Great video of one of the most beautiful buildings in America!
The carved animals on the staircases were created by Florence Thomas, who went on to become the artist at Sawyer's who sculpted the little people, animals and the sets for View-Master children's reels.( Like Little Red Riding Hood)It's a small world!

Thanks! If I’d know that I’d have definitely included it in the video! What a great fact.

Great info on that skiway bus. I can remember when I first viewed the reel, I wondered about that bus. Everyone of your travels are marvelous!

That Skiway pic is a favourite of mine too - a real shame the bus didn't last too long, and how different the building looks now. The lodge looks beautiful. Definitely my kind of place, even without snow. Fascinating vid, as always.

Timberline Lodge looks hand made because it IS handmade. The people who worked for the WPA, did each doorhandle, fireplace, etc by hand. Much of the fabrics are also handmade, as are the light fixtures.
