Het ene moment waren ze nog een songloze mystery-band op de line-up van Motel Mozaique, het volgende moment was daar topsong ‘Nothing Matters’ en sindsdien is The Last Dinner Party dé Britse doorbraakband van het jaar. Ze openden voor The Rolling Stones zonder een enkel liedje op hun naam en staan al in het voorprogramma van Hozier en Florence + The Machine. Afgelopen oktober waren ze de headliners van het showcasefestival London Calling. We spraken ze vóór hun show over hun bizarre rollercoasterjaar, over hun bloederige bandmanifest, theater en natuurlijk over ‘Nothing Matters’. Oh, en daarover gesproken: de stembussen van de Song van het Jaar zijn officieel geopend!

I read the band have hired professional session drummers. And that the record producer drummed on the album. And they have chosen a particular drummer for their tour.

@@jeremymanson1781 They're said to be talking about making Rebekah - their current hired-hand drummer - a full-time part of the band.
At this point, it's their choice: They can pick the woman who musically fits in perfectly, and who they all like as a person. They're in a situation like the Beatles - when John Paul and George needed somebody better than Pete Best, they could get a guy who wasn't just the best drummer in Liverpool, but who was great to get along with, who could finish their jokes, who had the same attitude, and who could BECOME a Beatle.
