First pair me: hell its just salt how is he possibly going to know which is more expensive
Last pair also me: well of course salt B is more expensive the crystal structure is far superior
Austin Keyes quite obviously this salt has water in its crystal lattice. About a pentahydrate I’d say. The other, however, appears to be closer to an anhydrous state, roughly a monohydrate if I had to estimate.

@@Sierra-cl9xr ew why lol
I dont think he was wrong about salt. We can clearly see that he knows his stuff. We all have to remember that not always the best product is the most expensive.
Like he (and other exsperts) have said: Sometimes you pay for the package, not the product.
Reminds me a bit of holidays: You buy a fancy bottle of olive oil or honey to have when you get home. Then they might have the same quality much cheaper at the super market.
Rule of thumb for this show: The less normal it looks, the more expensive it is. Therefore black salt = very expensive.
In general though you do in fact get what you pay for
@@jflsdknf Generally when I buy salt, I get salt, so I guess that's true.

We need to get a rice expert, mushroom expert, and oil expert on this show!
You can't mass produce good mushrooms they're expensive because of the labor it takes to pick them.
@@JumpinBean95 They mass-produce king oysters, potabello, chanterells, and shiitake literally right down the road from me. A huge mushroom farm that operates year round here in the PNW. On top of that I've grown on my own from spores and not only is it extremely easy to do, but super cheap as well.
@@n0isyturtle that's great, i live in Clatsop County but what i meant is like the botton mushrooms where they grow like crazy, you mentioned they're on a farm and most mushrooms need certain things to grow like oysters on spruce. I just don't see a wild mushroom like what we have here in PNW ever being low quality if it's mainly grown in the wild /property. Gotta remember hipsters don't like getting their hands dirty so that's why a 1/4 lb of chantrelles costs 20 bucks here at the coast stores! (It's insane) Question! Do they grow chantrelles year round?
@@JumpinBean95 I was super surprised they actually did, and to boot they distributed them to the local Safeway. You could literally go to the grocery store and buy fresh local mushrooms. They are expensive, but they are available year round.

This is the first one i've seen that the expert got wrong. He is very knowledgeable though and it shows that the most expensive is not always the best :)
he explains in the vid 6:26 - 6:28; that packaging plays a role in pricing (you know; just like for instances: you're paying for the _brand_ more instead of the quality for the same product offered at market) and also see this if you want more info about that man over here

I understand why they don't reveal the actual labels / brands of these, but it would be soooo much more helpful.
Given that legally these kind of consumer tests are fine, I'm guessing that there's more editing and reshoots going on than the audience realises, and that's why we can't know the brands because it would be too much of a headache for them if someone investigated. Otherwise the lack of brands doesn't make sense.
Terry Beardmore What do you mean by editing and reshoots?
I agree, might want to buy some of this
@@dl5fse990 watch this series back and pay attention to the signs at the front - sometimes they've already exposed the prices and blurred them and so on. Pay attention to the actual products too and you'll start to see that these are chopped up heavily and not aired in any chronological ordwr, and it looks likely that they're not actually a fair test.
Like if these were an objective and fair test of the experts, there's no reason for them to hide the brand names as that would be legal. The only reason to do so would be if the test was flawed and unfair in some way, which the editing seems to suggest is the case. The expert likely isn't guessing anything and knows which is which from the get go as the purpose of these videos isn't to show one as superior but to explain to you, the viewer, how experts go about ascertaining quality in various products.
Basically by editing and reshoots I mean that if you pay attention you can see the final edit is from all over, and that the prices are often exposed but blurred way before they're supposed to be. That fits with the fact they can't name the brands for "legal reasons" and suggests the experts aren't guessing anything, they're just explaining how they go about ascertaining quality in their personal field.
