Great vid! But struggling with something here... I am having the hardest time trying to prevent it from syncing every new email it detects with every single record that the contact is associated with. If I have 3 different opportunities going for a single contact, I don't want all 3 email threads ending up on all 3 opportunities. Is there a way to configure EAC so that emails ONLY associate with the record that the email was sent from - or if an email comes in without any context it can just sit on the Contact record's activity timeline (and, again, not be on any related records like the Opportunities). I have followed countless tutorials and have been skimming through any SF help article that mentions EAC. I'm not seeing anything about turning off this overly-aggressive association, but (even more frustratingly) I can't even find anything that tells me that I can't do this. Would greatly appreciate any insight!
It chooses what records to tag against based on set system controlled behaviour that isn't editable. You can however disconnect individual emails from a record if you wanted.
Great walkthrough! I will say that my biggest hesitation when companies are looking at EAC, is the reporting functionality of emails that are auto-logged via EAC. It's a tricky business to pull normal Salesforce reports on the EmailMessage object.
this is so complicated. I did everything your video suggested. I created a dummy lead in Partial using my yahoo account. I setup my work google account. I sent an email from salesforce which triggered gmail to send the email to my yahoo. This was displayed in the activity. From my personal Yahoo, I replied, but I checked salesforce and nothing shows on the activity. SF loves to make this stuff complicated.
I also setup google extensions salesforce, but this has nothing to do with the ability to see the whole history of activities from emails sent internally or externally. This is the poop that I've been trying to figure out with no success. I must be dumb, eventhough I can code apex, migrate PB and replace zapier with in-house custom code for creating google calendar events.
Thanks for the feedback. Will consider this for future videos. If you are struggling with this video in particular you can reduce the speed of the playback

Content coming soon on the new EAC Unified Reporting Beta
@@CRMTom92 Looking forward to that! So many shortcomings, not surprised considering it was a closed beta.
Will following these steps enable the External calendar sync for users selected?
Yes if you enable Event Sync and Users are connected

Is your EAC Configuration set to track emails ?
where is that specifically set, i did not see that in the video

This is covered in the video from approx 00:27
Yes I did that too and I didn't add any domains to the excluded list@@CRMTom92 anyways, I don't expect you to solve this problem via comments.
You are speaking very fast. It feels like I am watching in 2x speed. Also, video could have been 1080P.
Thanks for the feedback. If you like you can watch the video at a slower speed if it helps
I quite liked this actually @@CRMTom92

The tuto has no added value since you're speaking very fast stressing your trainees to understand what you're saying
