"Under God" was only added to The Pledge of Allegiance in 1954 due the urging of private religious groups. It was largely a reaction to try to define America as opposing the USSR as well as try to subtly justify everything America did in opposition as being divinely ordained.
This whole video is non-sensical. "America guarantees freedom, so we must use that freedom to impose one religious view over everyone." What?

It's a serious error to proclaim that we aim to justify everything as being divinely ordained. We added "under God" to the Pledge precisely as caution against overdone humanism. It's quite telling though, how We, the People, had faced off against communistic atheism in Korea not long before then.
I think it quite the problem for secularists to howl about imposing religion. Secularism has demonstrated the same demons as a philosophy as any formally declared faith. We have the right to embrace (Catholic) understanding of God and instill such ideals in law in spite of secular demands.
