The temps must not be fluctuating as much where you are at. We lost some ice thickness over this weekend as the temps were up in the high 50's low 60's. We fell back into the 30's today.
Here in Iowa the temps have also been up and down but we had a little window last Fri and Sat where the ice got safe enough. We got some 50's the past few days and ice fishing is over for awhile.
I don't know about that ice man..I've seen vids about falling through and staying safe out there on that ice. Those fish were surprisingly bitey despite getting cold so fast. You should get a perch out of there I've seen people catch them
@Angel-g3f2d I was careful to check with chisel and drill all the way out. The fish were bitty before the sun came out. Once it got bright it seemed like they could see me through the clear ice. They got really spooky whenever I moved. Thanks for watching!

The lead acid battery is fine for my needs. The battery from the factory conked out on me for some reason after a few trips in really cold weather. I bought a new one and it's fine now.

A couple inches on the ponds. Although the last few warm days have made it unsafe. Northern lakes are fishable.
