Please design a new controller for the apu, first off a dark gray or black controller would look much better and a flush controller option would truly be nice. Having the wire harness visible is simply tacky along with the screws used to mount it. They could make one controller that could be either surface mounted or flush mounted by removing a lower housing. A rear wire entry would also help.
@@GreenAPU It wouldn't be a bad idea to add Bluetooth and wifi connectivity to the controller either. With Bluetooth the apu could be controlled from the drivers seat. Many trucks have wifi Hotspots for the e-log systems and many drivers have their own wifi hotspots so if the controller had wifi connectivity the apu could be controlled from anywhere in the world and the manufacturer could monitor health and usage of the apu. It would be nice to warm up or cool down the truck before arrival at the truck and the ability to monitor battery voltage and coolant temperatures would also be great.
This is why I went back to thermo king this past July for my 2nd truck. It will turn on automatically to charge the batteries if the voltage hits 12.4. I also had the extra switch they can install on the dash for "normal" & "standby" mode. If the truck or Apu is being worked on all you have to do is flip the switch from normal to standby and the apu won't turn on. The lack of the auto battery charge cost them my business. I'm a truck driver and when I'm excited about going home after weeks or months out on the road, I know remembering to flip the apu to charge mode is the last thing I will be thinking of.
Some people have told me that your unit is the most reliable in the business but the problem of it is is when I park next to somebody that has one of your apus it drives me nuts! The thing is loud and the RPMs change constantly and it just forces me to move so that I can get some sleep! I don't know if there's a way to fix this and to get this thing quieter but you guys need to work on it. If it was quieter I would buy one maybe two for my second truck.
I just got my 2023 Freightliner with the Green APU. My unit only heats up and goes past the desired setting. For example it is 28 outside and I want to heat up to 60. The heater comes on and it goes past the 60 and up to 85. I have to shut it off obviously. I have not been in high temps but I noticed on the screen with the temperature setting it says AC “pressure!” Is this why the a/c doesn’t come on and the heater zooms past your desired setting?
You see, most of these companies don't give a crap! Look you asked a month ago and there's no answer like on most of the questions here. Screw it I'm going with a Thermo King.
Our new green APU unit keeps freezing up and won't cool the truck below 80 f ... The evaporator turns into a block of ice .. is there any way to force the fan to stay on so it melts it?
As an update, we worked with Charles and determined the evaporator Freeze Sensor was damaged. We provided a replacement sensor under warranty and the issue was resolved.
Must be something wrong with mine. It has a temp adjuster on it but it doesn't do anything at all. It's either really hot on heat or super cold on ac I have to wake up turn it off go back to sleep I mean it's pretty bad lol I hate it.
It works sometimes and sometimes doesn’t and Have to sleep in freezing cold so many nights… Even Blower is Turned ON but hardly throw any air out.. Blower only throws air once or twice in twenty days an that you whenever it wants not when a driver wants… Lots of drivers have same issue.. Don’t waste your money on this one
I agree. It's not worth getting. I don't have your problem. But the temp on mine doesn't adjust at all and can't get a goodnight sleep. It's almost brand new. Only have 40,000 miles on the truck.

@@GreenAPUdoes the engine never shut off in climate mode? Also I did the battery charge mode and the engine ran the whole 10hrs off duty.
Why not have the battery maintainer always on with the option to turn it off?

This APU says it’s 60 in my truck when it isn’t. It pumps hot air in. It’s 80 outside. Horrible APU
system is trash won’t cool truck down woke up to freaking 100F 🤬😡😡😡 absolutely hate this system
I have that same problem. Thermo king is 10 times better
But his voice is annoying and uncomfortable to sleep
