I have a Blackout, and I took a Bobber for a test ride the other day on a CCM test ride day. The bike goes and stops and handles very well for that style of bike. However, I prefer the Blackout, which like the Maverick, is a scrambler type, from a riding position viewpoint. Observations on this test ride...As pointed out, the engine and gearbox wasn't run in and the tyres were new and not scrubbed in. That makes for a less than perfect riding experience on a wet day. The clutch needs adjusting, the clutch action was certainly not normal. If you can't do it yourself it would be a first service item. I found neutral on mine, same engine, from the beginning and have never had an issue. I have never had to stop the engine to find neutral. Mirrors. Why on earth were the mirrors the wrong way up? The mirrors should be pointing up, not down! With them up, not down you can see fine. Town, and the 20mph limits that were being ridden in, is not the natural environment of the CCM from my viewpoint. The Bobber test ride I went on involved keeping up with a test rider on twisting Sussex lanes, at the national speed limit. That is where my Blackout spends its time and for that it is perfect. A big single, where you can never get out of third in town, is not ideal in an urban environment. You are better of with a twist and go. Are they worth it? That is a matter opinion.
CCM Café Racer owner. I would describe mine as quirky. Its like an old brit bike, but brought up to date. Which as an old brit bike owner I like. I can go out on an old brit and always wonder if I'm getting home or will I have to push it. The CCM gives me the feel old and old single cylinder BSA or Triumph but I know I can get back home. I'm not a new bike fan so for me its like an old 1950's bike but more reliable
What brand or MC is better for the money that is just as good looking? I am genuinely interested. Cause i wanna buy a good looking bike and so far i have only found CCM.
Had a scrambler…….sat in the lounge waiting for the weather to improve and the frame started to rust, the seat was a mare to fit after connecting the battery optimate and went through three captive nuts as nothing aligns. The wheels were not balanced, you run out of gears apparently as the gearbox ratios are clearly for off-roading, the ignition was an utter pain to turn on/off and having spoken to other owners and heard their tales of woe, I decided it was clearly junk. Sold it having waited over a year for it to arrive with broken promise after broken promise, plus the spec had changed from the day I ordered to the day it arrived. Never again!
Sold mine after 1500 mls. All the problems you mentioned and some. Wrong engine, scraped the pegs far too easy. Never any good for a long run. ( around town only)
They have a tiny clutch reservoir and i believe the level drops as the plates bed in. Sounds like the clutch is therefore dragging and that's why you can't find neutral. Poor pdi on someone's part. They're maybe not a good 'first impressions' bike but the owners adore them on the social media groups, which is always a good sign. Maybe it's a slow burn thing? Or marmite? 🙂
I have a feeling you will not be getting another CCM to review 😁 Good honest review. Mirrors probably will flip above your hands. Running wide and vibration is a deal breaker though.
I honestly think I agree. The tyre pressures is a nothing you should have just adjusted the clutch. But I find myself agreeing with the rest of your review . Even though I ride classic bikes and I have supermoto. I even ride a dyna. But I don’t know what the ccm is. Two of my mates have them and they don’t know ether. I’ll find out because my wife wants one. Like yourself I see the beauty and the art. But I hate husky engines. One last thing I will also agree on. It’s better than anything in those galleries. I just see the kings new clothes. A lot of people had their pants pulled down in the name of art. I’d rather look at the ccm with those gorgeous billet and carbon parts and all that fantastic British workmanship . Just saying.
Bobbers are ridiculous, expensive poseur’s fashion options that will not age well. I remember when CCM used to build actual real motorcycles. There are always a few of these things on eBay.
Dude was almost done for at 10:50, thanks for risking your life out here for the reviews mate ❤
So close!

Adjust the mirrors, clutch and tyre pressures and retry it! Then make sure the stand modifications have been carried out.

Nearly dies at 10:50 and doesn't flinch 🤣
He's made of different stuff Nik
I have to say your review is one of the best reviews on the ccm and I agree with all your comments there’s better for the money and better to ride

@@lilleville93Triumph Bobber? RE Classic 350?
So not a decompression lever but a "funky little choke thing"?
Love the exhaust, far better looking than the new one, although not as practical. Who makes that exhaust (or is it in-house)?

Admire your honesty 👏. I agree as a garage ornament perfect it does look lovley

Scraping pegs is fun and flattering.

Who would of thought a big single would be vibey 🙄
I like it, looks like something from Mad Max.
Good honest review
Wish i still had an szr660.
Man you are special!! You need to put the mirrors up not down below your hands then you can see behind you 😂 👀

Running wide is rider error.
Looks like a gentlemans excuse me !
Prefer to see it going around city.
Since 2016 the Union Jack has been a source of embarrassment

Wrong side of the road 😂
Ccm. Overpriced, old technology and someone else's old engine design...
Really is a marmite bike this one, people either love it or hate it.
Bobbers are ridiculous, expensive poseur’s fashion options that will not age well. I remember when CCM used to build actual real motorcycles. There are always a few of these things on eBay.
Shite!
They look quite nice, but but crap everywhere else, nothing british about it only the name.
