I’ve never seen it done that way with the wood sticks straw and leaves. 🍁 We just pile 7 inches of straw on top in our cold northern climate in USA. The shrine and spring water area was nice. It's kind of dangerous when you have little children around. The dog is kept on a chain for the safety of the family residents, and yes, this is not always the case. When the kids are at home, the dog is let off the chain, but during the day it has to be like this
