This era of dirtbikes were magic. These Kawis were such nice looking bikes. My buddy at the lake had an 85 KX80 and i had an 84 RM80. They were really close in power and ride. And the best summers of my life tearing around on them. This bike sounds crisp and looks amazing!!
Yes it was. I always wanted an RM, CR, or YZ 80 but my dad insisted on an RT100 he thought it was better for trails I suppose. I did get to ride my cousins kx80 and it was so much fun to ride. I moved up to a xr250 and eventually traded it for a 400 ex. I always wanted a fourwheeler and it was like pulling teeth to eventually get one but those were the good ole days.
I think 80 to 87 was the best hears for dirt bikes. They ran crazy good, you could not hurt them, etc. They were fantastic pieces of history. I had a YZ 80 bought new in 83, that I rode daily for hours, jumped crazy distances, etc and it never skipped a beat. Great times!
Ahh. The song of my youth whole time we rode trails & pits in Oxford ma. They still have trails open to bikes 👍. That mean green machine 🎉 a rippa thanks again Ken st & team.
I worked at Regency Kawasaki in Jacksonville Florida when I was in high school, my job was to take all the bikes out of the crates in jet skis prep them for the showroom floor. In 1985 and 1986 I remember when the 86 was coming out it was the first to feature rear disc brake I saved up some money and bought the first one that came into the dealership that bike was so well-balanced and fast to this day out of all the motorcycles I've ever owned which has been no exaggeration probably over 60 motorcycles the 1986 KX125 Works replica was hands down my favorite motorcycle of all time
Yeah, there’s something about that KX green and the way they built those 125/250 bikes… just inticing. Supposedly, they had more power than CRs at that time… sure felt like it. The color combo gets me every time
I had the same bike as my first bike. The bikes almost twice my age nd its been my favorite to ride nd work on. Mine had the 84 engine though the last year without power valves. Tht one there is mint
I had a 93 it was my first ‘modern’ dirt bike i owned bought it in 94. You can ride the wheels off a 125! I had an absolute riot riding it and my confidence was through the roof at 16 with a bike that was that good.
The bikes from the good old days of motocross racing! Thanks for sharing Ken! I bet somebody could race that 125s and still do great
Those sounds that bike makes are awesome
We had a 80 KX125 when I was 15 and a group of friends learned to jump in it and were all hooked.
Kawasaki KX 125 1985 nice bike thanks Kaplan America cycles awesome class love all the videos 👍🇬🇧❤️
Love watching your breakdown on these projects/bikes.

Fine looking bike. I love how y'all are now putting green sprockets on your Kawasaki KX Restoration Dirtbikes.
Love the 85 first kips bike with good low end power. Love the front fenders too. 👌
Great job man ,I’m restoring a 88 kx 125

That engine rings of maximum output and efficiency...design perfection for what it is. Nice!
Looks and sounds great!
I had the 87,88 and 89 KX 125’s
My dad had the 85 KX 125, I had the 86. Loved both of those bikes.

@@mikemay7134 me too! Something about the way it handled and the way it made power I just connected with.
Loved that bike.
You can say they all sound the same or similar but the sound of that green flying by when I was a kid whhooowhoooo!! 😎👍

@@Fickochlove that color scheme and graphics. Even the KX 60 was a lil beast and sounded fantabulous like it’s big bro’s !

Too rad. I was 13 in 85 🖤🏁 it !!
I love the old school featured bikes. Can I get some Kawasaki 2 stroke street bikes too? Cafe racer?
1985 KX 125 mind melting green machine from Kaplan cycles 💎
First bike I bought myself loved it alot 5 gear wheelies np!
Had a 86 kx 125, made a great woods/hair scramble bike. I preferred my 86 CR 125 for the track.
I went from 1972 sl70 to 1985 kdx 80. First ride hitting the power band, eyes watering, was amazing. Kx I think was geared a lot tighter
Music to my ears 🎵🎵🎵
Someone needs to get on the triumph train....please bring the triumph tf250, 450, and the holy grail 450rc edition....

That is really nice!!! I race a similar but way less cool set up in the late 90's in the 40+ bozo class. 1997 Elsinore GP actually. Brapp!
