I rarely wear it except for when the weather is right - a cool, cloudy rainy day - for which is suited perfectly. It transports you to a desolate northern Atlantic beach, with a dark storm in the distance.. I love it for that and is why I won't sell it yet. But I'm glad to see someone give it some love!

Santal Blanc falls in the same scent family as Zadig & Voltaire This is Her and BDK’s Gris Charnel. Have you tried those? I have said it falls in the middle. A creamy, lactonic sandalwood scent. Not has heavy as This Is Her and not spicy like Gris Charnel 🤍

How would you say the Dossier dupe of Bal D'Afrique compares to the original? I have the dupe, but I wonder if its worth getting the original. I also want to get some in the Clean line.
I think they’re super similar. I do get something brighter in Bal D’Afrique. Perhaps from the Bergamot but if you’re smelling the scent bubble they’re pretty darn close.
I go for very sweet Pink Sugar fragrances cause it reminds me of popcorn which reminds me of watching movies in your pjs while it’s raining so …. 🤷🏻♀️ my mind is weird like that
I don't know why this topic is not talked about more or why there aren't more perfumes especially for rainy days. Maybe it doesn't rain as much in France. But it's a big part in a tropical country and its my favourite weather. I don't feel gloomy at all. Rather, I feel like in my elements. Maybe it's all the negative ions in the air which are considered a mood uplifter. But I haven't found a perfume to go with that feeling. It's simple for summer. Get light, blue, citric fragrances. Get warm and rich fragrances for winter but what we get for the rainy days. Do we get the water-y wet sorta feeling perfumes or comforting warm cocoa/coffee/tea perfumes? And wouldn't that just be like aquatic fragrances or warm gourmand fragrances used in summer and winters respectively? We want the opposite feelings of warm in winter and cool in summer. Then, do we actually wanna feel wet and smell petrichor and green? Maybe we do. Maybe it's a little bit of all of this. Btw, I'm from India which has like thousand years old perfume industry and one of the attars they create is called Mitti Attar or translated as Soil/clay attar. Actual wet clay from the river beds are hydro distilled. Sometimes it's half this and half kiln baked dry clay to give the impression of both the dry earth first and then the wet, parched clay with the rain hits, with the petrichor smell. And it smells quite close to the real deal. And they also distill vetiver which is called Ruh Khus or translated to the essence/essential oil of vetiver. And it's beautifully haunting and bewildering. Sweet, green, earthy, inky, smoky. I feel like it can be worn by itself (and many do in India) in summers but I think the green, dark, earthy aspects will also suit the rainy days. I highly suggest you try 10 grams of both of these. They just don't smell good like perfumes, they feel something. They cost $20 for 10 grams but trust me, it lasts months. There are thousands who claim to sell the real deal but I suggest you stick to reputed attar houses. I know 3-4 which are over 100 years old. Gulab Singh johorimal, M. L. Ramnarain, S Md Ayub Md Yaqub.
