    Ladies, I have created a period panty line called Tomies (Time Of Month + Panties = Tomies). It is a leak proof period panty with a pocket on the front for a disposable heating pad or you can store extra pads/tampons in the pocket. Please check out my website to learn more @t

    I know that to you, this is just part of being a mom, but to me, this is brave and thoughtful. My mother never spoke to me about sex, periods, boys, etc. It was a taboo subject. When I finally did start my cycle, she actually YELLED at me because I waited too long to tell her I had started it. I now have a daughter and I honestly (sadly) dread the talk with her about this because I never had an example to follow. Your daughters, should they ever have girls, will have had a very good example from you. My hat is off to you. It really isn't something that we should be ashamed of.

    • @verikeri2849
      @verikeri2849  9 років тому +5

      EssenceRose3 Awww, thanks for such an honest comment. It saddens me when I read comments like this. My mom was very good at explaining the period part and hygiene.....but unfortunately my siblings and I didn't really get much of a sex talk. Our sex talk consisted pretty much remain a virgin until you are married and that having premarital sex is a sin. I don't fault my mother though, because that is what she was taught. I hope you can fully embrace wanting to be more open with your daughters. And truth be told, you may have to "learn" some things yourself before you can share with your daughter. I am learning everyday, and boy oh boy...things have changed since I was a kid. My children ask me questions that I have absolutely NO IDEA how to answer....but I do my research and we talk about it later. I hope to share more videos beyond the period kit that will focus on sex and boys as I know that is such a hot topic with adolescents these days. Thanks for watching.

    This certainly beats the pad I kept in my sock as a teen. We use to wear plaid skirts and knee socks and I would put my pad in my sock...seriously a sock. Keri I wished I had thought of this for my oldest. Thank goodness babygirl hasn't started yet but I think I am going to do something like this for her. Really a good video and I agree with everyone else you are just so organized and a good momma (smile).

    • @verikeri2849
      @verikeri2849  9 років тому +8

      FRUGALNISTA Hahaahaha, I knew girls that used to put pads in their socks. Back when I first started my cycle, the pads did not have self sticking adhesive. I used to have to wear this elastic belt and attach the pad to it, and they were sooooo bulky...lol. Feminine products have come a long way. Maribella will be all set when that time comes. The jury is still out on me being organized...I should have done a "Let's Keep It Real Moment" for this video...lol.

      Veri Keri HAHA Your too Funny...My Mom sd she had to wear the same mid-evil contraption. Who knew periods could be so complicated? I'm glad I do not need any of this..The simple ole "tampon in the glove compartment of my car trick" is all I require! lol

    • @FRUGALNISTA
      @FRUGALNISTA 9 років тому +3

      kelly knowles Kelly coming from a VERY conservative/sometimes ridicules family. tampons were never even offered as a choice for me. Perhaps I still have some of that ridicules thinking because I never gave my daughter the option of a tampon either. Silly huh?!

    • @verikeri2849
      @verikeri2849  9 років тому +4

      Ditto. Somehow tampons were "sinful". I didn't let my daughters wear them when they first started....they were both early bloomers...10 yrs old. When my oldest turned 14 and went to sleep away camp for the summer I let her use them because she wanted desperately to go swimming. Now she prefers them over pads.

    • @kelymknowles1

      10? AWE, Poor thing! I was lucky I guess..I was 16 and 11 months! LOL The funny part is that it started on April Fools Day! I tried to get some "assistance" from my mom but she just yelled for my dad! UGH! Dad was cool though, he took me to the store to pick out a new purse and then we both pretended to be looking at the baby food that was so appropriately placed across the isle from the famine products every time someone came down the isle. I am not even joking, when we got to the register..price check! We were soooo busted! But hey..At least it didn't happen at school while wearing white pants like some girls I knew. YIKES! My step daughter started hers bery young..9 or 10 as well. That is a story unto itself but since we couldn't get a hold of her bio-mom, we went the safe route and used the pads as much as they make me cringe. She now wears tampons as well and she is 15 now. I guess it is one of those things we females all go through.

      I have similar story, I put pads in my lunch box and my "Friend" stole my lunch box. He looked inside the lunch box, (they were in a small package) he looked at them and read "Maxi pads". Assuming that meant for a heavy flow. We know that maxi is really just a brand name. I hate him anyways.

    • @dani0624

      A great solution is take a snack sized ziplock bag and put a few wipes it. You ca then take your wipes and pad/tampon and slide it into your bra or pocket so you don't have to bring the entire kit and people won't know

    • @harjotk9870
      @harjotk9870 9 років тому +13

      Well don't care what they think because a period is a natural thing. If I had to change my pad and I didn't have my makeup bag, I would just go with the pad on hand because the people need to learn how to not be immature about a very natural part of a woman's life

  • @DiannedeLasCasas

    I made one for my daughter a couple of years ago and she didn't need it until yesterday. 😊 One of the things I did was have her "practice" using the sanitary napkin. I had her wear one (with wings) for a whole day and walk around with it so she could become accustomed to applying and wearing it. When the time finally came, she was soooo prepared!
    I also made her a locker kit with all the essentials (lotion, hand sanitizer, portable brush, hair ties, safety pins, sewing kit, etc.). The makeup bag I put all the items in has a handle so she just hangs it from a hook in her locker.
    Great video on something that a lot of people don't like to talk about. But it's life for us girls! Thank you for sharing, Keri!

    • @verikeri2849
      @verikeri2849  9 років тому +2

      Dianne de Las Casas That was such a great idea to have her practice before she actually started her cycle! Glad that she was prepared for when the time came. Good idea about hanging the locker kit on a hook in her locker. I will ask my girls if they would want one of these kits as well. Hope your weekend is off to a great start.

      Hi, i'm 14 and I want to say that judging by your user name, you dance, and I want to say that dancing with a tampon is so much more comfortable that with pads, they also don't stick out of my leotard, so its a bit more discrete

    Such a good idea! My daughter is 30yrs old. Every yr. I give her an Easter basket tailored to her age. This is my bond with her and to create memories when I’m gone. She just got married so he will be getting one also lol. He’s 40. Lol. And when the have kids they will too. I put razors, pads, body sprays but I never would have thought of a kit to go!! What a great idea! And she’s a flight attendant. She looks forward to the baskets. I’m going to use some of your ideas to take it up a notch. Your bad to the bone!!! Ty!!

    i struggled with taking my book-bag to the bathroom (cause i mainly had teachers who didn't like people carrying bags) so my friends would stand around the bag while whoever needed pulled out whatever and hid in in their sleeve or pocked. it was either that or walking all the way across the school to get one from the nurse...

    Thank you for the upload. I also prepare these for myself, guest and our young ladies in our church (my daughters are both out of state adults). I keep these everywhere (laughing). They're in the car, my desk at work, my purse, my briefcase, and several other places at home. I also include several disposable bags to our kits, it is more sanitary. Instead of the multiple package of wipes, we use the individual packages to clean our hands, etc prior to coming out of the stall. Good job, I pray that things will get better for your sweet little girls.
