i have just started fasting few weeks ago and when you pray about it and ask for Gods help, he will definitely see you through and i have seen his power and strength helped me through it all. This teaching is a blessing and timely as we seek knowledge and wisdom about fasting. Thank you for sharing and teaching us this my brother. Before i tried fasting, my mind has always told me that i cannot fast for long and needs to take food or snacks every few hours and so i prayed about it. For the first time i fasted a few weeks ago, i did not crave for food, not even the sight of food or its smell made me want to eat...first time in my 41 years of living on this earth that i could fast for 12 hrs straight. so i continued for the next 2 days and i kept thanking God and the Holy Spirit for his power and guidance. Now i am fasting weekly and will continue yo do so and lessons from this teaching will help me alot. Glory and Honour to be his alone. Regards from Fiji Islands.

This was EXCELLENT! It's the best explanation that I've even heard for fasting. I have not fasted often because quite frankly, I like eating, but I want to do whatever it takes to grow in the things of the Lord. if this is what it takes, then so be it!
Hey sis, I can tell you in the last year I have started fasting on a regular basis and it has changed my walk with God and I've seen answers to prayer in a stronger way than I was otherwise!! I highly recommend you input a fasting regimen in your life for a season. Maybe once every 2 weeks for a day to start. And eventually you will find you want more. I know it sounds so crazy but now honestly I look forward to fasting because I hear God more clearly when I'm fasting
@@living_m2414 Thank you for the encouragement. It does sound crazy. He made our bodies to need food, yet we're not supposed you eat. That bothers me. I'm having a problem with this. My flesh is fighting this HARD! 🤷🏽♀️

"Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things." God did create food for the body but he also wants to teach us we need him and his word more than we need food. You don't have to start with a lot, start with one meal. Ask God to help you. It isn't something that you HAVE to do but oh, how marvelous it is to experience the blessings God brings through it. Sometimes it just feels like a battle all the way through but there is victory that comes after and sometimes, during. He uses it to expose and tear down idols, help us hear clearly etc. I do encourage you, please start small but do start! This is like a spiritual atomic bomb when you pray with fasting. It really does help your growth and also to see answers to prayer . Remember Jesus said some demons only come out only through prayer and fasting. That tells us there is some power in fasting as a weapon of spiritual warfare! Please let me know how it goes starting with a breakfast one morning and replacing that time with prayer! I've also had dreams from God while fasting though definitely not every time. It also builds discipline which makes it so much easier over time to say no to temptation and sin. It makes you more in tune with the Spirit all together!!
This year I started fasting once a week, which years ago I said sounded way too intense when someone told me they did that and I said "I could never do that." At that time I only fasted once in a while for a day or 2 as the Spirit led, but it was only.omce or twice a year. This year I started basically weekly after fasting more frequently last year and as I already said it brought a lot. But one thing I want to add is there was a month period where I took a break due to some vacation plus family birthdays etc so I decided to take that month off. By the end of it I noticed I was really not hearing God clearly and I didn't have the same hunger for prayer and the word as I was used to. In fact I also felt old worldly desires like the desire to watch ungodly shows creeping in too and I felt kind of just "blah." I guess, lukewarm. Starting to fast again after that was HARD. Like actually agreeing to do it took me days of ignoring the urge. But when I did, oh my goodness, there was so much break through and I realized that while I was off I didn't even realize how much I'd lost my hunger for and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
I say this not to scare you. You might not be called to weekly fasting. Don't be discouraged by the prospect of growing to more frequent fasting. Just as I said start really small, praying when you'd normally eat, ask God to help you and also ask him for a vision of what specifically you are fasting and praying for. Maybe it's a loved ones salvation.this is one of my biggest motivations to fast. Maybe it's for direction or clarity.
I pray you will experience a lot of grace to fast and see God breaking through in many ways! !

This helps me so much. I was always told that fasting was important, but I was never taught all this other information you’re teaching me. Every time I fasted I had no idea what I was doing and kinda just waited until I was able to eat again. I never knew the “why” part, or the dangers of doing it wrong, or what to focus on, or that I could have water or coconut water, or that the attacks are normal. Thank you for helping me. This puts the last piece of the puzzle together for me.

I used to fast and pray from 6am -6pm for 7 days or 3 days for the past couple of days or it has been continuing for deliverance of evil spirit or Satanic work in all of my broken family life and also for my father Sinfulness though i cannot be much humble nor sincere but i do believe in repentance.. Iam really weary and feed up of this kind of suffering life
I just got off of a three day fast. I broke my fast with some boiled eggs. Later that day, I wanted some ice cream. I brought it after I ate a balanced dinner. That night the Holy Spirit told me to get rid of the reminder of the ice cream. So I did. It's true what Vlad is saying about fasting helps with our physical appetite.

@@JohnDoe-xv4rp I feel it’s about chastising your flesh. To train yourself to live according to the spirit and not your physical desires. To deny yourself food is hard for most people. For me it’s not really a sacrifice. During stressful times I literally have to force myself to eat. But there are other things my flesh craves. I would love to give up smoking for good, and I go through periods of “fasting” from things that aren’t necessarily sinful but meaningless such as TV or social media to spend more time in prayer and studying God’s word

I try and go three days but cant get past one day...why? I'm week I feel 😢
You gotta take it slow. Do one day.. then two,,,, then three. But don’t be so hard on yourself. Ask God to give you perseverance in fasting. I promise you GOD will help you.
Start with one day
Are you baptized in the Holy Spirit? Pray for that if you never have been. I fast for 6 days sometimes and could probably go longer but I was told you shouldn’t fast on Shabbos. I take communion before and after. I have kosher grape juice and matzoh on hand for it. The first day is the hardest I may get a headache. I drink water but not much. The rest of the time is a breeze. I even exercise during it. I walked 12 miles on the 3rd fasting day. I do it to get closer to Jesus.
Pray to Jesus to give you grace over your fast, to fast is to humble yourself before Lord ... if you go in your own strenght it will fail, try to build it up by not eating half day then go into full day on water , later you can do dry fast, 3days fast especially Ester 3 days dry fast needs more let s call it practice but is great and things powerfully moves in the spirit on that fast...be blessed in Jesus name

At any moment you can die and if your not right with Christ you would go to hell. If you died would you go to heaven or hell

Black coffee apparently, no calories. Coffee makes fasting worse though lol, hunger pangs hurt more cuz it's acidic
