So glad I found your channel- I’ve only recently purchased one of these cutters and I wondered why it wasn’t cutting all the way through and how on earth I was going to fix it- thank you so much for the comprehensive explanation and demonstration.
OMG!! I'm about to cry from excitement, I really needed this video. THANK YOU!! I am sure that is what my cuter is missing. I will try later today and see if it works.
I watched another of your videos and found the information I needed. Thank you so much I have been looking for days. You definitely covered everything. Fantastic videos
The piece that holds the papers down in place is higher on on send. Should it be like that that is causing my papers to move when cutting and its not cutting even
Hi, in this video ---> ua-cam.com/video/YIFWl7hFv2s/v-deo.html, I showed how to adjust the fence that holds the paper down if it is uneven. However, in this video ----> ua-cam.com/video/ucS7fAx-Zls/v-deo.html, I was sharing what I understood and tips I was implementing to try and improve the cuts I was getting with my cutter. Someone shared something they did that straightened the blade's angle by tightening a bolt. I intend to try it out for myself soon once I can get our new school year going. Hopefully, it may be helpful to you:) Thank you for watching!
My guilotine is cutting at a weird downward angle, like its not square! Like when i stand a book up, the "top" of the cut will be 3-4mm taller than the bottim of the cut. Do you know what bolts might fix this? I cant find a tutorial on how to adjust it anywhere
Hi. This is such a late response, but now found time to do more research into this issue. Since It's one, I have experienced also. Not sure this would still be useful to you, but I shared a recent video on UA-cam talking more about that angled Cut. To your specific question about if there is a bolt to re-adjust that blade, I reopened it, and I have seen no way to do this. I addressed this in the video and spoke more about why I believe the blade cuts the way it does. This is the video here if interested---> ua-cam.com/video/ucS7fAx-Zls/v-deo.html Thanks for watching the above video and commenting!
First, new subscriber because of your EXCELLENT videos for this machine! I had decided not to buy this because of Amazon negative reviews, but you have set my mind at ease. May I ask if you have an affiliate link for the 12" model? If not, please ass one so I can buy from your link when I decide to purchase it. Thank you so much!
Hi, thank you for your kind comment, subscribing, and watching the video! I am glad it was helpful. The direct affiliate link for the A4 12'' model is ---> amzn.to/3PwaAPD . To be transparent, my affiliate link for the model I have, attached above, works on any purchase made within 24 hours of going to Amazon using that link. Even if it is a different product, like the 12'' model :) The more I used the machine I discovered new things. In my last video, I shared that even though the machine cuts excellently, the larger the book or stack of papers, the harder it might be to get a perfect 90-degree cut. And the degree to which it is off depends on how big the project one is cutting into is. Recutting can help when cutting books, and working with smaller cuts at a time, like 1/2 inch and below, can give an almost perfect 90-degree angled cut. Perfection is not imperative in my use case scenario, but sharing in case it would be helpful if you haven't seen that video.
@@MommyShareSpace Thank you for the link! Yes, I watched that video. In a different video from a lady who makes books, she suggests two things to help with achieving straight cuts. 1- Do not tighten the hold down clamp too much, because that could pull the stack out of alignment. 2- Using thin double sided tape, attach 220 grit sandpaper strips. One to the bottom plate where the stack sits, and one to the underside of the clamp down. This helps prevent the stack from shifting under clamping and cutting pressure. I can find that video for you, if you would like..
You're welcome! Oh, that's great. Yes, I would like to see the video :) I want to try an angled block there, as someone suggested, so it would be great to see other options.
