I sometimes cringed at wrong terminology and not knowing some specialized wording but damn do you make good repairs. This shutter system is called leaf shutters. There shouldn’t be any oil on them at all, oil just leaks on them. And the brass piece is a part of the “escapement” system really similar to how watches work. Nicely done The T setting is for very long exposures with a tripod, one press opens it and one press closes it. If a second press doesn’t close it it may be one that needs to turn the shutter dial a bit. Would be happy to answer some questions!

Great repair!!! I am as older than this camera and for me it is not old lol :) I have grown using this and older ones. I thank you for this revival. I have MANY cameras as this. Cheers from Patagonia, Argentina.
Great job fixing a cool vintage film camera! Bolsey, the man, has quite a notable, and prominent history, in photography & cinematography ….. worth checking out online! As a film camera collector, it was fun to watch this! Thanks
Cool!! BTW I bought a $900 Canon digital SLR camera and it took way worse video than your iPhone pro max. I can't believe the video quality you're getting from a phone! I'm gonna ebay for one
All I can think of for holding it wide open is a long exposure/time lapse picture. Hold it open in the middle of the night with a quarter moon and let it sit for an hour???
I think that’s correct, maybe the moon would be too bright, but stars/the Milky Way would work. I’ll have to try it sometime with my film camera, see what I can capture.

hey, good repair! i'd love to see some photos taken with the camera if you or your brother ever use it! you should do a follow-up video
Great Video man. I defiantly would have lost my mind with those light weight shutters looked terrible lining those up in getting them in.
Thanks! It really wasn’t too bad, maybe 3 times until I got it.
11:32 i think t stands for long time exposures
T is for timed exposure
Cool!!

Thanks, I did have to redo a few shots a couple of times to get better focus haha
T. is for time exposure. Joe C.
Thanks! That makes sense, and as someone else said it would probably be used for long time exposure of the night sky

Shutter blades should not have any oil on them whatsoever. None. They should be dry.
