- This is a song that carries alot of meaning this time of year, telling the story of Joseph Plunkett and the night prior to his execution in 1916. Plunkett was married to Grace Gifford in Killmainham Gaol for a total of seven hours, she never married again.
A big thank you to our two talented actors Peter Huges and Clodagh Mc Laughlin.

WOWII Fergal McAloon's voice is so great and the bands musicianship is just incredible. This just became my favorite version of this classic song!!

"Paul Moore" Remember that blokes like Plunkett, who had so much to live for, died. I went to school with a Plunkett. Our Matric year meet up 3 times a year. I get to greet a Plunkett 3 times a year. Grace is as sad as it gets, eh ? Whistling Donkeys'' version is as good as anyone elses.
