Back in '97, when this show was first on Dutch TV, my 17-yo self wasn't aware that his "patients" were in fact comedians doing a routine. I liked it nonetheless, it marked the sad end of the weekend for me in the funniest way possible.
I hear you. I too was 17 when the show came out and I remember coming home late and this would be on like 2:30 a.m... There was nothing even remotely like this at the time. Great show. When I found it on here it definitely took me back. Cheers from Buffalo, N.Y. to shared memories with complete strangers from across the globe my friend.
I recognized that as Steven Wright before he even spoke lol. My art teach mentioned this show to me after he learned I enjoy Home Movies, and I am loving it. Thanks professor!
@@leauxhoney4842 SO true! I was repulsed at the idea when my babysitter made it for me as a kid, but then I tried it and it is honestly quite amazing. I can’t get my kids to try it, or any other form of bologna, but all told, that’s actually a good thing.
man. this brings back memories of late highschool. ditchin morning classes and watchin early morning comedy central. pullin bongs before lunch. Hahaha. havent thought of this in years. lmao!
kevin meaney has such a goofy voice. really stands out and i always remember from childhood is the "what's the matter with you, it's not right" he used to always do haha
the animation was so simple but the subtleties made it hilarious. like the giant head man at 11:06 with the darting eyes and wispy hair blowing in the wind ahhah
Steven Wright is a legend and he's one of the few comedians on this show whose routine sounded like real psychological problems.....Ben needs an accident down the stairs, though
At 12:10 of the episode "Real Estate" S2E2, is a fountain showing the top parts of some statuary spitting waters, and one figure has wings, so webbed feet..? Still want to see in whole, though.
I think I've been seeing these shows one too many times I'm starting to know what they say before they say it LOL this show started about the same time South Park started but this was comedy Central at 9:00 p.m.
The replay value of this show is phenomenal.
Replay value so high I'm in the middle of rewatching the entire series AGAIN
I can watch it all over again every few months!
Feels so spontaneous
I’ve been watching it for years!
It’s become part of my bedtime routine the last couple of weeks... I was too young to really watch the show when it was airing but it’s excellent
Dr. Katz is the greatest sleeping playlist I've ever found and used for years. Beautiful. I sleep in shifts.
omg, I thought I was alone
I thought I was alone I play it at night when I can't sleep
same here. since circa 2011 😂
I sleep in shifts too, except there’s only one guy and there’s nothing out there
Yep. December 3rd 2023 in Brooklyn nyc, about to do that maneuver right now.
"and possibly as few as none, were fired." lmao
Crazy right :-)

You deserve much credit for appreciating this show at the young age of 17. Sophisticated subtle humor
of Jonathan and Ben was singular .
I remember seeing it too on Dutch TV. But I was a little younger and too young to appreciate it. I have learned to appreciate it later in life.
Who wouldn’t want to have a low-key, funny, loving dad, like Dr. Katz. Lucky son.
yeah compared to cartoon dads on tv right now he’s great
He lets him be a loser sponge
Amen to that.
Yeah, having a useless 25 year old parasite is awesome parenting.
comments like this are really sad
Steven Wright is a genius. He sees life in a whole different light. Love you Steven!
"how abstract are you gonna get in here?"
🤣
Impossible
Always loved the chilled out comedy vibe and unique animation style of the show.
Same
i used to have a fear of fences.
but i got over it.
LAUZERTV congratulations!

@@Icanfigureitoutintime yeah u r so funny I love that!
This is one of my favorite episodes. Meaney is hilarious!
Me too, and Stephen Wright :)
Meanie is my favorite of his patients!
"Do you have intrusive thoughts?" "That's impossible."
@lordvishnu Blue.
@@xRick_C-137x hey how abstract are we gonna get here
The premise for this show was such a great formula.
“You’re looking at a bystander here”
“I could’ve told you that”
Hahaha
I could watch an entire series with Steven Wright talking to himself.
I recognized that as Steven Wright before he even spoke lol. My art teach mentioned this show to me after he learned I enjoy Home Movies, and I am loving it. Thanks professor!
Cool ass professor
I think I had the same professor as you
@@VeraxMusic That would be a funny coincidence if we did. Was it for a graphic design/art class?
My taste for bologna hasn't really peaked at this hour.
Fried bologna and eggs for breakfast is ethereal 😭
This show changed my life,I still advise people based on this show, the truth in humor does have great healing qualities

"Do you feel like you have a special mission?"
"I didn't until you just asked me that"
“And now I’m wondering what it is and if you’re involved ....and I’m wondering if it’s very violent .”
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I forgot how much I absolutely LOVED this show! It still makes me laugh 😂
This was such an AMAZING show. So underappreciated as usual....

Lol!
+David Paul Man you're lucky..I had to buy them on dvd to see any of them. Was off of TV before i could even begin to understand the humor.
Yep, I remember pre-South Park, pre-Daily Show, almost dead Comedy Central lol. It was sweet.
I didn’t try weed till I was in college.
These episodes in headphone mode and earbuds all day to block out the madness.
❤🎉❤
kevin meaney has such a goofy voice. really stands out and i always remember from childhood is the "what's the matter with you, it's not right" he used to always do haha
To this day I still come out of the bathroom wrapped in towels with only my eyes showing screaming "DON'T LOOK AT ME!!!!"
We aren’t looking at you WE GOTTA PEE.
Great show. This was made in the Golden Era of movies and TV.
I still say "no daddy, I don't want to eat the birds that fall from the sky" and "you're not reading" and so many more...Rest in Peace Kevin.
Haha, I say stuff from this episode too:
"Look at 'em. Look at 'em, look at 'em, look at 'em."
The episodes with him are the best
I love the voice he does of his Aunt 😂
Shit. I never knew he died. :
I do the same thing!
“No more than three shots, and possibly as few as none” 😂
If it’s 3:00AM & I can’t sleep, it’s Dr. Katz time…
Absolutely have cried laughing at this comic hero. Period.
God, Archer sounds so young here.
LANAAAAAA
Ben Katz, just a regular old Hollywood star living in his dad's apartment.
ASMRWhisperLight.
I can see that,if he acting like he do on the show :-)

@@Saffronelle in his own head
I don’t know if you can get more polar opposite in demeanor than Steven Wright and Kevin Meaney
Good point. Gilbert Gottfried and Bob Newhart?
"new plan new plan" 😆 and "i'm sweating internally"
I loved this show so much!!
Comprehensive, relatable, clever sarcasm. Love this work of art. ♥️♥️♥️
I never got into this show when I was a kid and watching it now it is genius!
"You gotta stop explaining the joke. When you do that, life's not worth living." Possibly the most profound thing ever said in SquiggleVision.
“You’re looking at a bystander right here”
“I could’ve told you that”
This episode was HILARIOUS 😆
Steven Wright is PERFECT for Dr Katz
15:54 - i LOVE Dr Katz's jokes! love the pool one.
Dr.Katz is the best thing happened to the cinema.
you know what, im gonna skip dessert
you already had dessert ben
well ok ill have some
Stephen Wright was definitely the perfect guest
He and Katz work off of each other brilliantly
"Except there's only one guy and there's nothing out there" 🤣 Pure genius!
I always loved Kevin Meany.
I'd forgotten how good Dr Katz is.
This episode is why, when my kids are doing schoolwork, I say you’re not reading nothin are ya?
'Criminals can't read'
I decided I am going to tell my worker I am seeing Dr. Katz lol
You know Ben really gets it, I was in the paper myself so I know what a big deal it is
Goodness I've reached Bens age and I feel like an equally lazy slob, keep preaching!
I'm 23, same here
i'm 43 same
The scene starting at 9:44 with Kevin is one of the funniest things in the whole series.
You’re damn right!
yep this has been in my head since the 90s and i had no idea other people knew it as i've never met anyone who knows this show.
Totally agree!! It's one of the funniest bits EVER by ANY comedian. So funny. Meaney's stories about his parents are the greatest ever.
"I'm in the waiting room of a psychiatrist, and I'm thinking 'act like nothing's wrong.'"
the animation was so simple but the subtleties made it hilarious. like the giant head man at 11:06 with the darting eyes and wispy hair blowing in the wind ahhah
yep the timing of the animation is hilarious

NO DADDY! I DONT WANT TO EAT THE BIRDS FROM THE SKY!
He had serious ISSUES!!!
It's not so much as i lied it's that they printed the lie
Anyone else think the fish eating the other fish each episode is friggin' hilarious? XD
Ahhh, yes! "Squiggle-Vision"! And the sweetest therapist😇🤩😍🥳🥰😘🙏😀😁😉🙃🤭🤗🍀
My favorite show of all time
As many as three, and possibly as few as none, shots were fired.
I wonder whatever became of Ben. Did he at some point work at the videostore? How did he handle the bankruptcy of the video on tape business?
He said alot of good things.
He killed him self when social media became a thing.
He gained a lot of weight, his hair turned red, and he became an elementary school soccer coach.
He became a spy agent for his mum's private security firm and had many exciting and hilarious adventures for the first 6 seasons
5:20 bro not letting the intrusive thoughts win 💯
I’m sure that once I go to therapy, my coffee consumption will come up.
Easily Kevin Meaneys funniest bits.
Steven Wright is absolutely hilarious in this episode! "I'm sweating internally." Baaahahahaha!
"BLUE" *blue thought bubble* jesus christ, I'm wheezing
I love Dr.Kats!!!!! Xoxoxo
"I need another coffee. I'm so wired. No one knows, though. I'm sweating internally."
lmao!! "No, Daddy!! I dont wanna eat the birds that fall from the sky!!!"
Omg that literally made me laugh so hard my eyes are crying, wtf!!
Gimme that hot dog! Get with it!!
Goin thru Season 1 for the first time. Steven Wright has definitely made me laugh the hardest of all the patients so far. Winona Ryder a close second.
Steven Wright is a legend and he's one of the few comedians on this show whose routine sounded like real psychological problems.....Ben needs an accident down the stairs, though
He’s great.
What about "Does my nose look bulbous to you?"
"when a woman comes up to you with a notebook, you'd better have something to say."
"the media's all connected" boy you said it
Thanks for sharing the Dr Katz episodes! #drkatzprofessionaltherapist
Steven Wright had to get in his quintessential coffee hyper joke 😂
I promised myself that I would never eat on an empty stomach
Kevin Meaney= Pure Genius.
-“Do you feel like the tv or the computer can control your thoughts?”
