Booming and Shaking Supersonic Research

NASA engineers at Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va., are doing studies that could lead to the return of supersonic passenger travel with low boom aircraft - jets that can fly over land without window-rattling sonic booms.

I can't believe NASA is spending a lot of taxpayer money for this. Do we need another supersonic commercial jets......?

Well, 5+ hrs of flight is very inconvenient and could pose health problems like blood clots

I'd rather spend my money on this than blowing up Iraq. Or pretty much anything else the government does.
