I have 1 of those too. It really does start easy so it will be up to the owner if he wants to spend the $$. I think he's just gonna flip it for quick cash.
It's possible it is A electronic government control arm solenoid switch for when it's producing power itself adjusts the engine speed automatically at one setting.
That's A industrial/commercial machine set-up that's either A Honda engine.,or Briggs & Stratton over head valves industrial/commercial twin cylinder.,or opposed twin cylinder engine.
Yeah John, another of my followers @davessmallenginerevival commented it's a big Briggs vanguard. He's done many engine swaps with this engine of varying horse power. I'm still waiting on the fuel grommet and shutoff to get this thing gone. Thanks for commenting.
Yeah, I'm thinking it's called a servo or stepper motor. Something like that. If I was to put a welder or big AC unit on there to put a big load on it, I think that would control the governor and add RPMs. That's my guess anyways. Thanks for the help and hope you guys are doing well. 👍 I'll be by soon to support your channel.
Hey buddy. Thats an expensive engine on there. Its a briggs Vanguard, made by the Japanese for B&S. Youve seen me work on a few. My big cub cadet has a 20hp Vanguard. That thing you dont know what it is is for when you have that idle switch thingy turned on , on the panel will turn the engine down to idle when there's no load on it. Like if you had a fridge plugged into it , it would go full throttle when the fridge turns on and then back to idle when the fridge turns off. Doesn't that thing have an electric start on it? Its a nice genny thats for sure
Commenting only on my own purchases of unknowns. Turn ON the run switch, drain the junk in the bowl, check for oil, plug in a light, THEN carb spray and start. Nice generator. Whats the THD?
I guess I'm a little different in the way I approach stuff that has sat for a while. The run switch not being turned on is just an oversight on my part. Things like that happen so I choose to leave it in the video. I'm not worried that it makes me look bad or forgetful, just human. 😆 When I look at a machine for the first time I look to see if it can tell me a story. IE: The fuel shut-off was in the off position, the engine run switch was also in the off position. That tells me that the machine was most likely running before it sat for an extended period of time. The overfill on the oil tells me that someone was just a little careless when they topped off the oil. Not a big deal if that was the case. If the oil was high on the stick because of a stuck needle and seat then I would have to address that issue. So that just left me to deep clean the carb, replace the line to the tank and test run. For me, there's no point in throwing money at it if it's not generating electricity. Now after you've seen the video and it does what it's supposed to, I have ordered the fuel shut off and grommet, replaced the spark plugs, new oil filter, cleaned the air filter, scrubbed the tank and replaced the fuel line. I appreciate your comment but I think it only fair to explain my train of thought going into something I've never seen or worked on before. I hope to see you here in the comments again my friend. I appreciate you. 👍
@@ZombieDaveAZno doubt there are different tshooting methods. I like the IV quick fuel fill. I've sucked bad fuel from the bowl more than any other problem so I drain it. The large gens have more doodads also. If the paint is faded badly good chance fuel line parts are cracked. Plastic tanks make life easy. I like the center hook. Good video
Great job of figuring things out. You also weren’t invasive with your repairs. You can use a battery pack just like jumping a car.

Yeah it's just from setting around not running for A while. It'll run 👍 good.
That can run A entire camp of up to two units like dual camper's.,or etc. it's A electronic fuel pump solenoid switch control.
It's possible it is A electronic government control arm solenoid switch for when it's producing power itself adjusts the engine speed automatically at one setting.
You nailed it. Servo motor for when the generator is running under load. It opens the throttle or shuts it down to keep constant electric flow. 👍
It could be A automatic choke control solenoid sensor switch to.

Don't know for a fact, but I think maybe that thing is the electronic idle control.

And fuel shut down switch in one.
Honda EU generator/invertors and clones have those all in 1 shutoffs. Those are nice.

It does have electric start and I was calling that little thing a servo motor to control the throttle. So I was close. Lol.🤨

Total harmonic distortion on that unit is probably five or 6%
@@gabaradama144k9 doubt it. Maybe at idle.
@@krg038 yeah, I could probably agree with that. It all depends on what load you’re running.
