Back when the game was just about having fun, being the best you could be and well yeah, creating content.
For me what killed Fortnite (ironically) was the amount of money that got dumped into the game, that’s where all went sideways, people started to play to profit from something that it was supposed to be fun not a “job”, sure yeah, who doesn’t like money, but in doing so they created greedy wanna be adults kids, the toxic within the community grew beyond repair due to that hunger for “easy” money... if there’s a message here having a glimpse at the past where you could actually see people were having a good time, is that as soon as you get that kind of money involved in a game, it destroys the game and the community...
IamLordThanos i 100% percent agree with you what killed fornite for me was the people in it and how competitive it was literally people would be doing all sorts of techniques and im over here doing my best literally what killed for me the most about the game was just 1v1ing people take 1v1ing to seriously and I accidentally got caught up in that and the second i lost, i straight up lost myself literally feeling embarrassed and people talking smack over the mic

HOLY COW Grumbae is funny. I have been trying and working on making my gaming videos more enjoyable by watching him and putting things into practice. A video that I have been working on for awhile that I think is good should be coming out soon. It would be awesome if you checked me out and subscribed/show some love. Also please tell me what you don't like about my videos and what I can make better about them.
The game is still the same loot, shoot build, and win it's just everyone is getting good at the game now

Nobody wants to play against people who seem like they just did 7 lines of blow. Everyone wanted to win but nobody really took it that serious. Now pppl be taking it way too serious and it shows and quite frankly has gotten really really annoying. I’m on COD now, gotta move onto something new and fresh. Fortnite is hot garbage for 12 year olds now. I have grown out of fortnite and I appreciate all the great times, memories and laughs

I'm the kinda guy that went around the map dancing and actually having fun.

Never got people to dance with me or anything, ever.
My first game back of this new chapter's season and I got someone that danced with me, the second one I could act as a Psycho from Borderlands and a dude let's me pickaxe Marauders until I died by the last one.
I've had more fun in three days of this new stuff vs a whole year of crap from before.
Now. Now it's fun.

It isn't one thing that changed fortnite, many things did. The younger kids practiced and became even more talented than all the "popular pro" players. It was all fun and games when Ninja, Myth, Tim etc etc were teaming up on regular players and being toxic(or as they use to say "just having fun") but now the tides have turned and they can't take it and make every excuse about the game. Another reason is money money and money. When you put the kind of money into tournaments like Fortnite did with all the cash events and the World Cup you will bring a more serious nature to the game, it becomes not about just having fun, it becomes a way for people to change their lives. Another reason and one of the more un-talked about reasons is the game simply is getting older. You can only be on top for so long before a game starts to become stale, no matter what Epic adds, and even years later lets be honest it's still one of the most popular games out there.

All this shows you is that the game naturally evolved into what it is now. The mastery of build mechanics was inevitable and now, seeing kids turbo build massive buildings is the norm. I personally still have fun but I can see why a lot of people jumped ship

Fortnite became about lots of MONEY, for all the content creators, streamers and competitive gamers.
Those guys milked EVERY bit of content for HOURS on end every day, because it was making them big bucks all of a sudden. Now, memes aren't fun, fun isn't fun, being creative is impossible and they whine and complain that the game is dying. Of course it is. They spammed it. All of them. Hands out, looking for views, likes and money. They never cared what they were doing to the game cos they know games don't last. They wanted to milk as much as possible before the trend changes and they did. They have. There's nothing left for anybody to do. Now they demand that Epic "fix" the game to cater to their greed and lifestyle.
Best they shut up and remember who made Fortnite and who owns it. Next thing they should do is shut up again and take responsibility for being money-hungry kids that bored the world of Fortnite.
Grumbae, you're no different. Made extra effort to jump on this bandwagon and spam "enhanced this and that", spam all the same sound effects and edits just for likes and view and money.
Considering your bank account and nothing more.
I think the game would be in a much better state if sbmm was implemented sooner. It’s not tryhards faults for being good and grinding the game, but from season 5-10 when competitive fn was slowly gaining popularity and people were getting really good, Fortnite needed to add it in sooner.
or if the sbmm didnt suck. you can win 1 game and be put in the highest skill bracket, even if you're a mediocre player. and if you BELONG in the highest skill bracket, if you lose too many you get put in a bot lobby which isn't fun. All they need is decent sbmm and seperate loot pools for competitive and casual. A proper ranked mode instead of arena would be nice too.

The problem for me with fortnite is that their trying to cater waaaaay to much to the pros and the tryhard part of the community, when fortnite was just beginning you had wacky and just awesome items like port a forts/resses and shopping karts and golf karts and boogie bombs and just a good time but as seasons progressed epic just started to focus all of its attention to weapons and pros instead of making it fun
Casuals make epic the most money and are majority of the community so epic definitely focuses on them more. I think the main problem is that sbmm wasn’t introduced until late season 10, which was way to late considering how many sweats there were in the game after season 5.
All the boomer streamers who talk about the time when Fortnite was "fun" are just talking about how they used to shit on 9 yr olds all day every day and get 25 kills per game lol
