- When you are at an airfield filming for the day it would be rude not to have a drag race. I challenged StefABTV to a best of 3 drag race. My Stage 2 270bhp Mini JCW Roadster versus his 240bhp Alfa Romeo 4C. Manual gearbox versus dual clutch flappy paddle. The result was a bit of a surprise !

So much fun, which I was sure it was going to be before it kicked off!!! I had watched Stef`s last run in the 4C and it is blindingly fast at accelerating, so foregone conclusion, but still brilliant and you were never going to stop smiling and laughing, Stefs a great friend and you two bounce off each other, and its infectious but in a good way not a viral way!!!

I raced an Alfa romeo 4C in my F56 Cooper S which is 286hp and 433nm and I gapped him! That was in a rolling race from 20mph in second gear to around 100mph on a private road of course, Awesome video like always👍🏻😀

Well...save up for the Alfa then! Oddly enough I saw one of the residents at the Marina has sold his launch version Velar for a gleaming 4C and whilst he was cleaning it last week, we could not get to speak closely enough to maintain the dreaded distancing. I just might see it tomorrow (Saturday). Meanwhile, think of the cost saving with Ruby...and the reliability...you know it makes sense! Happy driving as always! Richard 😎😎😎😎

Good video Ped. Didn't beat you by much! The Alfa is fast but it also costs about £50k!
If Ped had spent as much money modifying Ruby as what the alfa cost, Stef would still be sitting at the starting line trying to pick up his jaw.

Petrol Ped That would be great. They often generate good interest levels & high UA-cam viewing levels so would be an extra string to the channel’s bow. Appreciate that finding a legal setting can be challenging/ perhaps expensive however! Keep up the great work.

Loved this 👍. Drag racing is great fun. We used to run the British Mini Showdown at Avon Park. The quickest down the quarter mile was a classic Mini with a Ford Zetec in the boot and nitrous. Was always in the low 9 secs, which is very quick 👍

Good video but why the dodgy number plate on the Mini ? Do you realist that this invalidates you car insurance if you use it on the public highway.
You guys are lucky I wasn't there with my 94 F150, straight 6 cylinder 5.0 liter beast. The outcome would have been epic.
Unfortunately the Alfa’s not available here in the US, but if it were... The only part of the Alfa I’m not fond of is that grill which is they’re trademark. Guess I’ll have to be happy with my JCW Roadster ☀️🌵😎

Who doesn’t enjoy a drag race, spent most of my adult life at the strip. Would be interesting to see what times the cars do over a measured distance. Great stuff guys, Steph’s Alfa ? I think I’ve just got the bug. What a cracking motor 👍.

Haha that BMW literally came out of nowhere! 😆 Ruby Roadster held her own but the 4C is so light. I'm assuming this was filmed before you got the Clubman. I'm sure you would have been tempted to run the 4C against it.

When I ran track, my coach said to never look back over my shoulder as it would slow me down......think it is the same for your car, cause you were definitely looking over in the second heat, on one and three.....his car was just faster although yours was far better looking.

The Alfa is consistently faster than the JCW. I thought the Mini would be a closer match than that. Looks fun though.

According to the timings and your commentary you did 0-160mph in 20 sec, slightly optimistic me thinks especially when you had a poor start, lol. Faster than a TVR Cerbera I wouldn't have thought so!

Shame they don't produce the Honda S2000 anymore. I had one back in 2004 (see silly vid I did ua-cam.com/video/180Iq42blzA/v-deo.html ) I loved mine and spent a small fortune having 'things done to it'. It had a 0-60 of about 3.5sec (as tested in garage).. in reality on the road I reckon it was between 4.5 - 5secs so I think it would have given both your cars here a run for their money.. Good points: speed, grip/handling bad point: no growling exhaust/engine sounds until you wound it up - and I couldn't do that often living and working in a town.

Minis just aren’t really made for a drag race. Just not enough HP. There are quite a few fast cars made these days. Minis are a blast to drive.
