Growing up in the Bay Area in the 80's I used to watch this and Too Close For Comfort as a kid and always thought it was cool seeing the local scenery in the openings and closings
The final season of Two Close for Comfort was renamed The Ted Knight Show, and sometimes The New Ted Knight Show. When the episodes were released in syndication it went back to the name Too Close for Comfort. This final season did well in the ratings, but Ted Knight died before a new season could be filmed.
Satisfactorily acted but wretchedly written episode. This guy is committing two crimes: trafficking in underage porn and blackmailing. Henry basically kowtows to him to protect this young woman, by giving into the guy’s demands. How does he know this person isn’t doing the same to other women? They should have had him set up a sting through the police to nail this bastard. I don’t believe this episode has a happy ending.
Many of the show's episodes bordered on mediocrity and at times, just plain bad, when the show went to first-run syndication. And Monroe became more stupider every season.
Glad he saved one person from their pictures being out there. And just before the dawn of the internet. If it happened twenty years later, he could not have helped her like he did.
These episodes (the ones co-starring Pat Carroll) aired as The Ted Knight Show in my area...this must be an episode from a syndication rerun package for "Too Close for Comfort" and the editors simply removed the original title from the screen and replaced it with the sitcom's earlier title. All episodes officially titled "Too Close For Comfort" featured exteriors of the bright red house whereas the episodes originally titled "The Ted Knight Show" featured this opening sequence.
MetroMedia Producers (now Fox Television Stations, Inc.) had to make cuts when Too Close For Comfort was brought for first-run syndication. When the show was first renamed The Ted Knight Show for its final season, the 2 daughters were dropped for financial reasons and the writing was on par with other first-run syndicated shows at the time: Poor.
Old Ted Baxter was indeed playing a great role . Pretending to be an idiot. In the Industry, often times the label sticks to the actor -- becoming a terrible burden. Fortunately it was not the case regarding Ter Kight.
This Lisa girl was absent in four episodes, huh? If you ask me, she should never have appeared in any of them at all. Especially The Bedtime For Henry Episode. With actresses like her, who needs Fay Wray's? I really hate it (And Lisa) when women and actresses scream in terror like that. She should've been part of The Freddy Krueger Franchise instead and it's not exactly a complement.
Goodness this music takes me back!!! Jesus those were some good days.
God bring us back to good time .

That’s right it is
Loved this series. The 80s were a great era
Yessir
I was just commenting on the same thing..😊❤
Growing up in the Bay Area in the 80's I used to watch this and Too Close For Comfort as a kid and always thought it was cool seeing the local scenery in the openings and closings
This is the most soothing theme song I've ever heard. So enjoyable.
Love it
I agree! I love it!
👍🏾
This takes me back 0:16 simpler comforting times.
I enjoyed this show as a teenager. It would come on in the summer around 1pm, and I loved it.
Teen years, summer sleeping in, tv in the a.c. at 1pm, the whole day in front of u.....the 80’s.
Thanks for the memories. ✌🏻
@@friedricengravy6646 TRULY !!!!
You too?! They used to always play this back to back with Three's Company during the summer and on weekends. Such comfort TV viewing for me.
What an absolute GEM of a show. It really is heart felt. Thank you for posting. And yes, the theme song is so nice!
It take me back to the beautiful 80’s
Wow this brings back memories from my childhood. I use to watch it with my mom every week.

Thank you for clarifying this confusing history .
Damn I lived this series 🥺
Monroe: " You belong in a tank!", Henry: " You belong under a tank!!" 😆 💘 Legendary!!😊 💘Love them!
Correct me if I’m wrong: life years ago was taken in a more happy-go-lucky manner back then.
grew up watching this show...
That was a good episode. Great acting by all.

The "Real" Star " of the show, Monroe!! 💘 😆 😍 😆 💘 😊 😍 😆
Continue RIHP, Conedic Emperor, Mr. Ted Knight! Thank you for the memories!! Loved him in. Caddyshack, also!! 💘 😆 😍 😊 💘
Omg this bring back some good memories
I got excited and thought for a second that it was going to have the extremely rare "Ted Knight Show" title in the opening but no such luck
Glad he saved one person from their pictures being out there. And just before the dawn of the internet. If it happened twenty years later, he could not have helped her like he did.
Thanks for the Upload 👍 !! Very cute series !! XD A guess a new take on Venessa Williams.. XD
Great show.r.i.p. Ted knight.🥶💯
What a good Man to help Peggy out.
One of my favorites as a kid.
Patricia, did you appear in other sitcoms? You are so darling as Miss Marin Bugler!🎀👣💛

Correct!
I really loved Ted Knight in this show so much better than when he was on the MTM show.. but that's just my opinion!
love this beginning - reminds me of michigan - the show is ok - BUT THE BEGINNING - didn't the girls get old and married when leaving the old show -
This theme song makes want to sail around San Francisco Bay on a yacht with a glass of scotch and plate of cracked lobster in front of me.
I think I might like this version of the opening theme better. Both are such soft rock bangers.😅
Last Man Standing could learn from this, dont replace main cast actors and hope to keep the ratings up
The ratings were still fine when this episode aired. The only reason the show ended was because Ted Knight died.
what was your experience meeting the late ted knight?
Ted turning the pictures around to get a better look 😆
Wish these shows were still playing. I am tied of golden girls. I love the show I am just tied of watching it
Featuring Jim J Bullock from the John Davidson era of Hollywood Squares!!
Too bad we can't see the whole series of this you can't even buy it
Did anybody noticed that Monroe pulled back from a kiss from beauty queen?
What are you implying ?
❤️💙💚💛
Did they really misspell Jim J’s name in the opening credits??
No, they didn't. He went by JM J., back then.
"JM" is an old-time abbreviation for James. Think "WM" for William.
Monroe, always an accident waiting to hapoen!! 😆💘 😆 😍 😊 💘 😆
Wow, you look the same as you did then. And this was like 40 years ago.
Lol They talk about $1,000.00 like its $100,000.00 lol
A sale boat for a grand?? Lol
Well people do things the way they do them and the comments are really ugly that's not nice calling people names
Henry's about to be a dead man!! 😆
why did they write out the 2 daughters
I always wondered too .. I think because there character's where not that funny ...

LoL The 80s were so dramatic! Cell phone cameras and the internet have somewhat diminished how detrimental this would be to someone’s career
I use to watch this but I don't know why?
It was this or go to play outside.
I just said the same thing. Lol
Is this season 6?
Was.

If it was real life, living in that city and in that house they'd be able to come up with. $1,000 very easily.
I had a crush on monroe.mm
What's your ethnic background?
She's half Japanese half caucasian american
@@dthompson5234 Thanks!
Iwatch these with careful eye blacking out inside all that is not Ted knight
You really gorgeous in that blue bathing suit.
So dumb to retool the show without the daughters.
Such poor writing.
Very true!
Lol my mom drove a VW hatchback. Woah
