    Gall or Lochlannach was the term used in Ireland and Scotland for Norse or Danish raiders, the Dubhgaill and the Fionngaill. The Dubhgaill were not of African descent. Translated from the Gaelic, dubh means dark haired, whereas Fionn means blonde or white haired. Both Irish Gaeilge and Scottish Gaelic typically use terms such as dubh, fionn, ruadh to refer to people's hair. For example, Black Douglas was called that because of his black hair and not for any other reason. Rob Roy MacGregor had the nickname Roy (Ruadh), again because of his hair, which was red.

    • @african-history-fountain
      @african-history-fountain  10 днів тому +2

      You are lying and making up fake history. Translated from the Gaelic, dubh means black, AND NOTHING ELSE. A quick question we put to AI (ChatGPT) about any possible medieval allusion to hair colour by the word dubh brought this response: ''The claim that dubh referred specifically to hair color lacks direct evidence in historical Gaelic sources. Instead, historical texts use dubh to describe complexion......In Foras Feasa ar Éirinn (The History of Ireland) by Geoffrey Keating, Ethiopians are described as fir dubha ("black men").''' .......The era of lies is over. So stop it.

Apparently, the world was much smaller back then, so travel across land and water was much easier than it is now. So, due to natural disasters, higher levels of water earthquake etc etc the land mass spreads so travelling to other countries has become much
    longer.

    I wholeheartedly agree the African influence on Europe is wildly underrecognized, and it no way strikes me as unlikely that black Africans could've conquered Denmark at some point, seeing as there's abundant evidence the Vikings were far ranging enough to explore the coast of Africa, and almost certainly weren't the only people in Europe and West Africa with that level of seamanship. But I don't think the term "black" to refer to people with no further qualifiers is proof of dark skin colour.
    "Black" as a shorthand for race and nothing else is a modern convention. "Black with no qualifiers to specify hair" definitely doesn't rule out skin, but it's the same the other way around, "black without mentions of skin doesn't prove hair". In the same way that English has very clear linguistic evidence of having been conquered by Danish speaking peoples and French speaking peoples, if the Danish were conquered by black Africans for a meaningful amount of time, you'd expect there to be linguistic evidence.
    I'm not saying the evidence doesn't exist, this is obviously just an introductory video on the topic, but if there *is* more evidence I would like to hear it.

    • @african-history-fountain
      @african-history-fountain  11 днів тому +4

      You’re OVERTHINKING it because of your racial hangups and conditioning. The London Quarterly Review and other credible sources stating the black race of the Dubhgaill should be MORE than enough for you to take it on the chin, figuratively, and move on. If any of those sources had stated authoritatively based on their research that white Europeans sailed to West Africa a thousand years ago, would you be raising all these questions and doubts and demanding ‘further evidence’? NO. So get rid of your conditioned thinking with regard to Africa and Africans. That’s your only problem. Africans civilised the world, and pioneered seafaring and international trade thousands of years before any other races existed. We have the videos that prove that on this channel. So you have no reason whatsoever to be sceptical unless you have been miseducated like majority of people on Earth, about Africa and Africans.

    • @LB-vf2hm

      @african-history-fountain ??? Essentially every time I've heard "xyz historic black cultural group was actually white people" it's been wrong and motivated by extreme and overt white supremacism, so yeah, I WOULD doubt it. I don't think you have a racist motivation, "reverse racism" doesn't exist. But you're still saying something with no evidence beyond "somebody else said it", and and if they had good evidence, presumably you know that good evidence, which makes me frustrated about why you're opposed to elaborating on the topic AT ALL.
      Of course black Africans were sailing the west coast of Europe, but that's not the claim your vid is making.

    • @LB-vf2hm
      @LB-vf2hm 11 днів тому +2

      @@african-history-fountain no, when I hear "this part of POC history was actually white people instead" I definitely ask for more evidence lol.
      But asking for evidence isn't just because I doubt it, it's because I like learning about history. If I wanted to learn "xyz is true because so and so said so" and leave it at that there'd be no point reading or watching history content, I could just read the titles and call it a day. Anything interesting to learn past that point is evidence or speculation.

    Where about did the dubhgaill come from? What happened to them? Where are their descendants in Ireland, Denmark etc?

    • @african-history-fountain
      @african-history-fountain  12 днів тому +10

      Great questions. The Dubhgaill likely originated from regions connected to Europe through trade, migration, and conquest. Candidates include West Africa (Sahel), North Africa (Nubia/Egypt), and possibly the Horn of Africa, as these regions historically connected to European populations through complex networks of movement and exchange. Regarding their descendants, many of them may have been massacred and/or exiled after their eventual subjugation by the dominant majority. Alternatively (or simultaneously), generational dilution may have occurred. Don't forget the Dubhgaill were a much smaller population than the surrounding native European population. Over nearly 1,200 years, continuous intermarriage with those light-skinned populations would make visible African ancestry increasingly rare. But DNA evidence (genetic markers) WILL remain among many modern 'white' Danes today, if they did an ancestry DNA test. Interestingly, many Europeans in recent years have done ancestry DNA tests and received shocking results showing a fair degree of ''sub-saharan'' African ancestry.

      They we're genocides off, MANY we're sold into slavery to the new world ( Caribbean, North am.) And that is why many Melanated descendants of slavery have " irish sounding " last names and where you get terms like " black irish" ! The record keeping of this event gives things such as name , height, physical description ( skin color, physical build) and what particular skill the person had and interestingly enough many we're distillers and brew masters ! And that's why and rum is produced really only in the Caribbean, because they really only had sugarcane at their disposal because they knew how to make whiskeys also That's how Nearest Green taught Jack Daniel's how to make whiskey ! Noone ever asked how Nearest already had this Skill to teach Jack ! Jack Daniel's is a Black Man's recipe and today Fawn Weaver his Great great great grand niece makes Nearest Green whiskey one of the most awarded whiskeys! If you look at the irish traditionally they have always been a poor famine stricken land so where would all of these black people with Irish name's come from ??? That's why later the story of Wht irish "slave's " was concocted in an attempt to cover up this History! And because of this history That's why the irish were thought of as non-white and relieved terrible treatment , the movie Gangs of New York shows this ! I've read a lot of Irish, British, and European history, and never before AD. 1800 is there a mention of non-White persons. It seems that there were no people of African origin in any European country until after the "Age of conquest", (1800s).
    Before 1800 AD. "Black" in this part of the world simply meant "ancestry completely unknowable". " He is a black stranger to me" means that he is unknown to me or anybody I know.
    There might be more evidence of an African based civilisation in Northern Europe, I hope you can uncover it.

      Unless you're trying to suggest that nobody in North Africa was black, the extreme and continuous cultural exchange across the Mediterranean for all of European history essentially guarantees black North Africans must've been to southern Europe at some point. I'm not going to get into the argument about whether the Moors and Egyptians specifically were more ethnically Arab or "Black" in the modern sense of the word (a lot of people argue about this and even if it were definitely either/or I don't think its the slam dunk people treat it like it is), but if there were any (and regardless of who there are, there almost certainly were) black ethnic groups in Northern Africa, some of them probably ended up in southern Europe at some point.

      Absolutely correct. Harald "Bluetooth" Gormsson was referreed to as a 'dark thane', ie a black aristocrat/landowner, and became king of Denmark in 958, and even conquered and ruled over Norway for a few years in the 970s.

    So this is what all this Black Viking talk is about...Ok, it's making sense. My only question is were these Dubgail indiginous to Europe? Because there are Asians that are Black not African that are indiginous to Asia right now. Just a question, because Europe isn't that hospitable in terms of weather to melanin dominant people. Since we don't know much about these people, we will never know if they were adapted to the weather or they were from Africa directly!!!

    • @african-history-fountain
      @african-history-fountain  12 днів тому +7

      Every black person on Earth is ''FROM AFRICA DIRECTLY''. Even non-black people are ''FROM AFRICA DIRECTLY'', talk less of actual blacks. Lighter skinned humans are simply descendants of AFRICANS who left the continent tens of thousands of years ago and had their physical features altered due to various possible reasons, from climatic adaptation to genetic alteration. Any black person today who thinks he is ''not from Africa'' should go and conduct a DNA ancestry test, and save himself (or herself) from self deceit.

      Weather and climate does not affect black people in that way.
      Even Eskimos, Inuit, Sami etc were all originally black living in those cold dark climates and we're fine.
      The reading n they are paler skinned now is because of being whited out, not due to less sun making their skin change.
      Deeply melanated people were everywhere, not just coming out of Africa.
      Caucasian people came from other origins then genocide out black people in their civilizations due to envy then white out what was left of black people which it only takes a few generations before a black family has white looking grandchildren then all evidence of black ancestry in no longer visible. They didn't have camera to do family portraits back then but it is now showing up in ancestry DNA tests

    Great stuff, well done and I really enjoyed it. Thank you for making it and sharing it with us. Definitely there have a been a million lifetimes of true history forgotten, either accidently or purposely for sure. It has been my research and intuition, that Atlantis was a global civilization, the city in North Africa is where these 'Black Strangers' came from.
    Funny how history can repeat itself, have you ever seen video of the NBA before black people integrated? Hilariously lame at best! UA-cam, 'Globetrotters vs. Boston Celtics", 👍🏀👍

    • @Carl-b1q
      @Carl-b1q 12 днів тому +3

      I agree with you Atlantis was a global civilization. In fact, what has been suppressed was it was headquartered in North America, and was a black civilization. In fact, occultist Aliester Crowley confirmed this by citing the root A-tl as meaning "black woman."
      Moreover, maps from 300 to 500 years ago refered to North and South America as "Atlantis" as confirmed by the book The New Atlantis by the famed Francis Bacon in the 17th century which was about North America.

    The sea peoples were a vast population of black mullato and other brown skin peoples who spent their lives on raiding ships. These warriors were widespread it would make sense, Carthage had a vast powerful navy the truth can easily be discovered. They mixed with Europeans and easily blended in within 2 or 3 generations. DNA holds all the truth to prove it. Seek and ye shall find.

    This is what u call a sideways compliment. On 1 hand it lays out the history & accomplishment of so called black people in regions modern history has not them not to have played any part in. But on the other hand it blatantly enforces historical inaccuracies historically & continually promoted by so called academia and that is that caucasoid peoples r the original inhabitants of places like scottland(scott means black) or Ireland which was Iberia as in people from the Iberian Peninsula who were not caucasion. The dutch, Portuguese English,turkish,german, nth sth & central americas & adjoining islands, Polynesian melaneian,micronesian,Chinese,Australian etc have been documented as being and/or all beginning as dark complected people. So this notion that the dark people came from somewhere else into these lands is a farce & Flat out lie which perpetuates eurocentrcity which fosters white supremacist attitudes whether intentionally or unintentionally.

    • @african-history-fountain
      @african-history-fountain  10 днів тому

      Very inaccurate reading of the documentary. You need to understand the concept and relevance of dating. The video is referring to the period of the 9th century AD, not 4,000 to 40,000 BCE, which is the era you are referring to, when all of Europe was inhabited by black Africans, as shown by the discovery of the remains of Grimaldi Man, Ice Man, Cheddar Man, etc. By the 9th century AD, the European majority population was most definitely Caucasian. The Dubhgaill were an ethnic minority group in a largely white Europe.
