I'm glad you talked about Nightwatching because that is what I really wanted to get to, and I haven't heard anyone talk about it yet! Can't wait to get this!
You'll have to let me know what you think. There were so many great books can see how some get lost in the shuffle, but I've been telling everyone to read it 🖤
I’ve read “Everyone Who Can Forgive Me is Dead”, “One Wrong Word”, and “Nightwatching”. Not gonna lie, it took me a while to get into “Everybody”. I’m not much of a DNF person but considered this. Thankfully, by page 100 or so I was invested and the rest flew by. I found it interesting (and annoying) that there were zero names in Nightwatching. Referring to people as their job or title or whatnot is a bit rude to me, but 🤷🏻♀️. It was still a good read. I liked One Wrong Word quite a lot. I did semi guess where things were going to go, but there were still surprises and such. This was probably my favorite of these 3 mentioned.
I hear you on "Everybody". I just read another slow burn book and sometimes I just want things to start popping. It's one of my fave story set-ups -- past/present mysteries + college + secrets comes back to haunt you -- I always love to see how different authors put a stamp on the story. And yes to One Wrong Word - kept me engaged and enjoyed the ride!
@ChapterandConverse It was pretty good, nothing like it that I had read , it does have twist I know she has another book, The Couple, across the street going to put that on my tbr .
I was thinking I didn't enjoy the book, Luckiest Girl Alive. But then I remembered I didn't read the book, I watched the Netflix movie, which I did not like..... so maybe I should give the book a chance.
I haven't seen the show. I want to reread it and then get Netflix back and watch it! Haha!! I really enjoy Jessica Knoll as an author - I went down a rabbit hole of interviews after I read Bright Young Women and feel like I like her even more after hearing her talk about her process and particularly about the, admittedly dark, inspiration for Luckiest Girl Alive. I need to be in the right headspace for it but it's on my list!
Night watching was excellent. It was hard to put the book down. This book is felt through your entire body but difficult to put down. I don’t think I have ever felt the way I did. It is difficult to describe but was extremely palpable. Read it!
