I would say that Virgo is more about consistency than control; Capricorn is way more controlling for reasons of power per se. Virgo has always seemed to me to be about perfection, though it's often to organize, analyze, sythesize, process, in service of truth and then how that the knowledge gleaned is applied.
Virgo is less controlling and more hypervigilant that everything is in its place. There are controlling behaviours that come out, but we are ultimately a mutable and practical sign. The reasons for wanting control is less about power (capricorn) or comfort (taurus) and more about efficiency and "making things make sense."
If I may, I would also compare it to having a desire and need for structure and routine out of the sense of security.
I think an important reminder is virgo is a mutable sign. When we are able to release control and not beat ourselves up about not checking off something on our to-do list, we are able to come up with practical solutions to our problems! but only when you learn to release control.

as a virgo moon i was raised on routine a lot but not really a schedule my earliest memories were my mom driving me to my dads house with food and we use to listen to the same 3 songs in the car and this happened everyday, or when she would wake me up the same way everyday and we would always be out the house at 8:00am on the dot, there was this old movie store sadly it’s closed but me and my mom use to go every saturday as a kid and rent a movie for the week, and i was younger i was definitely more of a movies kid so anytime we went to the store she would always let me buy one movie so i was definitely raised on more routine then schedule but looking back those times were very comforting to me
I have my moon in virgo, and when I was a kid I always took care of myself, I didn't get much help. I had a hard childhood.

everything that was said is this video hits on such a deep level. usually when people talk about the mothers of virgo moons i always here "strict, high standards, etc" and i never related. but hearing your interpretation of never having structure so wanting it so much more as an adult, and having to be the parent to myself, my siblings, and my mother herself, was so validating to hear!
i also related to everything else especially always having a mental checklist and i cannot relax unless i get everything done.
i have a pisces sun mercury & venus so it balances out a bit
but this virgo moon is my least favorite placement of all time, i wish i was different (':
Virgo moons experienced a mother who expected us to create our own structure and hold our own standards, and honestly raise ourselves for them.
you've got a lot of inner self discipline that others do not have, and that is something to be proud of. Please dont be ashamed of your inner child, they are truly doing their best to help you. Just gotta work around the rumination and loops that we can spiral down when we're not honoring ourselves and our limits.
Pisces sun, but I was born before dawn, so I find myself relating more to my moon in a lot of areas despite Virgo not being my “main” sign.

This is so true! One little thing, like disturbances in my sleeping schedule, makes me bonkers for the whole day. Or when I think I wasn't cautious enough and now I feel like I'm getting a cold. Drives me crazy

This is my natal placement and I’m always hesitant to hear what people have to say about this Moon sign but I think you described everything from a place of understanding rather than judgement. I really appreciate that ❤ Also, I just wrapped up my progressed moon in Leo and holy hell, I have never been that emotionally expressive in my life! What a thorough description of a Virgo moon. Bravo. I’m a Virgo Moon properly raised by a Virgo Mother. My Virgo Moon is in the 5th house and my Father is a Leo Moon. 🩵🙏🏽💛
I have Virgo moon conjunct Pluto in the fifth. Trines my ascendant, and Jupiter and Saturn in Capricorn in the ninth. I think for me, it’s like psychic cleanliness. I organize my life and protect myself this way. I have a lot of Pisces planets and a really strong Neptune, so this is sort of my orientation. One of the really great things you say in the videos is that I care a lot more for cleanliness, perhaps then flow. I went to art school for my education, but other than that I practice various forms of amusement like dancing, pottery, painting… my physical routines and diet are strict and consistent. I’m at the gym every morning at 3:30.😀 my partner has a Virgo Rising it makes a conjunction to my pluto and moon 🖤 anyway beautiful video very thought-provoking ❤

The detriments and exhault things seem to have some correlation to my past friendships, I wonder if this is relevant. Hmm. Like as a Capricorn Sun Pisces moon I had a Virgo sun and moon friend and it was a quick fall in platonic love situation but then we lived together for 2 years during stressful university times and beginning of covid and everything went up in flames like explosively and then complete avoidance of eachother due to pressuring eachother or perceived pressure. Hearing that there is an exultant in these signs has intrigued me. Perhaps I'm digging haaha 😄 me always trying to make sense of stuff.
I really struggle with this placement in my 4th house. I am always controlling my emotions till i break through my own thoughts.. chaotisch 😢😂
