This game is just wow. So many hours i've put into this. Many epic moments. Loved it.
Med total 1, pure class original and the best!!!
Total War is the best gaming franchise ever, since the first game

That's gutsy of you to risk your king in a battle of 14:1 odds...

If you consider playing this: The actual graphics are a lot better, it's just the vid that is grainy.
Nice man!
Are you using a mod? Because Bohemia does not exist as a faction in the game last I heard.
Could be the XL mod.
good
wyborny taktyk , król frajerów ...
Rome (original) is a lot better. I also play med. 2 total war and Empire total war but my favourite will always be Rome total war (2005 I guess)
Well this was before those games. This was the second total war game ever

Rome is so dumbed down compared to this game.
It really isn't. Having AI problems isn't really proof that the game is dumbed down, especially when it's the exact opposite in terms of content.
@@Omega4Productions RTW has more depth, but MTW 1 is more hardcore, not as easy as RTW
