First gen Ford Transit Connect Anti-Theft issues no crank

- My 2010 Ford transit connect started having anti theft issues. I’m not sure if the chip is going bad or what. It will crank sometimes if you turn it on and off 4 times take the key out press a button on the key then insert key in ignition and crank but as soon as you remove the key it doesn’t recognize the key anymore. Its one of the fuses under the hood. Row closest to the right if your facing the cab from outside and fuse closest to the cab
disconnect starter wire plug by the battery and go direct to battery positive and see if it cranks if it does could be shifter mechanism by the transmission , this happened to me almost got stranded on the road so after a while of fucking with it i went to that wire and started the van then at home i put a push buttom no more problems gut it will start in drive so be careful
I fixed mine by changing a fuse. Check the manual to see which fuse the anti-theft system is on. The fuse blew so the car thought it was stolen so would shut off.
I check that and all the other ones I eventually took it to the dealer and they got it fixed. They said it was the pats module.

After it started to get worse I took it to my local Ford dealership and they told me it was an issue with the pats system they changed 260 and had no problems after
I have the same issues with my Ford tourneo connect… started few month ago but lately was getting worse nd tomorrow early in the morning i have appointpent to the car service for another issue nd now guess what… the malfunction anti theft car system does nt allow me to start the engine… i hope tomorrow in the morning it will start.
That’s what happened to mine, I could turn the ignition on and off a lot and it would work
The battery in the key could be dead.
So what did you do with the pats system? Im trying to swap my pcm but it wont start because of anti theft issue
I took it to my local dealer and they changed it out and programmed it for me
2009 E350 superduty van v10 weird start problems also Ford can not figure it out. On 2nd pcm problems still, vehicle is useless got stranded for 3 hours recently only 34k on van.
I know it can get really aggravating and expensive trying to hunt down the issue.

Yes, I took it to my local Ford dealer after it started get worse. At first i could cycle it a few times then it got longer and longer. They said it was an issue with the pats system and they charged like 260 I believe and it worked perfect after that.
Is battery in the key good?
Yeah I checked that first, it ended up being the pats system it’s all good now
