I watched many interviews of Aptera, and this is by far the best. It’s clear, the team’s confidence has risen, which in my opinion is supported by production finality nearing. I could only imagine a project of this scale, that has your life blood poured into it, finally shaping into expectations. This is such a historic event, and it’s a honor and privilege to play a small part. What a great time to be alive

I am very confident that Aptera will get to production that I changed my reservation to a 600 mile version as I think I may get mine next year.

I hope you release an external solar panel pack you can carry in our Aptera and plug in via the standard plug and double, if not more solar charging.

Not trying to be internet snarky here but their primary mission is to not go bankrupt. I hope that they make it happen. They have an interesting product philosophy that fulfills the dreams of many people. I have some reservations about the form factor and I do understand its evolution. Personally, I’m quite happy with my carbon fiber BMW i3 which operates at 3¢ of electricity per mile. Its safety, drivability, comfort, range and aesthetic suit me perfectly. Lastly the i3 was $15.5k after used EV incentives and is low mileage and flawless.

They better start selling these soon before the cheap knockoffs come out. The cheap knockoffs will cheapen their brand when or if they do come out. But the again, the cheap knockoffs could be “good enough” to steal apteras thunder.
It should be to build a car that drives as good as it looks give me AWD or give me a leaf. at least a leaf has two wheel in the rear doing nothing but holding the back from sliding.

I will be absolutely amazed if these guys ever go into production, they have come a long way in the prototyping since 2005 first build ( no evidence of fambro ever building anything in his gaarge before 2005). The chances are almost zero for production to ever start in earnest.
But you never know. There is no efficiency in building parts in all different parts of the world and shipping to usa for assembly, that is what they hope to achieve, but you will be probably looking at a vehicle costing over $80,000usd minimum.
Aptera doesn’t mention what are the reasons not select in-wheel hub motor and decide to adopt convention drive trans.
They haven't but does it matter?
Let's brainstorm.
1. Production Volume?
2. Reliability?
3. Cost?
4. Safety?
5. Performance?
These are just 5 that I thought of real quick. It could be one of those or all of those or even something I haven't considered. Ultimately it doesn't matter.
In the end we can safely assume they ran into a problem they couldn't overcome and had to switch.
We will probably know more soon when they announce the new drive train.
Assuming the LE's are not AWD I'm already going to postpone my order until that changes. Honestly I prefer the 600 or 1000 mile range so by waiting I may be better off anyway. Too early to decide. With each passing month new information will come in and my final decision will change based on the new information I receive.

What this means for reservation holders and investors is that you will see some changes up ahead. We want you to know that changes to our vehicle design are taken very seriously and only made if they require significantly less capital including research, development, and tooling cost. A production plan that requires less capital, reduces risk for our shareholders, and allows Aptera to get to market more quickly.
Once updated supply agreements are inked, we will share more information."
@@Fairburne69I'm a hub motor fan but think I'd still be happy with something proven off the shelf like GKN Automotive Torque Vectoring offering for small cars. Don't know if it can fit, don't know specs, but maybe an option?
