We’ve had a nightmare with our HS envoy. 3 months in and already required a water change and a new salt production cartridge. Our water reads perfect one day then nothing the next. We clean the filters weekly, shower before use, use it for no more than 1-1.5hrs over the day. We are constantly having to add liquid chlorine as we don’t think the tub is making any itself. We are now thinking of getting rid and going back to a chlorine system. I feel as though we are fighting a constant battle with keeping our water sanitised.
Hello Tracey, Water care should not be frustrating, and I am sorry for that. Many of our hot tubbers have been happily using salt for the last 10+ years. You can reach us at 800-999-4688 ext 8432 or at CustomerService@Watkinsmfg.com I look forward to working with you soon. Vanessa - Customer Service
@@catflapcarnage5734 go to hot tub university on youtube with Chris Wheatley, he can explain. I contacted manufacturer and they wont call me back after taking 15K of my money, and the sales agent will not return calls either. They know their salt system is horrible
I'm interested in your product and I understand that during this situation with the Covid the production is stopped on all models is that accurate? I can understand if it is. I live in the New York area and I've been told by the local Hot Springs dealer who has sold out of everything that tubs might not be available for at least 16 weeks. Is all this accurate?
Thank you for your interest in Hot Spring Spas. Although we have resumed production, we do have a longer wait time than usual; we are shipping spas out daily. Some customers are purchasing from new stock that is going out now. Once spas are ready for delivery, a notification will be provided directly to your dealer, who will be able to provide you with an estimated delivery date. They are the best resource for spa delivery dates. Thank you for your understanding and patience during these trying times. Vanessa - Customer Service hotspring.com/covid19-update

They recommend not changing the water out for a year? I have a 2019 vangard w/ this system and it cannot maintain a free chlorine level for more than about a week. I change out the water every other month. Once the system prompts you to check the salt level it is shutdown and your water will go bad in a few days if you do not go through the menus to acknowledge this. For this reason I installed an ozonator and now just run the chlorine as a backup residual to maximize the effectiveness of killing bacteria, including running 24hr boost mode after use. You won't see a residual on the test strip however with an ozonator as it reacts. I probably should have just gone with the ozone + silver ion + mps instead and be chlorine free instead of the salt water system.
Hello Eastman. I am sorry that your spa water care has been difficult to manage. It sounds like there might be a few options that will get your spa on track with the salt system. However, if you want to change over to ozone and chlorine that is up to you. I wouldn't recommend running both because you are spending money on two systems. I would like to help. You can reach us at 800-999-4688 Ext 8432. or CustomerService@WatkinsMFG.com. Please reference case number 178720. We want you to have an enjoyable relaxing spa experience. Thank you for your post and I look forward to working with you soon. Vanessa - Customer Service
I would like to warn anybody who that’s considered owning one of these Watkin's products. We have a 2015 Envoy NXT with every available option. First, the salt cells required to maintain an acceptable level of sanitation wear out and fail every 1 to 2 years and cost over $1000 to replace. We have accepted this and maintained the cell on our dime twice already. Now, eight months out of warranty the tub has sprung a major leak. Watkins refuses to help in any way, other than providing plumbing diagrams. Our tub is under a covered patio, has a $2k smart top and has been meticulously maintained. It has flat out failed us and will sit for seven months waiting for repair that will cost $3500. Inexcusable for a $16,000 luxury item. If you buy a Hot Spring / Caldera / Watkins spa you should save and budget for an additional 20-50% for maintenance costs. This leak will likely end our ownership.
Hello Bryan, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your spa leak and for allowing me to address your concerns. As you noted, this type of repair can be a lengthy one and costly when out of warranty. When you buy a previously owned spa with no warranty, there is an inherent risk of purchasing a spa with preexisting issues or issues resulting from something that should have been addressed while still in the warranty period. This is one of the reasons why a spa warranty is not transferrable to a second owner. Hot Spring Spa has offered to assist with parts outside of warranty as a goodwill gesture. Since you brought this to our attention, I have made every effort to address your concerns within reason. The choice is yours of whether to have it fixed, resell it or discard it. The good news is that it is fixable, and an authorized dealer will do a great job repairing it. You will be able to hot tub again. You mentioned before you have owned one of our spas without issue. I have no doubt you are a fantastic spa owner and took great care of your spa. We are here to support all Hot Spring spa owners even if they did not buy it from us. Vanessa- Customer Service

remove salt system, it will never work
Richard Fiser can you comment more on why not? We are beginning to think we have been sold something that doesn’t do what we were told it would?

what happens if you exceed the recommended amount of salt?
This system in my Hotsprings tub failed after 5 years. It never generated enough chlorine, adding more was always needed.

I have a 2008 Envoy that has been wonderful for all these years with no leaks, only have had to replace the cover every 4 years or so.
Your experience is similar to my 2011 Sovereign. Leaks everywhere and the parts cost a fortune. Next time I'm buying a Chinese built tub.
