    8:56 haggling for a dollar or a few cents off in lower income countries as an American or European is ew to say the least.

      Personally, I’m not american so I know how the game works they always overcharge tourists so haggling in these countries is totally a normal thing!

      @ true! The thing is €3 euros or 3 dollars is a price we wouldn’t think twice of paying that in our own country. While on vacation, where your little money can go a long way for the locals… now 3 dollars is too much. And Istanbul doesn’t even have a big haggle culture compared to for example Morocco or Egypt (at least in my experience). Anyway, looking back now even though I still stand behind my message I could’ve said it differently. But if you can’t miss a dollar, can you even afford travel?
