You need three things to secure your online accounts:
0) Password manager to generate strong and unique passwords
1) Second-factor authentication - the best option is NitroKey Fido or YubiKey, followed by USB or app-based 2FA one-time-passwords.
2) Good OPSEC - or operations security - without it, no tool can save you.

"thank you for watching"
no, thank you for teaching
This channel really is underrated. The video was excellent
Very true
Big brother don't want you to know about this channel, that's why we need to share, cause they are not showing it, even if you are subscribed
It's a good thing. He would get caught if he's famous enough by leaking dark secrets of the internet.
It’s suppressed, glad I found it before he gets too big and google notices
i guess im randomly asking but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account??
I was stupid forgot the password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me!
Everyone should watch this video. Twice. And then implement it, if they haven't already. Good stuff, looking forward to the next in the series!
I've liked it now am commenting for the algorithm to show this yo as many people as possible
I use google password management, and my main account have a strong master password and 2-way authentication, If google turn evil everybody will be doomed anyway...
@Brendon O´connell. Hey Pal, Russians and Ukranians hates Israelies so I don´t think Ysrael are going to contract that craps. Ysrael is highest in security and Windows Defender is not, so I don´t think is developed in Ysrael. Microsoft CPUs are made in Costa Rica and México and are not 100% safe so I don´t think are made in Yisrael.
@@ivanguerra1260 Are you 100 % sure... LOL,,,, Russia has many, many, jews as does Ukriane, where do you think the ashkinazi and kazar jews came from Poland, ukraine, Russia..
You gotta be American... Check the Jew names in Isrehell they are all for USSR Countries. you really dont know much about Israhell do you..... Isnt it funny how Netanhayu,, brags about the AMD and INTEL head offices are in Israhel and they have contol of security.... LOL
I agree
Anyone else or only me?
My friends don't take me seriously when i talk about online privacy, web trackers, how Google and Facebook collect data.
I am also a Emraan Hashmi fan
favorite movie JANNAT 1
@@tech_founder_5380 Emraan hashmi ♥️♥️
@outcasted sushiboi Once i was also explaining how these companies mine our data to my sister, then she said so what they only show ads nothing serious.
Me: 😵😵
Is out of sight out of mind, so there’s no direct connection
Same but some of my family follows me.
This comment is to thank you for everything you do man, I really appreciate your efforts. I really hope the Algorithm will do this video and your channel justice.
Dude I used to have the same exact profile picture for 3 years and a decade as my older phones wallpaper
One of the stupidest things which I have seen people do is not logging out of their Gmail accounts on public computers or not using incognito mode. I've been to the printing shop of my university and it's not very uncommon to see forgetting to click sign out after downloading the attachment and clicking print. SMH... No amount of strong passwords or measures can save these people.
*@Normal Person*
Yeah, It happened today someone on school was still signed with his google account on google chrome without 2FA. I was able to find out that he uses 9gag, 4shared, pocket mortys, asian dating site, hentai, porn, with all the passwords and usernames because he uses the build in chrome password save feature and sync feature.
he uses 3 Email adresses Gmail, hotmail, fake/ familiy email and his passwords are basically the same with small differences. So i fucked with his google account, the first thing i did is changing his gender to attack helicopter then i blocked 9gag and Pocket mortys form having access to his google account and added a note on google keep saying, Why do you trust people on your google account. with a picture of a donkey and also improved his privacy a bit.
Not to long ago i was at a techseller in germany. I sit down next to a random gaming pc and open the browser and 2 sec later i have access to someones Facebook acc he did not log out off.
@@SYS_Alberto That was savage... One of the freshmen at my college was signed in to Windows 10 Mail in the lab computer and obviously forgot to sign out. I mailed from his email to himself that this is him from the future. Wrote some random shit about how he's going to be a loser forever. How stupid he was to even signing in Windows Mail and not signing out later.
It was fun.
@@SYS_Alberto Good thing you teach him a lesson to not be a Idiot.
I reply to all their email contacts with "Don't tell anyone but I need to tell someone that I'm gay". They never forget to log out afterwards.
Thanks you taught me some stuff that I didn’t know I appreciate it
Thanks again. Been following your channel for a while. Totally changed my digital life :)
Thank you. Gonna support your work on patreon! keep up!
I never actually answer security questions. I just use them as secundary/recovery passwords
Up ur Game
AFAIU answers to those questions are stored in plain text, so customer service can check them manually if needed. So if you reuse the same answer everywhere, that should make you more vulnerable if any company where you have an account gets hacked, even more than re-using a password would.
Security questions like name of your school, pets name, etc all can be found on social media. That picture of you in your favorite team jersey just answered googles 2FA questionaire.
@@Froddofromtheshire No one is grading them, you can provide incorrect answers to those questions (as mentioned in the video)
@@Froddofromtheshire 8:03 if you provide fake answers, but only you know what the fake answer is, you have already functionally disallowed someone from checking your social media as a cheat sheet.
This channel deserves more recognition.
Yes it needs to be viewed again to pick up all the good stuff if you are new to this area.
Thanks for all your hard work to protect us!
I am honestly daunted by the whole security thing because I'm an idiot when it comes to tech, but you actually make these videos digestible for someone like me. We need people like you THO.
This dude is the only one I trust when it comes to internet security and such things
Plot twist- The Hated One is actually a hacker and enjoys helping others defend against hackers just to make it harder and more exciting for him to hack!
blue team that helps people at day, red team/black hat at night xD
soo good to hear a voice in the Dark that is teaching us about opsec.
Can't wait for the rest of the series. I literally know nothing about securing my phone other than encrypting the files (which I think Android does by default now)
This is great for non-tech people. Shared. Keep up the great work!
Nitro key more expensive than I thought, but I am still buying it. Thank you your channel is great as always!
Every video tutorial the Hated One does is on point.
This channel is gold
This is why I love this channel so much!!
Keep it up!
Best Channel ive come across on UA-cam
Watched several of your videos which have been very useful in making my device more secure and of course use my device differently. Definitely a great channel ! The hated one isn't hated by all....
As someone who is completely ignorant of anything to do with security on the web, other than spotting obvious phishing emails, this video was awesome. Subbed
Excellent video. Answered a lot of my questions. Looking forward to the sequels.
Thank you man ! I only knew about 2fa so far.
Great job! If people use these tips they made huge steps into the right direction!
This is superb stuff. Essential viewing for all concerned about privacy and security. I sincerely hope it gets a huge number of views. He’s not the hated one to us, but a greatly valued one! Looking forward to the rest of this series.
He’s the one hated by the people who he calls out for the stuff that they do behind the scene s.
Yes! Even though I probably already know most of what's here, courtesy of many other of THO's videos and privacy io, I've been waiting for this video.
Your annual privacy and security vids are indispensable! THANK YOU!
Thank you for this informative video. Can't wait to see the whole video series.
surely going to send this to my friends. great video!
I have learned so much from your channel and would like to let you know how grateful I am.
Thanks for the advice as always!
Thanks a lot man. I talk about privacy with pretty much everyone I know and I always recommend your channel, you're great.
Excellent video. Many of these things I should already be doing but are not- and I know better. I will have to change my ways.
The hated one, thank you for all the hard work.
Firstly I want to say thanks to you and some reputable UA-camrs I do 100% of the video.
For some places in the world a yubikey it's too expensive or simply unavailable.I faced the problem of 2f auth with authy until I can get one.
I know it's proprietary but it's the only solution...that it's free, encrypts and most importantly sync.
So in case of a disaster let's say , phone breaks or yubikey got lost/stolen I can still access accounts and change password if needed. If you harden it with fake emails and no real info it's pretty safe until an open source solution emerge like it did with P.M and bitwarden.
Also if possible please buy the premium for bitwarden and protonmail , you get a TON OF FUTURE'S for pennies and it helps both you and the community.
wow thank you so much, since long ago I felt that I needed a tutorial like this. this is great
This channel is incredible!
I really appreciate and enjoy the insights that you have passed on to me and others watching. i have learned so much and have put much of what you have described into action.
thanks again!
Good, concise advice that applies to everyone. Thanks.
Excellently done! And thank you.
A brilliant video ... the comments are clear and very pedagogical. I learnt and I'm still learning a lot. Thanks for all this excellent work 🙏
Kinda tired rn so i'm saving this one to watch tomorrow
Valuable information, as usual
Yup yup yup! Engagement comment, so that it reaches as many people as possible. Waiting for next videos in the series.
Absolutely love your videos!
Nice, Thanks
Great advice. Thanks!
Superb tutorial, thanks kindly!
Thank you so much for this great advice. I appreciate your work very much.
Good advices. I wish more people would protect themselves.
Great video! I hope the rest of the upcoming series is as simple-worded/spoken and straight forward as this. I'll be forwarding links to the lot off to my parents. They've been in need of this knowledge, put forth as you have here, coming from someone of your level of experience with a good reputation (even if you are The Hated One). Thanks in advance for the time and effort you'll be injecting into this project. Cheers!
Thank you, it's a pleasure to watch. Great video.
You are great bro.
Ok I'll comment, geez!
Cheers from Argentina
really appreciated these type of content
Amazing video, thanks for everything!
Thanks for the video, i have recently begin to experience the effects of getting your account data-leaked, and getting a lot of annoying spam emails, that i know will just try to get me virus or something, so i have started to use a password manager, as well as a new email address. Just to be sure that i don't get any account hacked at some point.
So thank you for making this informative video.
Great video. Must watch
Great video as always. I subscribed!
Great information. Thank you!
I just found your channel, it's amazing!
Lots of good stuff.
Thanks so much for making this video it helped me a ton!
Really Appreciate All your work
Thank you for the help man!
Soo much quality information that is realistic.
Thank you man great video!
Thank you!
Excellent advice
we need more people like you. thanks:
The Edward Snowden interview kill it all yo🦖
Soo good I really learned a lot about cyber security today👍
Thanks for the advice
Thanks for this!
Opsec tip number x. Work with your family so they know what to watch out for. There are way too many people clicking on links over sms right after they got a group chat message from one of their friends. This help reduce the chance that you make a mistake when dealing with compromised relatives
Wow! Good tips!
Love the channel man, keep it up
Going to be switching distros soon, definitely going to implement this
Not sure how those are related? PW safes are usually just a file you can copy over, and everything else mentioned here is about online settings.
Just saying, don't procrastinate it. ;)
Thank you!!!
neatly described...in a world of constantly emerging news of security breaches...the video is relevant and helpful.
It is certainly interesting to watch.
Keep up the good work, been thinking of buying a 2FA key
SINCERELY, ONE OF THE BEST VIDEOS EVER MADE. THANKS FOR YOUR PRECISE INFO. IF PEOPLE PAY ATTENTION TO THESE TIPS, WOULD BE A SAFIER INTERNET.
