Sorry if my mic quality sounds like it's coming from a microwave. I plugged my blue yeti to my new tablet just to see how it goes as a pose to my phone where I usually do it. Sorry headphone users.
As much as I’d love to see the owl house given enough time to finish it’s originally planned story, I’d much rather we not see Disney butcher it trying to revive it just to make a buck off the people who loved it.
2:40 I think that's just the thing, We don't dump on Disney for the sake of hating it, we do it because we care, we care that the company that was once known for being the most creative and innovative company can remain as such
Well, Disney was always bad so to say. I mean, I was personally never much of a Disney fan, and there was a time where they did have good movies but if you go back far enough, they were just as racist as Primos is. 100 years ago they had cartoons of Mickey Mouse where he did blackface. I know that was a time where the rest of the world was racist too, but now that most people aren't racist, this makes them look really bad. Tbh, I'd kind of like to see a little bit of a downfall with Disney since I think a lot of their stuff is overrated, and I feel bad for the underrated companies that make really good movies, but I still think Prios makes them look bad and I hope it gets banned because I care about the kids who have to watch it and how may people it's offending.
Ikr, not in modern day at least. Why did stuff like Encanto, Brave, and Suite life of Zack & Cody go completely against the stereotypes, but this is full of offensive stereotypes?
I don’t think it’s a bad thing to have a show about a girl struggling with her identity and speaking the language because it wasn’t her first language. I know being mixed myself, it’s always been hard for me to speak the language and connect with my Dad’s heritage despite wanting to be apart of it and connect with it. There really haven’t been many shows for kids exploring that. These are valid things to explore but doing it in the way they did was just really ineffective in this intro alone and I really don’t like the way the main actress just insulted and belittled people who take pride in the language being spoken correctly as well as the fair complaints from people about the lighting and the names of the characters and so on. The idea for this show was I think a good one. They just went about in the worst way possible and the main actress made it worse.
Ain't no way this quickly put together video became my fastest growing and most viewed video this year. Thanks for watching, check out my other commentary videos please.
The bean faces are in yea. I do like the creative styles of Owl House and Amphibia. The backgrounds are great, character designs are great. Some people don't like the roundness of the new Disney shows. But I think it's not terrible. I think they could totally release more shows with the tangled series vibe. I quite enjoy the art in that one. In the end, it's what sells pretty much
I'm half mexican, and I don't see a problem with the show. I even showed my mom, who is mexican. She didn't see a problem with it other than the town being named earthquake. Also, wasn't it said that the MCs spanish wasn't perfect? Meaning we should expect her to say things wrong. I know a little bit of spanish and I'll say things wrong.
I’m not latino but I’ve been following the situation pretty closely and unfortunately that is the issue. Since most of the show is written by second generation latino immigrants from their own experience, that will absolutely resonate with certain people, and those people won’t see an issue(like you guys!) but in that same reasoning, because it’s written from their own experience, other people can and have seen the “endearing” stuff(like the character names) as offensive. It’s important for showrunners to go through a bunch of checks and balances to make sure that NO community is offended. Its why things often get changed in other language dubs(and why things also get censored for political reasons 😕). Basically it boils down to the fact that a lot of these descisions and names are SUPER tone-deaf(especially “Earthquake heights” I mean, who ok’d that???) and should have been left on the cutting room floor if the writers involved had perhaps asked other members of different latino communities about their opinions. This could have easily been avoided. Not only that but now, after the fact, when the creators are being called out for these aspects, they could have just said: “Hey don’t worry guys, we know what we’re doing, the poor grammar is intentional and the clear stereotypes are going to be broken down throughout the series.” And people would have stopped and maybe even considered watching it. But THEY DIDN’T,(the “she doesn’t know spanish so she gets things wrong” is fine, but it was released After the VA insisted that the Spanish language was a “colonizer” language and therefore they shouldn’t have to care about respecting it, so I’m inclined to believe that they only said that to quell the flames).instead they doubled down because they don’t have any legs to stand on. They can’t guarantee that the rest of the series won’t be filled with stereotypes and incredibly tone-deaf jokes based on the creator’s limited experience. And that sets a terrible precedent for the show. Overall the show is probably well intentioned, but desperately requires some rewriting to make sure that every community is happy.
Theres a lot to criticize about this show, but i find it funny when people criticize that one of the character's names is nacho. like....guys, the nickname comes from Ignacio and it's existed long before the dish. It was named after the guy who invented it. Theres a lot of latino dudes out there named nacho. out of all the things to draw attention to, you pick the one thats not actually offensive.

This series is more offensive and discriminatory than the movie "Song of the South" for its racist polemic against mexican culture.
Just bring Luz back. the owl house, a show about Witches and demons, did a better representation of a Latina girl
The Owl House sucked ass and was a generic tumblr show in a sea of them, sorry.
And neurodivergant rep
True, but there's atleast other shows good than primos like Molly McGee or Hamster and Gretel
Ye, even if she was annoying af it's way better than this crap.

Its Disney. Disney has a history of being racist, but I still wasn't expecting THIS low.
They’re way more racist than we think
Yes, Disney has a history of being racist. However, now they're trying to pander to Mexicans while still being racist.
Yeah. they just never learn do they? I've said this before & I'll say it again: Disney's just repeating their racist past
Ikr, not in modern day at least. Why did stuff like Encanto, Brave, and Suite life of Zack & Cody go completely against the stereotypes, but this is full of offensive stereotypes?
It feels like Disney was trying to make a bootleg Casagrandes x Dora.
Yup
Disney's been walking on thin ice
Some of their recent stuff could be questionable

I heard this takes place in Los Angeles. To be fair, Amphibia did LA way better than this.

Instead of this, they could’ve made a spin-off series of Encanto.
I've would’ve personally prefer that
Idk what kind of crack Disney devs were smoking on while creating this show.
The artstyle looks like it tried to imitate the clarence artstyle but didn’t understand what made Clarence’s artstyle great
Now that you metioned it, it kinda does look like Clarence
same lmao

Excellent! what happens is that this topic is viral haha
Disney will never be good again until they stop simping for Blackrock.
i hate how shows are making there art ugly just to grab our attention, if a shows art dosnt look like but i am gonna watch it

I can't believe Disney cancelled The Owl House for that negative stereotype show!😡

I want disney to fall apart.

Nacho is actually a dope name ngl
There are two primos named Nacho, the second one is called Nachito
@@askatuproductions yeah, that part is weird. it's not like they ran out of Hispanic names or anything.
And a kid named vigiana
@@onionbubs386Some names are weird to me
Naming a kid after a racial slur is like naming someone shitty
Think of it this way: because the protagonist is learning Spanish, maybe that’s the point of the grammatical error of the title
In the test pilot of the series he shows that it can be that
Fair enough!
Finally someone who doesn’t blow this show out of proportion
The Royal Spanish Academy said it's actually fine to use “oye” as an interjection, rather than literally telling your cousins to listen.
Uhg-Guh-Lee!
oye primos in english means hey cousins
Disney is absolutely out of touch.
Bring Back Mucha Mucha!
Oye primos 🎶

si buscas "oye primos" en youtube, encontrarás cientos de videos de esto xD. Algunos hacen reír porque se la pasan insultando xD
