This song shows you why you can’t throw them into a specific genre. They play blues, funk, rock, and the middle of the song there is something you’d hear off of a horror movie soundtrack. It’s an emotional roller coaster. Soul Train Bro said D. Gilmour’s guitar was a peacock mating call. lol And how ANYONE can stay still during the bass transition is beyond me

Those that think that what they have to say is more important than the music and it can not wait until the song is over? NOPE! There's NOTHING that you might have to say that is that important, believe me! Later...

This is without a doubt my single favorite piece by Pink Floyd. On hearing it and buying the album back in the 80s (it was already more than a decade old by then) I listened to it religiously and still will pause everything to listen again. I created a character, Ping, searching for her Echo, to this, it's such a glorious whole world they created here. I loved seeing the expressions, knowing what sudden change or slow creep would show up next and seeing it play out.

@@Serai3 This tune is also creating altered states , into what scientist call counter space / other dimensions. What it is doing is re-connecting Europeans to their Ancestors and deep hidden archtypes unique to them . Robert plant told me and few other people who got to chat with him something similar . He said he got most of his tunes from his Ancestors , it flawed most of the people in the room . We had quite a lengthly conversation about this subject . As far as i know he has touched on this in the media etc , there is way more going on in this music than most realize . ( Plant clealry knows this too)

@@parabot2 Oh yeah, there was a deep vein of spirituality and mysticism running through the music coming out of the UK in the late 60s and early 70s. It was obvious with Plant, who openly wrote about some of those themes. Then there's the whole saga of Page and his Crowley thing. Lots of deep meaning running through that prog rock, even more than most people realized. Some of us explored it, though. :)

Andy is one of the few reactionaires who shuts the fuck up and listens. But I'm not convinced he hasn't heard the stuff before.
He just seems a liiiiiiiitle bit too enthusiastic too quickly for me to believe that it's all brand new to him.
