  • Abuja Nigeria.
Maitama is one of the top and most expensive residential districts in Abuja city. It is also the safest and most beautiful in terms of the environment. Many expatriates (expat), politicians, abuja biog men, ambassadors live in Maitama.
This video is a drive through Maitama abuja, so you could see how beautiful this place is. there is also a drone shot of maitama included in this video to give you a better perspective of this beautiful place in abuja nigeria.
Abuja Master Plan is divided into phases. The Phase 1 area of the city is divided into five districts which are : the Central, the Garki, Wuse, Maitama, and Asokoro.
There are also five districts in Phase 2. They are Kado, Durumi, Gudu, Utako and Jabi. And the Phase 3 districts are Mabuchi, Katampe, Wuye and Gwarimpa.
There are five suburban districts: Nyanya, Karu, Gwagwalada, Kubwa, and Jukwoyi.
Along the Airport Road are clusters of satellite settlements, namely Lugbe, Chika, Kuchigworo and Pyakassa. Other satellite settlements are Idu (the main industrial zone), Mpape, Karimu, Gwagwa, Dei-Dei (housing the International Livestock market and also International Building materials market).

One thing I like about Abuja is the trees planted every where, it makes Abuja unique and similar to most European cities. Wow! It's high time we Nigerians should start to appreciate the beauty of Nigeria and stop painting our country black on social medias. It's very painful that the outside world are perceiving Nigeria with a negetive views. Please lets control the way we blackmail Nigeria and work together for a greater Nigeria. @Juneyd, life in Nigeria can be cheap and expensive as well, it all depends on what you are looking for.
If you are concerned about running a business and making connections, Lagos is your better spot. In every state in Nigeria, including Lagos, you will find cheap or expensive accommodation, no what budget you have, you will have something. If you want to come to Nigeria, you have apply for visa in Nigeria embassy in your country. You will normally get 30days entry visa, after which you can extend. As for tourism, there are lots of place in Nigeria, it all depends on your focus I will say.

"Expatriate" does not convey any sense of inferiority complex. It has nothing to do with the term "expert" or some other hint that Caucasians are inherently better skilled or smarter than us. It is simply saying that they live outside their native country. For e.g when Shell cross-posts a Nigerian from PH to The Hague, the said Nigerian becomes an expatriate in the Netherlands.... and when they return it's a "repatriation".
Most Europeans in , PH ABJ and LAG, are indeed expatriates because they are in Nigeria for work/business.
Now if you are referring to the ,Levantine(Syrian and Lebanese) or Indian, long time settlers, then that's a different issue.... There is no documented (or noticeable) trend of significant Caucasian Euro/USA to Nigerian migration.
