A Day In The Ko'olau Mountains, Hawaii

- Опубліковано 26 вер 2024
- Time to revisit one of Hawaii's 100 Highest Peaks and spend a day in the Ko'olau Mountains. Today's journey takes my visiting friend and me to Lanipo Peak (Pu'u Lanipo) which lies on top of the KST not far from the popular Wiliwilinui Ridge. Let's see how my friend's first KSt traverse will end up.

Hi~ Hungaro- Enjyoed~ so amazing upload! bye~ ;)
Hi and thanks!🤙🏻
NICE!! 💯💪🏼
Thanks 🤙🏻
First comments, long time viewer. Appreciate all your work you do on presenting the backcountry of Hawaii. Been over to visit 4 times in the last two years and as much as you have inspired me I’m yet to do a ridge line trail.
Thankfully I have had the good fortune to complete the Kalalau trail, Haleakala Crater from summit to the rainbow bridge, Halawa Valley on Molokai, love the channel!!
Mahalo Larry for being a loyal follower. It means a lot to me that people like you watching my videos and they get inspired. I always want to present the real Hawaii wilderness to you and the viewers.
It is great that you have been able to backpack Kalalau and Haleakala, those are sone of the best backpacking trips you can do in Hawaii. Molokai is a special places too🤙🏻⛰️🌈
Another fantastic hike. I've done Mauʻumae Ridge up to Lanipō but never crossed that section of the KST. I'll try your approach once the weather improves, it's a little too windy and wet right now. Keep the videos coming. Mahalo.
Thank You Adrian! I really like that you writing the Hawaiian names of the trails and peaks here. 🤙🏻 wait until weather gets better for a better experience!
I can write them, but pronouncing them is still a challenge!
@HungaroExplorer
Haha, I get that!
Fantastic video. Thank you for sharing. 👍54
Thank You!
Amazing Video!! I like all your hiking content!
Looks like I’m adding another one to my “ hawaii hikes” list! 😃
Thank You Zsanett!😊 Well, it is a fun one for your list, just be safe up there 🤙🏻
Awesome video and fantastic views!!! That hike was tough but beautiful!!! You must be in good condition to do that challenging hike and know where you are going!!! Thank God you are an expert hiker, Nandor!!! I enjoyed this video immensely!!! Keep up the good work, Nandor!!!! Mahalo :)
Mahalo Lita!🤙🏻
Nandor, that was amazing! Looks dangerous though...... Glad you returned so we can witness your hike. Bill
Thank You Bill! Well, danger is subjective, right?:D
This video is fantastic; you did an awesome job editing and hats off for the narration! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It was a wonderful experience, thank you for everything!⭐️
Mahalo my friend! Next time I take you to another fun outing🤙🏻
@@HungaroExplorer can’t wait for the next adventure in Hawaii ⛰
Nice work!! Great video! I actually hit this one yesterday from Mau’umae trailhead. It was rainy and cloudy like normal. That last exposed traverse over to Pu’u Lanipo is legit and not for the faint of heart, especially as that wind is kicking around!
Thanks Paul! Yepp, Mau’umae is another good ridge to access it, glad you like the trip. Yeah, that crossover to Lanipo is fun 😄🤙🏻
Looks like a great hike. Once you get to the ridge on the Wiliwili trail (and ignore the sign) do you hike the ridge toward Ka'a creator to get to Lanipo Peak?
Yes, you have to take the ridge towards Ka’au Crater. You will start crosiing towards those big electric lines, they even have some ropes to help you for part of the way.
Great video as usual 🤙🏽 first thing I thought was kst without pants? Soldier
Mahalo! He was a soldier for sure😄
Thanks, Nandor. Had lots of good memories of doing that traverse.
I bet Dayle! Thanks for tuning in!
so they are taking down the beautiful stair but leaving the ugly powerlines? money well spent right?!
They don’t care ablut mountaim esthetics, just what is good for the “low-lander hunans”…😂
salutari din Romania, mega fain totul in clip.
Salutari si mutumesc frumos! Bine ai venit pe channel! 🤙🏻
