    After watching the doc on Caroline Flack, and Roman do this about his friend Joe, the whole world needs to wake up and realise that mental health is a huge crisis, so many lives lost, so much pain.. The powers that be need to invest in services. Social media platforms need to be more accountable with bullying . People need to be kinder. Please reach out to each other.

      @@laurenpaterson3475 true, there isn’t enough coping strategies taught throughout childhood. However people still need to go easier on each other, no one knows what each person has going on. Also a little bit of kindness shown to someone can really help them.

      @a A have you heard of innocent til proven guilty. Your short summary of a very complex situation makes it seem very black and white. The fact that I’m being reprimanded for mentioning her definitely suggests the world needs more kindness.

    I lost a friend 5 years ago, he was only 18. He used to phone me after work and I met him a few times just to talk, and I think that was his cry for help, but hindsight is 20/20. He went to uni, and took his life there. No one knew he was suicidal, not even his family, but I wish I had known so I could've met him more. Even if it was enough to stall him from taking his life, to rethink things. It's heartbreaking. Thank you for doing this, and thank you for sparking a very important conversation.

    Thank you Roman, it is a mental battle every day to keep going right now. Making this film you will have saved lives, no doubt about it. Poorna Bell's book Chase the Rainbow is harrowing but well worth a read for those looking for answers for why their loved ones leave. It is such a desperately sad state of humanity that such a huge percentage of the population are fighting these thoughts and right now having to do so without their usual coping mechanisms.

    He was just 14 years old and I explained to him that eating good food and sleeping has a huge impact on your mental health.
    He is now on medication and his Parents are grateful reached out to me.
    He had written a note to say sorry to his parenrs and I handed the note to his parents.

    Most people just dismiss someone who’s feeling down, as if you’re just being negativistic and choosing to feel the way you do. And a little telling off or making you feel guilty about the way you feel because your life is “so perfect” will snap you right out of it. That’s why so many don’t talk about it. Hopefully one day we can change that. Small steps and this clip helps.

    I'm strongly suicidal. I've never felt worse. I've never felt more empty. I can't believe what's happened to this world. It's just so tragic. The Pandemic might be the biggest catastrophe that can happen to this world. It's just So Senseless!!! Why couldn't Covid just happen to people whose whole lives have been doing whatever they want and who never ever learn what it's like to be nothing??? I also can't believe I'm in my early 20s and there's a lot of things I still don't have and didn't do when I was younger. I didn't have my first kiss in my early teens, I didn't start drinking in my early teens, I still don't have a driver's license, and I still don't have a girlfriend. It makes me feel like a loser since there are lots of people in their early 20s who have done so much with their lives and already have their own cars and are already in relationships. Why do those kind of people seem like the best of the best? Should I apologize to this world for existing? If I took my own life would it be a terrible mistake? Was I really put on this earth for a reason?

      Hey "The Film Expert". I noticed that you wrote just 3 weeks ago. I wanted to reach out to you. I want to tell you, please stick around! I know how you feel, as I too believed that there was something wrong with me when I was your age {I am 62 now) because I compared my life to what others had. It is hard not to be influenced by societal pressures. Please try not to negatively compare yourself to others! What they have and what you have does NOT define the essence of the person you are nor does it define them. I can see by your words that you are a sensitive person, as everyone with a heart is. That makes you beautiful! Everybody has their own timelines of when things they want, finally happen to them, despite all their efforts. I promise that one day you will not care nearly as much about comparisons as you do now. You will get things in your own good time. What's most important is sharing your heart and skills with the world. I remember, I thought I'd "missed the boat" because I was not married yet at 22, and no boyfriend at 25. I married at 27, but you could not have convinced me that would ever happen. Everything works out for everybody, it really does. Please explore ways that you can be helped!! You matter and the world does need the likes of you! I hope you are still here! God Bless you!

    • @oceanwonders
      @oceanwonders Рік тому

      It's so many things. One common thing is unhealed trauma, which makes it hard to deal with life.
      Example: you had a parent say over and over that you're a useless piece of shit when you're a kid. You grow up feeling like you're not good enough, and you don't know why. No matter how much you achieve, you still feel inadequate. You don't realize that the inner voice criticizing you was just created in your brain from years of being "programmed" by your parent's opinion of you.
      You think that "everyone must feel this way, I shouldn't complain, other people have it worse", so you don't talk about how you're feeling and you don't get help. You bottle it up, you drink a lot of make the shitty feelings go away for a while.
      And then at some point, you get dumped. Or you lose your job. And you go from barely keeping it together to full-blown crisis. And your bad feelings go from a manageable 5, to a 9 out of 10. And it's only a matter of time before you want to end it all, unless things change or unless you get those feelings off your chest.
