Honestly, I already cannot see the difference between FC3 and HZD. I mean, yeah, my eyes notice the different engine and post-processing (twenty years of gaming gives you weird skills like that), but if you just take two screen-shots of these two games that both show off their scenic vistas, I would be hard-pressed to pick out which one is from 2012 and which one is from 2017. The future of graphics at this point is in the minute details. Facial animations, reflections on all surfaces, even more realistic physics and other immersion-reinforcing bits. Once we get all of those photo-realistic, we can finally start working on that pesky matrix thing.
SW BF is already there, one bad game is enough. But honestly I think Tomb Raider still looks good, if not better than TLoU. I also don't think GTAV looks all that great. Any 'realistic' looking game just always feels off to me. Not saying they look bad, but it doesn't look like real life or a video game so its in a weird spot of "eh". Like horizon looks gorgeous but not 'real' but that's a good thing.
