As a 76 years old I've known Joan Baez through her music for most of my life. I've always lover her voice, music, and activism. I was in the US Air Force from 1966 through 1969, I was against the war in Vietnam. But turned 18 in 1965 and knew I would drafted once I turned 18, so I proactively joining the USAF. The draft notice arrived while I was in basic training. I remember listening to one of her albums at my first duty station in 1966. She and her voice were beautiful then and now.
What a lovely interview with a truly wonderful human being. I look forward to seeing your film. It’s been a long & interesting journey since we met in the summer of ‘79. Delighted to see you doing so well, still gorgeous & cracking jokes.
Always have loved Ms Baez. Hope to see her documentary in Seattle. I must give kudos to the interviewer for his heart in choosing his words. Love the fact that he included his father's love for Joan. So very respectful of the producers, as friends of Joan. He obviously has done his homework in knowing her family's contributions to who Joan has been and is. Thank you so very much. Namaste 🙏
What a wonderful woman Joan Baez- a gift to mankind! I listen to her "Forever Young" at 89 and get still inspired. I have listened to her from 1960. God Bless you Joan Baez, spirit is ageless! Greetings and gratitude for all the good you have spread and still spreading in your life journey. Thank you for this interview.
I saw the documentary :" I am a noise" in Berlin at the Berlinale, it ' an intense, sensitive approach to Joan Baez, I was very touched by it. She got not only a beautiful voice, no she got a heart of gold too. This documentary is very honest, full of courage and by the way it's a documentary of the USA in special years too. Thank you very much for that interview and I wish for Joan Baez and the filmmakers a big success, they deserve it!!! And I can't believe that Joan Baez doesen't sing anymore.
What a gorgeous interview! I love the respect the interviewer gave out to Joan, Joans music and the work that directors have put in to this film. He really made this 20min interview worth while
Her voice is that of an angel her spirit is what we need into today's world. She contributed greatly to the folk music Era but mire importantly to the Civil Rights movement in the country and the world.
I have DID, Joan has been a hero of mine for years, I was in awe of the courage in Play Me Backwards which has given me precious solidarity, I haven't been able to see the documentary yet but I'm so pleased for her that she's been able to talk openly.
