This was awesome for helping me figure out how to make my Canary mask! I bought some of the Worbla stuff this morning and can't wait for it to get here so I can make it :)
It not necessary to sand the worbla before painting. I did so because the two layers were not flush and even. However, do sand any rough edges that may have happened from cutting.
By any chance do you have a printable version of the Harley mask when you did it on the paper first or did you just kind of make one on your own? Thanks for the awesome tutorial! This will be my first project working with worbla and I'm super excited to do it!
I used your tutorial and then instead of using worbla (or however you spell that) and I used liquid latex and built it up. it did take a lot longer and was a bit uneven but its not noticeable. I made the shape with paper and then traced it onto plastic. (I used a freezer gallon bag.) and then built the latex up with the end of a brush handle.
First i just want to say that i love all of your costumes and tips and and past work!!! Im new at cosplay and i was wondering if you had any costume ideas that would be easy to construct or easy to find. Im open to any suggestion of yours! The convention i will be attending is in August for Comic Con Boston 2014, so i still have a bit to think and construct my costume and props. Thanks so much, love all that you do, keep up all of your lovely work!!!
You say you sprayprimed the mask. Did you use the same spray paint/acrylic paint tthaht you have listed in the descriptionbox, or was it something else?
Would using a regular hair dryer be as effective as the heating gun your using to form the worbla? Thank you for sharing your experiences with everyone! :)
Oh my god, I think I kinda love you, haha! Awesome tutorial, thanks so much for sharing!!! I'm gonna go look for this product you're working with. It seems to much easier to make and more comfortable to wear than leather. What do you use to glue it to your face? Does it hold all day? And how do you get it off, without ripping out all your eyebrow hairs? Hahaha
Kellax Productions Thanks so much for your quick reply! Haha, ouch!!! I will write it all down, and hopefully my eyebrows will stay on, haha. When I try to make the mask and hammer, and hopefully it will succeed, I will of course link your awesome videos when I post pictures, and tag you on instagram if you want! ^_^
Hey just a few questions about the tutorial. The first thing I'm wondering is what kind of spray primer you used. I find it difficult to find a primer that sticks to plastic. Second question: How much did all of the materials coast excluding the heat gun, Scissors and exactO knife. My last question, where did you get your spirit gum and where could I find it. Thats all. Your tutorial was very helpful and I would love it if you got back to me as soon as possible. Thanks!!
Thanks for this tutorial, so helpful!! Just to clarify though-I've made my own mask today out of worbla but have only made it with one layer...is it essential to sand over the entirety of the glue coated side before spray painting?
i usually always wear contacts everyday, at comicon and every other convention as well. i only wear my glasses at night....when this happened to be filmed
was wondering if you could do a harley quinn make up tutorial on her Arkham knight version, arkham city version and arkham revenge version... i dont suit the white full face... i tried it looked really nasty because im darker toned skin, so would you be able to do a not so white harley kinda like revenge one as she isnt straight up white face? i absolutely love your tutorials and your vlogs!! been watching you for ages!!! thanks for all the tips, they really do help!!
I'm curious, will the Worbla get soft or melt in hot temperature once your done with the final product? I need it for a convention in May but it gets really hot in CA. By the way, thank you for this tutorial! It's really helpful and I appreciate you helping fellow cosplayers out!
Is there a way to make a mask stick to your face that can easily come on and off that isn't a string? Like... the spirit gum would be a solid hold and i want something that will be able to be re-applied throughout a con.
+Jenna Larson with harley quinn, you could probably attach rhe mask to the hood permanently. that way it would stay in place without string or having to glue it to your face.
So for those of us who cannot avoid the use of our glasses is this still an option? As in, can I do this and then just remove the glasses when asked for a photo? Im very stuck on this, I've put off my Harley cosplay for a while due to this issue!
If you use spirit gum to hold a mask on, do you need to glue your eyebrows with a glue stick? I've seen a few people do it to avoid sticking the mask to their eyebrows
Harley Quinn of course! Man this is really a tough question. I love a lot of villains for different reasons. Sinestro, Doomsday, Darkseid, Black Adam, the royal flush gang, Joker, Ras al Ghul...just all the batman villains really. Lol. Those are all tied for second.
"Not popular yet." Is now the most recommended material for cosplaying. Greetings from the future. I really enjoyed your video series. Very helpful.

Thank you for this, I'd looked at many mask making tutorials and this is the only one that has actually been helpful
as long as it took for the paint to dry...so about 30 mins on a nice sunny day, maybe a few hours on a cloudy or humid day.
It not necessary to sand the worbla before painting. I did so because the two layers were not flush and even. However, do sand any rough edges that may have happened from cutting.
This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!
And yes, a template would be great!
Omg thank you so much my mask turned out awesome!!! :D
Loving the Bom painting in the background!! XD
Your tutorial helped me get started! :)
the non-glue coated side. face the glue outwards so you can layer and sand if needed
brilliant!love your work.
thats a good idea i gonna do this too :D
Thanks for this tutorial! I didn't know how to do the mask :) it was super easy with worbla
I was working on my Harley outfit and this helped SO much! :)

It helped a lot, now I know how to make my little girl costume :3
Thank you for ur tutorial I was easy to follow and very detailed that even I cod understand.
Awesome tutorial! Love it!
Great Tutorial!! Do you have a template for these?!
Thanks thanks!! For this tutorial!!

What primer do you use and why? That's the bit that always confuses me in cosplay!

Thank you!
Cool im hoping to be nightwing when the next one roles around and they basically have the same mask
How long did it take in between for the mask to be sprayed, sanded and finally sprayed black?
Awesome tutorial! Do you have a template for this mask?!

I can't find it anymore. But Ill sketch out a few varieties of shapes and upload them to my dA :]
Thanks for this tutorial, so helpful!!

Do you think that this same technique would work for making a Phantom of the opera mask?
Hello , don't you have a design to print the same mask that you draw?
thank you its going to be super hero and super villan day at my school i have the tights and shoes and shirt but all i needed was a mask :)
was wondering if you could do a harley quinn make up tutorial on her Arkham knight version, arkham city version and arkham revenge version... i dont suit the white full face... i tried it looked really nasty because im darker toned skin, so would you be able to do a not so white harley kinda like revenge one as she isnt straight up white face?

wow your a great mask art girl
great tutorial...thanks!!! :D
Do you think it would work to make a "phantom of the opera" mask?
I'm curious, will the Worbla get soft or melt in hot temperature once your done with the final product? I need it for a convention in May but it gets really hot in CA. By the way, thank you for this tutorial! It's really helpful and I appreciate you helping fellow cosplayers out!
Kellax Productions Thank you! I will keep that in mind! I will be sure not to be or leave it in the sun for too long! Your tutorials are really great!
Is there a way to make a mask stick to your face that can easily come on and off that isn't a string? Like... the spirit gum would be a solid hold and i want something that will be able to be re-applied throughout a con.
Honestly i would trust a product like that to keep the mask on when i wanted it to. :/ but idk if there is such a thing
+Axceleration Cosplay That was sort of what I figured. Thanks for the quick response! I love your videos and your birdie
+Jenna Larson with harley quinn, you could probably attach rhe mask to the hood permanently. that way it would stay in place without string or having to glue it to your face.
Or use double sided tape
Pros aide
Would it be bad if I glued the two gluey sides together
I updated the description box with 2 alternative methods. :] so that should help
did you buy the worbla online or do they sell it at like stores like home depot or walmart places like that?
Awesome......I mean really cool
could i make a bigger mask from just one layer of worbla? for example a splicer mask? or do i need to put several layers over another?
Riley works is rather thin and flimsy, so I'd suggest 2 or more layers
So for those of us who cannot avoid the use of our glasses is this still an option? As in, can I do this and then just remove the glasses when asked for a photo? Im very stuck on this, I've put off my Harley cosplay for a while due to this issue!
Yes you could wear glasses over the mask
does PVC Sintra work about the same as the thermoplastic you used?
Sintra does not mold as easily as worbla.
If only that stuff was available in Australia!
If you use spirit gum to hold a mask on, do you need to glue your eyebrows with a glue stick? I've seen a few people do it to avoid sticking the mask to their eyebrows
Yes that will help to protect your eyebrows
omg just glue your eyebrows? o.O isn't that painful afterwards? :0
LissWhatever yes. As long as you remove it correctly with spirit gum remover you will be fine. Currently I glue it to my temples.
oh, okay. thanks ^^ currently working on my harley quinn mask. more work than I thought tho :D
If I can't buy the product what other things I could use for the harley masks ?
Brizzy painted the picture in the beginning of the video
It's called Worbla's Finest Art. Check out the description for a link to the website where I bought it.
Who are your two favorite DC villens? Mine are poison ivy and the huntress.
I noticed u wear glasses to. I dress up as robin how do u see at comic-con???
do an injustice Harley Quinn costume. Even though I live in MASS. im sure ill find materials. try maybe catwoman to
super cool, thanks for the tips, I'm gonna make a mask for my wife... and myself. not Harley though.
Is there a dupe is something bcuz im not paying $ 17 for some paper/plastic
No lie... I’m about to try this with aluminum foil and black liquid latex 😂😭
I’m broke, so I gotta use what I have.
Did it work
Kellax Productions where did u buy the paper/ mask mold from or where did u order It
She drew them onto newspaper and cut them out.
I searched for it and found that stuff in black. would it make sense to order that or does it look bad afterwards?
+LissWhatever black worbla works just like regular worbla. I still recommend painting it though.
okay good ^^ well, i don't have that much time left and would need to order some spraying stuff, so yeah :/
What is it made of Again
please read the description
What is a name or Plastic?
Where do you get warbla?
+Mia Lennan links are listed in the description. Thank you!
