    I'm only about 7 months late to this party, but man do I agree with you. After shooting lightish arrows out of a shorter draw length when I first started bowhunting years back I think the shape, edge geometry, and sharpness of the right fixed 2 blade broad head is the MOST vital part of your setup. You could have $4,000 worth of bow, sight, string, release, arrows, etc. but the only thing that kills your game is the pointy end of your arrow. I won't even let my buddies hunt at my place unless they've got some stingers or similar quality fixed blades. Better get here a few hours early if you're coming with mechanicals, because we've got some tuning to do.

    Truth!!! I killed a almost 150 8 point with a Magnus 2 bld. 150grn. Using a #40 hybrid VPA longbow November 3. 40 yrds and down! New sub. From the 641...Always thumbs up!!!

    I have taken at least 8 deer with mechanical broadheads (Grim Reaper Broadheads) and luv em. I wanted to try fixed blades. So after looking around and checking with a few "online experts", I came to the Magnus Stinger 4-blades. I like the way they look and that I can sharpen them really easily. Will be using them this season, so I will find out how well they work.

    Couldn’t agree more! Magnus is the only head to make it into my quiver. I will add another point when you choose to use any Magnus head and that is their Lifetime Replacement Guarantee!

    Magnus broadheads are awesome. The fly great out of my mathews V3X 29. On a Easton axis 5mm 340 spine. 420 grains. 64# 29 inch draw. And i get pass throughs 99% of the time.

    Excellent choice. I recently tested 7 common 100 gr. broadheads (collected over the years) getting ready for MN bow season. From my Bowtech SS34, 28” draw 55# in the comfort mode, Gold Tip Kinetic Hunters (400)/FMJ 6mm/Scheels Vendetta arrows. Magnus 4-blade came out on top regarding avg. penetration, followed by Muzzy Trocar, Exodus, VPA, Sevr(mechanical), Slick Trick, Muzzy 3-blade. In that order. I also use the 4-blade Stingers with 2117 “logs” on my compound finger bow.

    Shot an impala quartering away. He jumped the string, ducked and rolled away in one move. Shot hit higher and further back than aimed. The stinger on an arrow setup weighing 550grains took him just in front of hip and exited behind shoulder on opposite side. Clean diagonal pass through. Re-sharpened and back in quiver. Not the largest antelope - but still impressive penetration - no bone other than ribs were hit.

    These heads always did their job, but they were always bent after shooting a animal. But I also have a 32” draw length @ 75 lbs shooting a 500 grain plus arrow. It could be that I have to much energy in my setup. I’m gonna try the chunkier black hornets this year, they look pretty solid..

    Great budget broadhead shot 4 deer with same head resharpening after each one until it hit a rock and chipped after a pass through.

    I'm just off 24 straight deer no misses or wounds. I've used bear razor heads till this year. I always blew through deer so fast I think they don't know they're shot. Most walk away and drop in site.
    Ran out of razor heads this yr. Bought swackers. Shot a doe early, no pass through, she ran 150 mph hardly any blood, never found her. I've had Magnus on since. Just haven't shot anything yet. Closest thing I found to the razor heads

    Iv shot 2,3,4 blade heads and by far i prefer the 4 blade set up of a 2 blade head with bleeders so basically a 4 blade head. ....or a straight up 4 blade head like slick trick.

    Love the magnus heads but I switched to single bevels a few years back. Check out the crimson talon cleavers if you’re wanting to get into single bevels. A little tricky to sharpen but They are very very affordable single bevels and comparing them to my tuff heads and cutthroats, well let’s just say they are what’s in my quiver right now over the tuff heads and cut throats. they are every bit as good and honestly I’d be willing to say better for the simple fact of price. Quality is every bit as good but at $30 per 3 and or if you look for a discount code down to $26 a pack. They are hard to beat

    I started off with Excalibur bolt cutters.
    They performed well, but i have a feeling they were knock offs just based on the price o got them for.
    Tried heavy single bevel vpas, performance went down alot with those. I couldnt get them to shoot well at 40 to save my life. Shot one deer and changed.
    I tried sevr mechanicals after, shot 2 deer and they were amazing.
    But theres always the thought of something messing up with them so thats why im here.
    Ive narrowed this years broadhead down to magnus stingers or tooth of the arrow broadheads.

  • @WMBCS
    @WMBCS 7 місяців тому

    Lol mechanical are far more lethal and using a fixed blade. You guys need to give this talking point up.
    Deer die by blood loss more cutting more blood
    The largest study that’s ever been done on the topic showed they are way more lethal. 30,000 deer
    You lose 1 out of 10 deer you shoot with a fixed vs a mechanical.
    Unless you shoot trad or low poundage two blades suck.
    If you want a single bevel just get a crimson tide they are 10 bucks each.

    • @TheBuvaCrew
      @TheBuvaCrew  7 місяців тому +1

      Everyone’s got their own opinion. I’ve lost 3 deer using mechanicals…so it’s just a preference for me

    • @WMBCS
      @WMBCS 7 місяців тому

      @@TheBuvaCrew it’s not an opinion. It tested. People are terrible at real life observation. It’s likely you didn’t hit the deer where you thought you did.
      It’s why what you see doesn’t hold up in the scientific method.
      Blood loss is how deer die unless you hunt low poundage trad or bigger game than deer 2 blades are terrible
      No blood trails very little damage
