      Well it is working as the govt source says 80,000 less cars are on the road and 95% of cars that are on the road are ULEZ compliant. I think it’s like seatbelts when they first became a law.. it will be a big fuss for the first few months to a year or so but people will eventually get used to it.

      @@bro6568 Yes its all good until they decide to raise the limits so that only newer vehicles pass the emissions levels, its the poor that suffer not those that can afford to upgrade, even though the air in cities is cleaner now than ever before in recent history,
      My friend is an mot tester and works in Worcester Park and he was saying that they have lost as much as twenty percent of their business due to the fact that they are now in the new ULEZ zone so it must also have affected many other businesses.

Putting up our C T and expect the people of Wales to just suck it all up!! Unfortunately. The Welsh will do just that whilst moaning about it continuously.

    What’s crazy about ULEZ /CAZ is that all these vehicles being fined have passed an MOT test at an MOT station where the emission standards are set by the government ,Taxis and other vehicles are tested in most of these cities by the same councils who are fining them for not having the right engines because of the emissions that they themselves have passed as being within the safety guidelines because they meet the government standards ,it’s nuts ,it’s a con ,most of these people have no choice but to pay and struggle or have no job at all,I’m just wondering when the window tax is coming back .

Then they try and tax me £9 a day on top of this to drive in Bradford (I live in a BD postcode) but I don't qualify for the exemption because kirklees council (Huddersfield) are my bin collectors which changes to bradford council 5 houses down from me even though I live in Bradford bd12..

    • @davecooper3238
      @davecooper3238 10 місяців тому

      Passing an MOT doesn’t effect the vehicle’s EURO rating. That EURO rating is what makes a vehicle ULEZ compliant or not.
      A vehicle could fail a MOT on emissions but it would not affect its EURO rating because that’s fixed

    • @stevethe3060
      @stevethe3060 10 місяців тому +1

      @@davecooper3238 I get that but if a vehicle passed an MOT at a council run MOT station which passes vehicles emissions based on government safety standards then surely it’s emission safe to use on all roads ,if you took a group of 50 vehicles of the same make and model and euro standard and put them through an MOT I’m pretty sure some would fail but in the case of ulez /caz it’s one size fits all without doing any tests at all because they’re going off manufactures euro standards and as we know if they say a vehicle does 0-60 in 5 seconds depending on the driver it could better that time or be slower same goes for emissions so I’m saying if vehicles are passed at an MOT station we know our emissions meet the gov standards of safety but the ulez/caz go off engine type not emissions of individual vehicles like an MOT station do, if councils and the gov go off euro rating why bother with MOT emissions tests .

      @@dangruner5926 totally agree with you - the air quality above ground in London has never been better, thanks to emissions controls on cars and lorries, plus common rail injection, whether in petrol or diesel cars, allows much higher fuel injection pressures, with the result that the fuel is more highly atomised and spread within the combustion chamber. The fuel is more completely burned, with less harmful noxious fumes getting to the catalytic converter (on petrol cars) or the DEF system on diesel cars, lorries, agricultural tractors, not to mention various pieces of construction machinery. Londons' air quality back in Victorian times was absolutely horrendous, and that was long before the advent of motorised transport of any kind in Britain had occurred. Horse drawn wagons, carts and buggies were the order of the day, though I suppose the leftists will try to blame horse farts for the con that is Global Warming ! Total cash grab in both instances, since Sad Dick Khants' TFL budgetary control was/is non existent and this is simply a way to put more money towards London Transport, as well as an excuse to fleece the hard up motorist yet again.
      Most puzzling of all however, is the 'air quality' (for which read, lack thereof !), on the London Underground system is horrendous, but not Londons' Mayor or any MP have made so much as a peep about that ! Total hypocrites, the lot of them !
