Correction: The Korg M1 EX sound (4:21) is likely from a Korg T2 instead. We talked with someone who worked with Naofumi Hataya in 90's and according to him they had a Korg T2 in SEGA. Considering how the Korg T2 = Korg M1 + EX in a single synthesizer, we believe a T2 was used instead of the M1 and EX. Anyway the sound is correct, you should be able to find it in Korg T2.
0:26 Wait! That's a guitar? Wow, and all this time I thought it was a piano (well, a digital piano anyways) that was playing every time I listened to that song. It's discovery's like these that make me enjoy watching videos like these, thanks.
0:503:36 I think this guitar may be my favorite instrument utilized in this soundtrack… Both of these instances strike nostalgia for, oddly enough, the tracks used in Brawl's trophy gallery, and the sticker/replay menus.
Thank you for your comment! One thing that we usually do to help those findings is trying to isolate the channels. Although isolations hardly give perfect results, when we isolated this guitar we noticed the choir seems to be there, while the JV-80 guitar don't have this choir. So the conclusion is that this is a JD-800 guitar, because in JD-800 it has the choir.
Honestly, i would love if Naofumi Hataya and Masafumi Ogata came back for make music for the Sonic Games, maybe a CD Sequel or something. Their style is so different from the rest of the classic games. Bdw, do you know by any chance the drum kit for Collision Chaos Present?
Agreed! I don't have the drum kit, but the main snare is from Roland R8 and Korg 01/w, the mouth percussion is from Korg Wavestation, that's all i know :(

Yeah but the procussion tom has a specific delay effect that depending on the note is recorded will have a difference distance, since the distance from crypton is not exactly the same as SSZ past, the conclusion is that they used it from procussion
Absolutely doing gods work. Also anyone got a guitar tab (I know... Its all I can play, and barely that) for the Metallic madness solo or palmtree panic solo?
Could you potentially have all the Sonic CD individual samples you can get as one big dropbox or mediafire? I wanna use most of the samples from the ost for things like videos and a retrospective of SCD and also me and my freinds tend to screw around with the SCD samples we do have so an extended libeary of them would be nice in general.
These videos are amazing! I don't know what it's called, but if you do a part 3, could you do the sharp, high pitched instrument that makes up what I think is the chorus of palmtree panic bad future? I'm completely obsessed with it
Can we give a list of things we want you to try and find? If so, I do have a few: Tidal Tempest and Quartz Quadrant Past's Whistles, the instrument for the Wacky Workbench present melody, the instrument for Tidal Tempest Present and Good Future's melodies and bridges, and the Electric Guitar for Quartz Quadrant Bad Future.
The QQz past and TTz present present sound you mentioned is korg 01/w underwater sound. The other sounds you mentioned i actually don't know, but if i ever find i can do a video showing.
@@CollisionChaos Ok. Another thing I noticed is that if you slow down the Nylon Guitar, and Piano for Quartz Quadrant Bad Future, it starts to sound like Present Quartz Quadrant.

It was a friend comment, he asked me to remove because people could think he was talking serious and I stole his work lol he also does sonic cd research and have a channel where he shows the sources of sonic cd instruments so he done this joke
A friend said he was unlisting remixes that he felt not sounded much good and with that I get motivated to do the same. I think the brass was not sounding as right as I would like, plus some issues with the instrumentation overall.
The hi hats are from goldmine or Roland R-8 (goldmine sampled R-8). Tambourine is from Yamaha TG77 or Akai S1000 (both has the same tambourine). Acoustic bass drum is from R8 (probably either R8M or expansion cards). Acoustic snare drum likely is from Ensoniq ESS-11 disk, because both the JP and US quartz quadrant present used different snares that are on this disk. The electronic bass drum and electronic snare are still one of the biggest Sonic CD JP misteries, they both are from TR-909 but they were likely sampled from some library, and we don't know which.
OMG! How did you manage to make these deconstructions? @carpathia808 if you see this comment, could you do deconstructed versions of the entire OST? As far as I knew, only the "Past" versions could.
@@justsomelosercb Thank you! But they were asking the type of siren, and not exactly the source of the sample, so even if we know the source i still don't know exactly what type of siren is that
I could give you a link for the recreations, but for the synthesizers no because they're from Korg and Roland, you would need to buy the synthesizers/software to have the sounds.
