Id say include in your rotation like another Elemental Blockade. If you factor in the initial damage and the dot damage together buffed by CP and Passive Skills the overall damage could be substantial.

I got the shock staff during the recent Murkmire event and use impulse as part of my rotation after dropping mines on the enemies. I do want to get the inferno version though as I'm running Burning Spell so being able to apply a burn to more than 1 target at a time would be nice.
I guess I'm kind of randomly asking but do anybody know of a good place to watch new series online?
I instantly thought the same thing as you when I saw the weapon. Impulse is meant to be spammed, otherwise there is no reason to use it.
Now you can use it as an additional DoT in your rotation, but that means giving up a skill slot and a way more powerful weapon (for example maelstrom staff).
ew no if its on your main bar you give up 2 pieces of any super power set for... this.... or backbar but lose vma? ugh this staff needs hellllllllla work to be useful for SOMETHING OR ANYTHING lol rn its barely useful as a roleplay staff
Its not trash if you run a mg dk with grothdarr, BSW, willpower or wrath of imperium and the maelstrom staff. Add in the thief mundus stone and you have a great build
for pvp it might be actually good if you use pulsar

Nate North i know lol i thought they took the dot off impulse because they understood that impulse is a spammable, making the dot component almost useless. Then they do this. Just proves to you that they dont know what the fuck theyre doing

Momo Normandin imagine if those dots stack as you spam impulse. Now that’s a trait worth having. You’d have an upper limit due to duration of your initial dots

Maybe they tried to create a dot for mag dps? Either way, you're not sacrificing 2 set pieces for this...
If i could rework this staff zos i would make it to wear it instead caused the skill to opperate like Shrouded daggers. Make pulsar have a chain damage component to targets rather than place a weak Dot.

Well I don't see it being a spammable as much of an issue when the Force Pulse Asylum staff does the same thing. But you know that's a single target spammable that sorcs lack. This would be an aoe spamamble.
JRsoFLY123 asylum staff does not do the same thing. The asylum staff will give you 100% chance to proc 3 status effects at once. This set will not

Not even. I dont bother with the skill at all as a solo player. Only morphed it out of curiosity hoping it would be better than the base skill. Needless to say it still sucked.
I think they intended for it to be used in pvp
I have used this skill only for role play

Dova GER hey! So I’m following alcasts pve guide but I find it unclear at what other alternate gear setups there are. Example. He says vicious ophidian gear is a good alternative. But doesn’t say what it should be paired with. Any suggestions to that? Only raid set I have is two fanged and VO. I’m a returning player.

@@BrockWasTaken the setup that you have is still good, but try it with twofanged and relequen. Relequen does like 6k dps by it selfe.
Dova GER okay. Thanks! Yea I wanna do the trial to get relequen but I feel like I’ll be immediately denied. I have been finding a lot of elitists who only want 780 cp. Another question. When people say I should be doing 40k dps...what exactly is that referring to? My main spam ability? Or is it some calculation of an average of all my abilities?

To me is just a nice solution for those who are still using the Asylum staff, for trash pulls. You just swap the front bar weapon for those parts of the trial and that's it. Nothing too special. Bad design but sounded better on paper
Lol who tf is using the asylum staff in endgame anymore, so 2 patches ago no one should be using that. Still i agree that this staff MAY be useful for trash pull builds but i doubt this thing out damages Lightning Staff heavy attacks tbh
Brent Vanderhoof Is still a viable weapon single target, no longer OP like before but it's not trash lol.
The fact is, it's not like this is going to replace heavy attacks from light staves, you can use both. You can even use this as a lightning staff, use the skill and then heavy attack. Half a tick of a heavy attack loss is not that much

it should only be able to stack up to 3 times anyway, so at any time a mob or enemy should have like the impulse hit +3 dots... that would just make it barely balanced against other setups

The other more that lowers the enemies max health by 10% is kinda nice tho
yeah but the weapon is trash. normaly you run msa backbar and willpower, asylum or 5pice frontbar...why sould i waste that place with a tiny little aoe dot? maby for ppl that run 3 willpower and dont use asylum in there builds the extra pen is nice.
Could be for an extra DoT, (more useful in PvP for a mag-DoT setup, could also be a step down from Maelstrom as there are some people who don't have the skill or gear (or patience). Alternatives, people! Also the amount of comments (out of 39 at the time of posting) saying how "trash" it is and how "bad of s design" it is, is comical to say the least. It's not even been known about for that long and people are already starting. lmao. Oh well. This kinda thing seems doomed to happen. =P

Honestly these are so garbage
it only took me 2 seconds to realize this was garbage. zos needs to replace the game designers. because the current ones - make bad decisions and then dont listen to feedback when they are told they are completely wrong.

This game gets worse and worse as time goes on. What a very disappointing master weapon. Expected this new 4 man arena to bring the spark back. DSA was and will always be the best thing they ever did. Clearly they are out of ideas. Why wasn't this a 2 man arena?
