What a fun place with a variety of plants, love the pink lemon tree. Teresita is so much fun to watch, she cracks me up. Another great video guys, thank you💚💚💚
Thanks so much! I think we had a blast too! 🌱Tere gets in trouble over and over again. And I loooooooove to tease her. lol! We enjoy our outings allot.
I love taking you all along. 🙏🏼 This place is super far. Almost a 4 hour trip to and from my ranch. We don’t have allot of time to film the park unfortunately. But we did have allot of fun.
So nice of you. I don’t just do it for the sake of fun plant day, I also do it for you guys. I know that Florida holds an abundance of botanical gardens and nurseries of all types. We live in a state that honors nature highly due to the Everglades, weather, and richness in our soil and trees. I want to share some of that with the world. I feel awareness of nature and it beauty is very important. Education opens the mind to broaden its passion for plants.
Aloha Nelson & Teresita! This was a nice size show with a variety of plants. I’ve always wanted a bat plant ever since I saw yours Nelson but have yet to find one here. I loved the dendrobium bullenianum 😍 Mahalo for taking us along on all of your orchid/plant excursions 🤙🏽
Great Video Nelson, Just keep doing long videos, we really enjoy them so much. It was great seeing Teresa with you at the show, you both make the perfect combo. Saludos my friend. ✨️👍✨️
I did find my plants. lol! It was a bit of a crazy day cause we got off in the wrong exit and arrived later than we wanted. We had a very short window to cover everything. Then we had to drive back almost 2 hours. But we had a super fun day. 🤗
Great video as always 👏. Combo with Terisita is always fun 😊. Long or short videos I am staying to the end because you never disappoint 💕💕. How is Laz? We are due another home visit from Him😊
Awesome thank you! It was a fun day. Laz is extremely busy these days. Change of career will do that. Plus he filled his place so much with orchids that he just can’t buy anything else. Maybe he’ll pop up at a show soon.
I prefer 20-20-20 over 35-20-20. Half a teaspoon per gallon of water is spot on. And the advice that it can be used on house plants is excellent too. That is literally the first time I have seen a youtuber give perfect fertilizing instructions. The only misleading aspect is the weekly weakly advice. If you grow in pots and water your orchids once a week that advice would be perfect. However if you water your orchids daily, then using half a tsp in a gallon once a week would too little. There is no reason to mention the weekly weakly approach when already giving exact instructions on how much to use. So my only adjustment to the advice would be 1/2 tsp/gallon of 20-20-20 - every time you water your orchids. So if you water your orchids once a week, you use your fertilized water once a week. If you water your orchids twice a week you use your fertilized water twice a week If you water your orchids every day you use your fertilized water every day. The aim is no matter how much you water - depending on your growing media, humidity and growing conditions, every drop the orchid absorbs should be at the correct concentration. That is why if you were to fertilize just once a week and use unfertilized water every other day between, you would be diluting the amount of fertilizer concentration the orchid is absorbing. You don't want to do this. So as an added note, she mentions using half to a full teaspoon per gallon. This is what you want to use as an outdoor grower. As an outdoor grower your orchids will be getting a lot of their watering from rain fall. This rain will dilute whatever you fertilize throughout the year, thus as an outdoor grower in summer you can go up to a full teaspoon per gallon and use this weekly.
@@naturenel yep good luck. But I don't think it is so much which 20-20-20 product you use although some might be lacking micro nutrients compared to others. I think it is more how you use it. I am experimenting full dose fertilizer all winter long this year. And by full dose I mean what was recommended here. Like if you watched Vicky's Likes video's about Phillip Hamilton from Jamaica, his family have been breeding orchids for 60 years already yet they use half this amount and stop fertilzing in winter. I know it works... But I also know using twice as much, ie what was recommended in your video works better, ie plants grow faster. Like as you know it can take more than 5 years to grow cattleyas from flask to flowering size. But this time depends on how you fertilize. Sure you can use less than recommended but I honestly believe from my trials you will be adding 1-2 years to this time period. So it's more about how you use the fertilizer. That is what I think but the opposite is Bredren Orchids who advise to use less and then you have really bad advice saying to use a far too low amount. I know you would tell me, as long as people are happy with their results but the truth is nobody has the time to experiment and compare growing seedlings for 5+ years yet that is what we should be using as our guide. I have literally tried all different strength of fertilizer. And the deceiving thing is that you can grow orchids using no fertilizer for years on end or so little it is basically the equivelent of but what happens, what most don;t realize is that you lose a higher percentage doing this. Stem rot, root rot, black rot, fungal infections etc. Stronger plants are more resilient and so you lose less over time. You can literally plot a graph to depict either losing 5% up to 30% of your total collection based on how much fertilizer one uses. But this is just not fully understood by many. So it is true that as long as people are happy with what they are doing and believe they are doing it right. But I believe many are losing more orchids than they should be and that to me is less fun and more costly. Amyway. Thanks for replying. You're very good at that and you must get soo many comments.

Hi nel, great video 😊 i wonder if you know agloenemas? They're colorful and easy to care...you might like it❤
I do have a few. But they are sensitive to the extreme weather here. I’ve kept some indoors but eventually they die off.

Have you made use of the database yet?
I’ve been going back to my emails and can’t find it. What’s the email so I can download it.
Is there a link to find where all of these orchid festivals/shows are at? When and where? We live in Cape Coral.
