- 🇮🇳 I heard that in the north of Delhi was a camp that was set up for Hindu refugees that had fled persecution in Pakistan and so I headed there to see how their lives were progressing. As it turned out, not too well 😔
Update: Sanjeev who is a subscriber organised found out what the leader of their community would like help with. One thing that was mentioned was a cow so the kids can drink milk. Anyone know the cost of a cow in Delhi and where we can buy one? I obviously have no idea about these things
Actually that is a very bad idea because they are simply gonna fight even for who gets more milk and who is actually the owner of the cow after you go and someone might try to sell the cow secretly to earn some money. And they do not have sufficient money for themselves , So how are they gonna feed the cow.

And i live in a village area and there is slum near our locality ,So i know what kind of mentality these people have. And i am not against donating them usefull stuff but donating a cow is not a good idea.

One man with a camera can travel, document, edit, and produce a 20 minute show every few days that captures and entertains 1.4 million subscribers. Yet ABC,BBC, NBC... produce crap. Big Bang Theory's three primary actors each received 1 million per episode and produced 24ish episodes per year or about 8 hours of "work". What a sad comment on the entertainment industry. Hollywood, we don't want or need you.

about a year ago a nice japanaese lady was at my normal dog park, and i heard her speak in japanese on the phone so i just pulled out the ogenkidesuka and there was an immediate smile on her face.
or whenever i'm at one of the big metal festivals here in europe (i often go to graspop and wacken) i can usually pull out whatever language my neighbors are speaking and hold a conversation. granted, most of the time it's something germanic and i'm a fleming, so all of it is fairly easy to translate.
i also found out romanian is a very easy language to learn that way. way easier than french.
hell, even italian and spanish i'm better at than french.
the wonders of living in a country with 3 official languages, french, german, dutch, and where my culture, flemish is about 90% proficient in english too.
i've been told by some tourists they hate that part lol, as every time they try to speak a few words of dutch, we just immediately pull out the impeccable english.
i think i probably speak... 7? languages and can understand like 20 to a pretty good degree (although speaking them is harder)

My family also came as refugees from Pakistan in 1947. My grandfather was 23. He came with his widowed mother and younger sister. Took us about 35 years to become home owners again and climb back into the middle class. It was a tough life.

Just quick update everyone: I read all the messages from people with suggestions. Thanks. A few things: We need to be realistic with what I can achieve on the first trip. People are saying build this, install this, teach them this...but those are major projects on land they do not own. Nothing permanent can be built there.
1) What we can do is buy blankets, mosquito nets, clothes, sanitary essentials for women. That is first.
2) Solar lighting so they have some light at night. I need to investigate where to buy such things in `Delhi.
3) What kind of water purifier can I buy? Remember there is no electricity there. We need to solve this question.
4) I would like to take a doctor there with medicine. Anybody know someone?
5) People are saying talk to the government but this is not possible. Remember I am just a tourist and what I am doing is probably illegal in some way and will get me kicked out of India.
6) I like the idea of buying some bicycles and sewing machine
7) What about hair cutting materials like scissors and then a small hut. Then we promote it to tourists and make it a place where tourists go and get haircuts in Delhi to contribute. Westerners like that kind of stuff. Maybe Indian people too could go and get a haircut just to contribute. I could make a few episodes there. Get other you tubers to do the same. That is for a second trip maybe.

Hire a good rickshaw driver, he/she will take you to right market for getting supplies 🙂 Also, please keep your visit to refugee camp as a suspense. If you reveal the date, you might get hounded by scamsters, local government body officials, TRP hungry media & your cause of helping them will be lost.
Like you say you can only do so much with the restraints that you have, lack of funds, time, and not being a native, the sanitary products are a great idea, and soap, washing powder for clothes ect. what ever you do, even if its a little, to them its a lot, the barbers shop is a great idea, that's money coming in on a regular bases, good luck my man... also open the go fund again please? then I can at least give something, your 3k wont last long, after the nets the place has to be cleaned, to stop the infestation of vermin and mosquitoes, that costs nothing to pick up rubbish and dispose of it, and when ppl live in a clean environment it gives them pride that they don't live in a shit hole too

What I honestly don't understand, is....it's their piece of land. They, and only they, live there. It seems like they have a lot of free time. Why not clean up a bit? I'm not expecting asphalt roads, marble walkways etc, but just a broom made from some branches can work miracles there!! Why don't they do it? They have to walk through it all day!!

Watch the movie "Train to Pakistan" or try to watch documentaries about what happened to Hindu refugee caravans coming to India. They were brutally attacked by Muslims in Pakistan side. Muslim caravans were also attacked but as always Hindu's and Sikh's were targeted more, especially in Pakistan's side of Punjab.
As I said, the smart ones left before partition. The rest got what they deserved.

There should be process to 'check' the refugee is real 'refugee'. Criminals can escape one government and live continue activities in India. That said the 'process' should decide with in a month 'Yes' or 'No'. Our government is still looking at Bangla 'refugee' after 45 years still not decided. Guess about next generation born in India- They are automatically 'Indians'. The problem with this infinite time taken by government is now big portion of Assam has become 'Bangla'. At the cost Assamese are driven away.

The man was saying the officials don't allow them to build houses of bricks, they come and break down the houses if built. And they abuse the refugees and ask them to go somewhere else. They had dredged the sand for building houses, but were never allowed by the officials.
In the end you should not have distributed money like that. Instead you could have arranged for some food for all the next day.

First of all, I am an Indian living in Delhi but completely oblivous to this fact. Neither Media shows it nor we are interested to know who these people are. But now, I must say, B&B is doing a great job, real journalism in fact.
Also, I have seen big Indian youtubers with 100x in size than B&B doing nothing for the community and here is B&B with such a small group of fans, half of them not even related to India, but did something marvelous(completed double the fund target in just 5 hours). This is the best part of humanity and Social Media. With great power, comes greater responsibilities. I am proud that you are using it in the right way. Hats off, Mr. Bald.

We both work and live in a hotel in Madrid and we were really worried about catching the virus cause for a few weeks after china and italy closed borders we kept having people from those countries come stay at our hotel. We have been closed for about 2 weeks now, thank God, and we have no symptoms so i think we are good. Stay safe my friend. We will all get through this and come out the other end stronger, but we all have to contribute to the cause by staying inside and only going out for absolute necessities 💪
