UPDATE: As of patch 1.18, the 15% Concentration Coil glitch is fixed! You can now loot it after the cut scene, so no need to try and loot it super fast anymore!
Even though I didn't know what I was missing at the time, I still remember that moment in Kotallo's quest where I kill that scorcher and I walk over to get the loot, only to be interrupted by that cutscene. I was all "no worries, I'll just loot it when the cut scene is done" womp womp. then months later I find out that loot contained a once-a-playthrough coil GRRR
Ah yeah. That pesky coil! It’s got to be a glitch the way it’s working now. I can imagine they’d put a great coil like that in the game and then give you 0.5 seconds to loot it lol
Don't feel bad. I'm on my third playthrough and I just now got that coil. My strategy was to tie down the scorcher, then frost arrows, then boltblaster standing as close to the machine as I could, ready to loot very quickly. I missed the loot on my first attempt, but I did create a manual save at that nearby campfire. If you "restart from last save" it won't take you back far enough, and I didn't want to trust any autosaves.
Little tip for anyone that doesn’t know about it: As far as I’m aware the only way to get a purple +15% concentration damage coil is during the side mission where kotallo tests his new arm. You have to kill the machine and immediately loot it before the cutscene starts to get the coil. I recommend making a backup save just before you do it as the timing is sometimes tricky. I’m currently on a 3rd and probs final playthrough so I’ll be able to get a 3rd one of these. Edit: I shudda watched the vid before posting this lol oh well it may help still
Dont know the best strategy for getting that coil quickly, but ive found a way that works well enough for me without more than a couple of retries. I put the difficulty on story, sneak up with a silent strike while wearing the winterweave, which knocks it for a few seconds and almost kills it, ideal for positioning for a follow-up shot. after the strike it takes only one shot with a good hunterbow on a weakpoint to finish it off, make sure to be a couple of steps away from it when it happens so you can swoop in and grab the coil. Dont shoot the rear component though for your killing blow, the resulting shock explosion can delay you enough to miss looting the coil.
The best time for the backup save is when you meet him near the final campfire of the mission, after clicking „call Kotallo” turn around and do a quick save at that same campfire. Even though you get an auto save just before the fight I learned the hard way what happens if You fail too many times. If you miss the coil and the cutscene starts, backup your second to last autosave (the cutscene auto saves the game). Make a mental note of the time of the save and keep loading it after every fail, once it’s overwritten load the quick save. If You are better then me at looting you hopefully won’t need it.
@@apocalipseleaguepl9248 yh I think I did a manual save. On my first playthrough I needed a second or 3rd attempt, on second playthrough I think I managed it first go. Its probs easier if you can kill it with a boosted silent strike (difficulty dependant) or close quarters weapon so you can get to it quickly.
@@apocalipseleaguepl9248 You can make a manual save after the cutscene where the Scorcher appears even. that way if you need to reload, the scorcher is already out & wandering about.
I've just finished my first play-through of Forbidden West and Burning Shores, and am looking forward to NG+ after a break. Your guides have been super useful for understanding how to get the most out of the game mechanics.
Hey, brother. I've been watching your HFW videos, and they've been extremely useful to me. Especially, the ones about how to fight machines, but many others, such as the ones about weapons and coils, as well. This game is massive and there are so many things to learn that it was very hard for me not to feel overwhelmed by so much information at the beginning. Your videos have definitely helped clear the fog. Thanks a lot for all the hard work you've done for this community. And, in the words of our dear magistrate, Javad The Willing, "you've done the Sundom and my sanity a great service". Please accept this little reward. Subscribed. Look forward to more content.
you the real Horizon MVP, finished the game some time ago but sitll watch your stuff. your voice, delivery makes your videos a easy watch and listen. keep it up
Thanks Dennis! Glad you still enjoy my content even though you’re done with the game. I have plenty more video ideas for Horizon that I’ll be doing at least until GoW drops in November. Thanks for your support! 🤜🤛
So much of the content I find on this game is on lower difficulties and basically useless if you play on very/ultra hard. This content is very helpful.
Perfect, finished my normal 100 percent run, almost done with my easy get all the champion tokens run, and will be starting my uh run probably next week. Perfect timing
Massive thank you for all your guides! I got the 100% with NG Plus as well, and a lot of it was thanks to you, how well you explain everything. The fights were easy not because I am a good player but because your guides make everything simple and easy to understand. All the best! (also lowkey I'm hoping you will do a SteelRising guides series maybe when it releases :D )
Hey thanks Seri! Glad to hear you’ve been finding my content helpful 😄 You know, I hadn’t heard of SteelRising, but it looks interesting. I’ll check it out some more and see if I want to play it enough to make content for it. It might be tough to make a bunch of content with GoW coming only a month later though.
Thanks so much for this tutorial. Changed my load out to mostly match yours and I was able to kill a Thunderjaw so quickly. The high critical hit chance on Iriv’s Downfall helped a TON.
@@ArktixOfficial One thing I’m noticing is that I think it might also be boosting Iriv’s Downfall’s chance of getting an instant shocked state. I’ve been getting a lot of instant shocks since I switched to the critical chance hit build.
Another super helpful video from the master of the Horizon guides 👌 I really hope we get instant shock coils and instant berserk coils in the DLC and maybe a coil that increases damage to machines in the berserk state would be cool.
Something important I had to learn in NG+ was how to fully utilize the agro mechanics as stealth is much harder, but still totally viable strategy. For example when fighting stalkers in the jungle wind turbine park you can no longer just snipe them from atop without being noticed. It’s better to be in the grass and when hitting one roll backwards and hide in grass elsewhere because they will attack from where you fired as it’s where they last saw you. Also you aren’t invisible in grass, it’s when it’s grass between you and the enemies eye you are safe. Lastly when the yellow timer has expired but the machine still has yellow eyes (small window, about a second) you can get a free hit without agroing. What I use is TotL with 3x component tear and 2x normal tear to remove components and armor. DS with 5x stealth to do 193 damage normaly SS with 5x fire/acid. If you have the instant coils you can put them on a normal arrow hunter bow with your desired element (I use acid) and just keep hitting them from a unreachable spot until it triggers (I have got once 6 in a row) Fire hunter bow to trigger canisters cheaply. The old legendary sharp shot bow with 5x crit to fire at weak points when everything is teared off (remember you can hit eyes for more damage) And the new sharp shot with 5x long range coils. I only use this when my power shot is in use as I get 5 free (not free if using weapon arts) shots that do more then a crit, did 7000 even damage on a turtle’s kinetic dynamo (which can be hit without removing shell bolts) it has long range so that it’s useful in boss battles. This play style requires patients, maneuverability and very little resources (seriously I have like 1700+ crystal braiding and almost 3000 volatile sludge) Recommend utaru winter weave for everything except close combat, use Nora thunder warrior then. Finding good unreachable vantage points is easy as Aloy is a mountain goat and now after unlocking the base you have access to sunwing for more spots and maneuvers (DO NOT expect it to save you when runing away, it will most likely just land or get stuck, leaving you to die.
Neat! That's a really fun loadout and approach, I must admit I tried something SORT of similar when taking on large camps on Very Hard. Sounds like you've really play-tested the style and loadout a great deal, too. *smiles, shakes her head* That's impressive! *smiles teasing!* But *I* have 3800 volatile sludge! .... ...but only because I'm a grinder, not because I'm any good at anything lol. YOU are amazing! Best wishes my friend!
Woah, I did not know about that Scorcher coil!!! As I sink deeper into UH the challenge is beginning to show, it definitely feels a bit more tricky than it did back in HZD (Which I love). So, as always, thanks for the tips!
Man you're the only content creator keeping me interested about this game! learning about so much different weapons and playstyles made me pickup the game again. I'm going to grind like crazy with the sheet you linked in the description to try this awesome loadout of yours, thanks a lot for doing these videos man! we appreciate you :)
Recently completed NG+ on very hard. For the most part it was going well, but for the final boss I barely survived and figured I would not have made it through on Ultra Hard. I used mostly hunter bows for damage output and with this video I see what I can do differently. Gonna invest in Iriv's Downfall
I was on last boss for a long time on ultra hard, she’s pretty relentless and I ran out of all my healing items when she finally dropped down. I’ve seen people beat her in a matter of seconds though so it’s all about good planning and using the right loadout
Iriv's Downfall is a monster, I love it! Yeah my pastachio'd friend, that final boss is what's got me worried. I'm a horrible creature at dodging, and sadly end up relying on massive amounts of healing to compensate, but with no access to Stash in the final run it's really difficult! I've yet to try it on Very Hard, I'm literally waiting to do that today, Singularity. I've been relying on food a GREAT deal, and have a huge stash of my favourites built up for Ultra Hard. ...to be honest, I do that in regular life too soooo...... Heh be safe my friend, best of luck to you on your UH run!
Congrats on completing NG+! Yeah the final boss can be pretty tough. Definitely give Iriv's Downfall as try. The sharpshot damage is really helpful on higher difficulties!
You and that damn shredder gauntlet my boy 😭, I was in love with them for small time but I reverted back to my original loadout but I love to see how you commit to them as a mainstay in your kit 👌🏾💯. Thanks again too for uploading this revamped loadout and coil video 🙏🏾.
@@ArktixOfficial I found out a new technique or so I think lol 😅 since I've NEVER seen anyone do it but I found out if you go into a sprint after a slide and you immediately tap square again you can get a slight speed boost that'll cancel the slide animation but zoom the camera as if you did that's actually helpful as hell in any situation plus somehow if you take damage she won't fall it's like super armor but idk if it'll happen for every attack. Try it and if you get the hang of it you can continuously do it and throw it in a tips vid 👌🏾💯, I'd upload it in a hunting clip myself but you'll reach more people quicker tbh 💪🏾.
Interesting. I assume you mean “go into a slide after a sprint”? I think I’ve seen what you’re talking about, but I didn’t realize there was a way to make it happen consistently. I’ll have to try it out. Thanks for sharing the tip!
I am so proud of you for using the (in my opinion) perfect coil setup for the Ancestor's Return! -Phosphoras Also: the sharpshot bows have a best average damage/shot when you use 3x Crit chance and 2x of any 25% damage bonus coil. I did the calculations and ended up with this setup.
Haha of course Phos. I learned from the shredder grandmaster himself 😉 And good point. Yes, that is the optimal average max damage coil set for a legendary SS bow. However, it assumes your shots will always happen at least 30m from a machine to take advantage of the long range coils. I find I often take shots closer than that, so I prefer the versatility of the full crit coil set.
One of the Rare Spike Throwers has insane damage. If you freeze the opponent first, then start chunking drill spikes at it, the machine will literally be staggered until you finish it off.
I love loading up my ancestor's return with 5 purple long-range coils. The shredder can travel a surprisingly long range fully charged and I love essentially snipping big enemies where I am so far away it only triggers the suspicious icon.
@@ArktixOfficial I just tried out your suggestion of putting crit coils on the sniper bow.. freaking awesome. Never going back to anything else. Thanks for the tip
Awesome! Yeah I really like the crit build on a Sharpshot Bow. I don’t want to deal with always being 30m away or in stealth. Nah. Give me an 80% chance for a crit in any situation 😁 Glad you’re liking that 👍
All with purple coils or blue when needed, I've came up with an alternative build similar to this: Sun Scourge with 3 frost coils+ 2 overdraw, Tears of Land-God with 3 component tear+ 1 overdraw+1 concentration, Iriv's bow with 1 stealth+ 4 crit chance, Elite ropecaster with 3 draw speed, Blastforge with 1 reload+ 1 close range+ 3 impact damage, Final chapter with 4 shocked enemy damage+ 1damage over time, Ancestors Return with 4 agility+ 1 concentration. Nora thunder with weapon stamina+ along with low profile/smoke bomb capacity 💜
For what it is worth, here is my load out: Ancestor's Return - 5 Agility Coils Tear of Land God - 5 component tear coils Carja Bane - 5 instant brittle coils Elite RopeCaster - 3 reload coils for penetrating rope technique Vindicator Spike Thrower - 3 Melee-Follow Up coils BlastForge - 5 Close Range Coils. I tend to swap out my Vindicator for a fully critical coiled Iriv' downfall when the situation calls for it. I also don't use cleanse or health potions as my playstyle involves I never getting hit in the first place. I use 5 stamina potions, 4 overdraw, 5 food-items and 12 smoke bombs.
Agree with you on the adhesive boltblaster being annoying tbh. I just changed back to the blast forge a couple of days back, i think in general the perks are a bit better too as you get a nice draw speed bump and crit chance
Nice video btw. My loadout is currently: -Tears of the land god (concentration, tear etc) - Blast forge (mainly all crit mods) - Ancestors return (tear and shock boost) - Irivs downfall (sharpshot tear boost, tear boost etc - Rain of sparks (all impact mods) - Sun Scourge (mix elemental boost mods) When doing rebel camps I switch to a forgefall with mainly stealth boost mods, tinkers tripcaster with explosive boost mods & equip stealth stalker + utaru winterweave outfit
Nice! Yeah I was thinking maybe I should have talked about my favorite Weapon Techniques, Valor Surges, and other alternative weapons for things like rebel camps (I use Regalla's Wrath for the strikethrough arrows myself). The video would have gotten pretty long though lol 😅
@@ArktixOfficial +1 for Regalla's Wrath being a rebel wrecker. Don't discount it's utility for heavily armored machines like Rollerbacks. Coil it with a few crit boosts and it can devastate even big machines with the right valor surge. It's quite a bit more resource efficient than the legendary Sharpshot bows (spikes are easy to farm or purchase) which was important while I was farming upgrade components. I'm a fan! Once you get to a point where you have a huge stockpile of Volatile Sludge, it's easy to replace it with Iriv's Downfall.
Regarding the bolt blaster ranges. I tested both of them because I was deciding which one will be my main DPS. I found out that on sustain burst mode, blast forge has 40m max range while brawlbraker has 45m. Also, I found out the definition of “30m” for coils stands for the distance between your position and the landing point instead of the center point of the machine. What this means is that you need to tilt your weapon a bit to hit the farther part of the machine when damage is only hitting 200~400 with all buffs on.
@@ArktixOfficial I kill a machine on the campfire first (took me a few tries), then I get a distance measure. The rest is just position and testing. In case you wonder how do I determine I land the hit or not, I paid attention to the sparks bolts make when hitting the body of machine. Ps: your video really helped me a lot! I’m surprised when I realized we are doing the same coil on Irev and ancestor’s return
Ah ok. That’s interesting the Brawlbreaker has a little more range. I’ll have to check that out. Glad you found this helpful too! That’s cool we’re using the same coils on Iriv’s and the AR 😄
I maxed out the spinthorn as soon as i got it and i havn't even thought about swapping it out of my loadout. That knockdown power is essential when harvesting machine parts, especially on ultra hard. Been waiting on this video pal, great stuff 👍
Still really useful videos! Thank you Arktix. You've made me utilise all weapons equally now, compared to my rather boring Hunter Bow for close range, Sharpshot for long range-setup..
Your videos are great, I am surprised you don't have a warrior bow in your line up especially the new one thats OP. But still great... can't wait for the DLCs!
@@ArktixOfficial dude me too, I didn't touch the warrior bows period on my first playthrough but when they came out with UH and I learned about how OP it is ... I can't not use it. But again love your weapon setup, the spike thrower shocked me and surprised no legendary had drill spikes as well.
Yo Finally the video is here🥳🥳 Thank you for this bro😄 As I've now finally upgraded all the 9 Legendary Weapons and 2 of my favourite outfits to the MAX level(Nora Thunder Warrior & Tenakth Vanquisher, man it was a long grind ngl lol) Soon I'm gonna start my New Game+ Ultra Hard walkthrough and this video's gonna help me a lot as I know Ultra Hard will be a challenge that's why I need a perfect loadout🥶
Awesome! Nice work upgrading all your gear! It is definitely a grind. I hope you have fund in NG+, and don't forget about my NG+ weapon upgrade spreadsheet if you want to farm resources before starting!
@@ArktixOfficial No problem I already have your spreadsheet downloaded🙂 Honestly I love to grind resources & just need a few resources not too much for upgrading NG+ legendary weapons😅
This is awesome. Haven't played in a few weeks, this just might make me start it up again. And then realize I am nowhere near as good as you. But hey, it's all about the fun, right?
THANK SO MUCH! Thanks to you, Chang and Bluesclues for all your hardwork! I'm extremely flattered with myself that I experimented with the all crit sharpshot, as well as we both love Thunder Warrior... I almost feel like a real gamer lol! Thanks again Arktix for your videos and work. I wish I could get the hang of shredders even remotely as well as you have... my toopidness kicks in and I am either running around jumping and throwing shredders long after I've hit the ground, or my epic attempt at sprinting into a slide----- ...turns into a crouch. And THEN I throw a shredder for good measure. lol WHY do I have more trouble with giant snapping turtles?!! (SOMEone in Guerilla accidentally lived in the South instead of Scandinavia, to know how evil those critters are in real life) ...babbling sorry. Anyway thank you again so very much, you're always such a wonderful one-stop shop! I'm going to give + another round again, I WANT THAT CONCENTRATION coil dang it... that's very evil of them lol. It's incredible how quickly you got this put together for us, thanks again. Best wishes Arktix, it's always a pleasure. Be safe everyone! Good luck!
Lol thanks Antje 😂 I’ll try to make sure I have better ideas for videos than that, but good to know you’re there for whatever 😄👍 I hope this helps with your NG+!
@@ArktixOfficial Yeah, I'm sure this is weird, but you sound a bit like a friend in the PNW I haven't seen since the pandemic (I'm in Germany). Match that with the game taking place on the west coast, I can pretend I'm there for a while. That's nice.
I LOVE my Spinthorn Spike Thrower after watching your previous videos on it! It's such an awesome feeling whipping it out and knocking over a machine that's busting my a** with its annoying attacks. I also started using the Tenakth Vanquisher with its incredible boost to low health defense and damage output. It's just.. wow! My heart was in my throat when I tested it out though, because my left thumb had a permanent position over the d-pad up medicine button until then. Now I've had to un-learn not to heal myself because the damage boost it gives is insane and you're almost unkillable. I coil it with +2 Stamina Regen and +2 Low Health Regen. Oh, and I use it with Brittle state and the Blastforge. Bye healthbar!! * evil laugh* I just started my NG+, like so fresh I haven't gotten to Chainscrape yet. Maybe I should go back and farm first.. hmm. My aim for my NG+ though, is to try out agility damage and shredders. The playthrough I just finished (my first) I ended up using my Sunshot Hunter Bow alot because I like to use Acid and the bow has a builtin +25% corroding Enemy Damage. I coil it with two +18% corroding enemy damage and on +12. I tried the other Hunter Bows you've talked about in previous videos, but kept coming back to this because I also like the built in +40% draw speed. Thunderjaws and Stormbirds don't like this build very much though, because they just drops dead. 😁 Anyway, just a very enthusiastic thank you from me.
Hey thanks Thunderella! Glad to hear you're enjoying the Spinthorn! I love those knockdowns too 😄 That's cool you made the shift to a low health build as well. I played with it for a while, but I just kept gravitating back to the Thunder Warrior. The low health build is definitely very strong though! That's a pretty cool setup you have with the Sunshot. That's a great bow and it sounds like you're doing a great job taking advantage of it's perks for a unique build. I can imagine Tjaws and Stormbirds wouldn't like it 😁 Thanks for your comment!
I like using the Spinthorn myself as well. Firstly for roleplaying reasons, as it is a weapon Aloy's constructs herself after gathering the components. Secondly because of the drillspikes and knockdown mechanics. I hardly ever use explosive spikes anyway, preferring to get my boom from sticky bombs.
Amazing videos bro!! Since i’ve found your channel I started to play again to try new weapons and different play styles. Still strugling with AR but having a lot of fun
Great video as always! Haven't given shredders a go yet but you've convinced me haha. Any plans on covering other games as they come out? You create great content and would crush it covering any other games you enjoy.
Hey thanks Rizzle! I hope you give shredders a try. They have a learning curve, but it’s very rewarding! And yes, I’m planning on covering GoW: Ragnarok when it comes out in November and then in early 2023 I’m looking forward to Forespoken and Hogwarts Legacy!
I like to add melee followup to my boltblasters, if im planning on freezing i just freeze > light > sustained burst. It speeds up the draw time essentially to instant, and the followup coil boosts are very high. Seems to last the entire sustained burst too meaning its a perfect match. Sometimes i use the light > heavy (hold) to do the jump back for distance if i want to burst from further away.
Hey nice tip! I had never thought about the fact that a melee hit would give you the quick draw draw speed boost on a boltblaster. And you’re right that MFU coils are really strong. I’ll have to give that a try!
Thanks for yet another brilliant video ArkTix. I can't blame you for leaving The Final Chapter Shredder out of your essential/ultimate loadout. It is an okay weapon, but it just doesn't cut (pun intended)
Haha nice pun 😉 And yeah, I’m still trying to figure out if I can work it in, but I just always miss whatever weapon I swap it for. Currently trying it in place of the Spinthorn. I’ll see how it goes…
I'm just going to start copying and pasting my comments from all of your previous videos since this always applies.... Amazing video! Hands down the best Horizon content out there! :)
One thing I hope they return whenever a new dlc comes for HFW is the icerail gun. I've been toying with that weapon in HZD and my goodness it's absolutely lethal and fun when built right. Maybe they can return ice rail, storm slinger, and forge fire and combine them as one. But icerail is what I want them to return c: Could be a good replacement for my sharpshot bow for pure damage. My AR can do all the tearing components so I kinda don't need tear blast arrows.
Ooo nice idea! That would be really cool. I'd want the Icerail to use less resources though. In HZD that thing burned through chilwater like crazy! lol
The trick to get the concentration 15% coil from the scorcher is to save the last bit of its health for up close (like a warrior bow) and then you can immediately loot it before the cut scene interrupts
Cool vid. Yeah, I'm over the Adhesive perk on the Brawlbreaker also. However, I like having both explosive damage and drill spikes, so the Vindicator continues to be the way to go for me...pretty much rendering blast slings obsolete. But I hear you.
Nice! Yeah the Vindicator is great if you want both drill spikes and explosive in your loadout. And yeah, that adhesive perk on the Brawlbreaker is super annoying lol
Arktix you said hunter bows aren’t really that good for impact damage , but I have a load out for you to try out , so we use 5 long range coils on TLG , Nora thunder warrior armour , And ranged master as valor surge and we also use the sun scourge for freeze , Pls try this out ❤️
Thanks! I'll give that a try! That same build on a Sharpshot Bow would be higher damage, but I'm curious to see how much damage you could put out with a Hunter Bow like this.
Hey guys; I'm new to this game, but I found that if you start a New Game Plus, you can follow just the story all the way to when you get the base, once you have the base and your told to meet your friend by the exit, you talk and everybody does their thing, you can climb the mountain behind you and override a Sunwing. You may have to have all your Infiltrator skills. This makes doing all the side mission a lot of fun.
Ah yeah, so a mix like that is technically higher max average damage, but it assumes you'll always be 30+ meters from your target for the long range coils to kick in. I find I take shots closer than that pretty frequently, so I like the flexibility of the full crit build.
Hey thanks! Glad my videos have helped you out 😄 I haven’t changed my loadout much, though I have switched to the Vindicator instead of the Spinthorn. The knocked is still good enough, plus the drill spikes will deal more damage and you get some decent explosive spikes.
Yet another huge help from you thank you!! Ng+ ultra hard with your duplication video to prep for it has me wondering if you had all the coils and weave you ever needed how would you setup the weapons and armor you mentioned I’ve been experimenting on my own based on your quides and so far going from easy most of the time 😂cuz I’m lazy to ng+ ultra hard is not as hard as I though thanks to you! Btw you don’t have to Answer that I know I’m late to the game and your videos have been my bible just a wondering what people have come up with since
Hey thanks! Glad you’ve been finding my videos helpful 😄 My coil recommendations are mostly the same as what I show in this video. Come on over to my discord if you want to discuss in more detail. Link in description.
Hi. My name is Gregg, and I'm an AR abuser. There is no other way to fight Tiderippers, Leaplashers, Long Legs, and Tremortusks, IMO. I'm going to have to try your Agility Coil loadout. It sounds fun.
@@ArktixOfficial I'm getting there on the agility coils. It would be nice if Alloy could jump higher, but your tip on activating concentration first works well when I get the timing down.
Always great information! Thanks! I"m definitely gonna need that PDF with the map picture cuz I give up whenever I'm directed to a location with the location's name. 'Thorn Marsh? Where's that? Nvm. I give up! 😒'
Hey thanks! Glad you’re enjoying my content 😄 I have a whole video on Shredder Gauntlets and there’s a section where I run through the best ones! Check it out: ua-cam.com/video/0ysjKJ4jtCU/v-deo.html
After the bearning shors dlc you can replace the blue spike thrower and the elite rope caster with the legendry spike thrower and the legendry rope caster
Ah ok. I have a series of videos on that. They’re a bit outdated, but I’d mostly recommend the same things now. Ultimately, you can unlock all the skills. The Hunter and Survivor skills are most important at the start. Also infiltrator to some degree.
4:10 - Hello. Thank you so much for the awesome videos, I have subscribed to your channel. I am still playing the game and look forward to completing it soon. I was wondering if you could please take a moment to answer a quick question about your armor here at the 4:10 mark. Is that the Carja Stalker Elite armor? I can't figure out which dye color you are using because it does not show up for me. Could you please tell me which armor and dye you are using? Thank you so much and I look forward to your reply!
Hey thanks a lot for your sub! 😄 I appreciate it! You're right that I have the Carja Stalker Elite armor on, but the dye is called Burnished Sun and it's only available in New Game+. Unfortunately, all the orange/gold themed dyes are NG+ exclusives.
@@ArktixOfficial Thanks so much for the reply! That’s what I figured. I am nearly done with the game and almost about to get my platinum, so I’ll start a NG+ as soon as I finish. Thanks again and have a great weekend!
I still think Forgefall with all all 5 crit coils is better than Iriv's Downfall. The fact that you are hitting aware enemies means you need draw speed before the enemy starts charging at you. The impact damage is almost same but draw speed is useful unless you are in stealth
Okay I think my best build ,based off your information, are: Death Seeker hunter bow Final chapter Ivrs Downfall sharpshot bow Defiance Specter gauntlet And new game plus warrior bow (which will have an instant coil) I chose these because these are great combat weapons for upfront combat And also my armour is the Nora thunder warrior Edit i changed the death seeker for the emperors reign cuz its alot better for tearing parts
Thanks again for another banger. If you have time, quick question. You tout agility coils fairly often. I find myself passing on them on most weapons. But I'm intrigued. When you jump and aim you go into a default slow time animation. Does this count as concentration in your opinion? I mean because that would be agility and concentration being used at the same time. So coiling a weapon that way could be powerful if it is. And you mention this in your part of Ancestor's Return. Want to make sure I understand that correctly.
Thanks! And good question! No, the slow motion that occurs when you aim (press L2) while jumping or sliding is not concentration. That’s part of the Quick Draw mechanic and it doesn’t count as concentration. You can use agility and concentration at the same time though. You have to actually press the right stick to trigger it like normal though.
@@ArktixOfficial Ahh thank you. Wanted to make sure I understood that. I am going to have to start practicing using concentration and agility together. Your vids have been incredibly helpful. On my second NG+ and very hard is a piece of cake using weapons styled from your vids.
Nice! Glad you’ve been finding them helpful 😄 When you try concentration and agility together, I suggest triggering concentration first and then jumping. If sliding, you’ll have to slide first and then trigger concentration. Hope that helps 👍
If u like leveraging knockdowns check out the built in perks on the carjas bane wb and legacys reach sh, the sh being the superior choice due to the nature of explosion damage inherently causing knockdowns much easier
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful. For most of this video, I had the Carja Stalker Elite look applied with the orange dye. You can only get the orange dye in NG+ though.
I just started my ng+ play through on very hard (I’m not brave enough to try ultra hard yet lol), but I’m trying to work my way up to being to take on ultra hard. This loadout looks like it’ll help a lot. Also, do you have a favorite ng+ legendary? I’ve always loved using sharpshot bows so the new legendary sharpshot was my first purchase once I got enough tokens.
As long as you have decent armor and weapons ultra hard really isnt that bad. In fact I didn’t die then entire playthrough, only the last boss gave me a trouble - used up all my berries and most of potions but I think that was mainly due to my bad planning. It’s far from being as hard as I thought it would be, sure machines are more aggressive but having plenty of resistance and using things like the toughened valor surge still make it pretty easy.
lol me too, in the middle of my Very Hard, doing quite well compared to what I expected, all thanks to Arktix and his crew! And for me I'm right there with you, Iriv's Downfall is a BEAST, and I love it! I wish you the very best of luck in your run!
@@wren7195 thanks! I’ll probably bump it up to ultra later on once I’ve upgraded my gear a bit more (I forgot to do it before starting my ng+ and now I’m stuck with my poor choices until I open up the open world😄).
I’ve gone through a few games so I have a ton of Damage over Time coils on my Ancestor’s Return. Is a setup of 5 Damage over Time coils optimal for the shredder gauntlet? Love your content and keep up the great work!
Thanks Jack! And good question. I discuss the optimal shredder coils more in my shredder master class video, but in short, you don’t want to use DoT only because they only boost the DoT damage ticks. They won’t boost the impact damage, which is the larger amount of damage. DoT damage ticks are based on the initial impact damage number by default, so it’s best to boost the base impact damage. That way you’ll get a bigger initial amount of damage and the DoT ticks will be boosted too. Hope that helps!
I would like to add to Arktix Answer. Damage Over Time Coils can work on the Ancestor´s Return (and Final Chapter), even though very well, but one needs to be aware of the following: a) Grind time is important, you need obviously the DoT ticks b) Catching also becomes more important c) You need to be precise enough with shredders, hitting weakspots. That´s because you put all the versatility in the DoT Ticks, which still gives good tear, element build up and Damage, but the tearblast at the end will be less and the single hits will be nearly useless. The very good stats (component tear, agility, concentration) really helps, as does the 5 coil slots. But it work less good with fewer coil slots (like the three on the sunhawk). But if you manage all that, then yes, right now (elemental is bugged) can outperform the 15% coil set up.
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful 😄 And good question. I coil mine with stealth and long range coils since I really only use it for rebel camps. Crit coils could work too, but you only have 3 slots, so it won’t be as good as the crit coil build I described for Iriv’s Downfall. Hope that helps!
Hey, thanks for another great video. But I have one question. Are u sure all percent stats in game are FLAT? I mean if using 5 +15% crit chance coils on snapshot bow, you get clear 80%(4 out 5 hits must be crit then) or maybe game using some percent decreaces for random stats like that?
Thank you! Good question. Yes, I believe the the percents are in fact flat. However, it gets confusing when you start stacking multiple damage boosting affects because some are additive while others multiply. It can also be a little confusing because the game rounds to whole numbers (ie you can hit 100.5, it will show as 101). I talk about these issues a bit in my world record damage video. However, in this case with the crit chance coils, you simply add them all together to get the total crit chance. That being said, 80% doesn’t mean you literally hit 4 crits and then the 5th with be normal and then the next 4 will be crits again. It’s an 80% chance every time. In other words, you’re “rolling the dice” on every shot.
So I came back to the game after taking a break because I heard about the new 40fps mode, i briefly played last year. I selected a new save on ultra hard. Was this a stupid decision? I've made it to the town past chainscrape and it's super hard. Should I quit and restart on a lower difficulty because I don't know if I'm biting off more than I can chew.
Ah that’s quite a challenge! It depends how frustrated you are I’d say. I think you’re past most of the hardest part (the beginning), so you could continue on and it will get easier as you get better gear and level it up. But if you’re not having fun then it might be better to go back to your old save and do a NG+
Hi arktix I am a huge fan and I had an idea for the game so you know that there are machine convoys but what about a new convoy rebel convoy with a rebel tremortusk and rebel clawstriders and al few rebel can you plz make a vid about this thank and plz keep up the good work thank
Hi! Glad you like my content 😄 And cool idea! I want to do a video at some point on ideas to make the game better. I’ll add this one to my list for that!
Good question. I’ve explained it in other videos, but didn’t here. So component tear is specifically for removing components while regular tear damage coils will also boost tear damage when hitting armor plates. So regular tear damage coils are slightly more versatile, but have a lower maximum stat. Component tear coils having a higher max stat (25%), but the boost only applies when hitting components. Hope that helps!
To add to Arktix Answers. Component Tear dosn´t increase tear damage vs armor, normal tear does. Weapons count as component and are affected by componennt tear.
Yes! I hope so too. Also, I have a hunch the elusive Digsite merchant is also supposed to sell a 15% concentration coil, but that’s currently bugged too. The merchant is only available very briefly and has the exact same inventory as Abudund in Hidden Ember, which is weird.
Here is the weapon wheel I use Two sniper bow one for damage and one for component removing (I have a third with 5 stealth damage that I can use to start the fight but immediatly swap after first shot). I don't use these bow much because arrows are expensives. Two Hunter bow (main use) 1) for tear damage to get the machine "naked" 2) with 4 critical chance and one immediate frost for even more damage I also have a third with fast reload for huges machines that needs 20k damage to the body so I can do more dps. One drill spike spike thrower with only damage over time coils (purples and blues). I use it mainly when the target is frozen to deal x2 damages and take advantage of the knockdown chances. One "free slot" that I equip depending on what I have to do next. Could be - the 5-frost-coil-hunter-bow - a hunter bow with 3 upground coins - a hunter bow with 5 coils against flying creatures...
UPDATE: As of patch 1.18, the 15% Concentration Coil glitch is fixed! You can now loot it after the cut scene, so no need to try and loot it super fast anymore!
Hey I have a question are there new game plus armor sets I keep trying to find a video covering this and I can't find anything
@@sukuna6749 There are not. The only new Armour Sets come from the Burning Shores DLC.
No just weapons @@sukuna6749
Even though I didn't know what I was missing at the time, I still remember that moment in Kotallo's quest where I kill that scorcher and I walk over to get the loot, only to be interrupted by that cutscene. I was all "no worries, I'll just loot it when the cut scene is done" womp womp. then months later I find out that loot contained a once-a-playthrough coil GRRR
Ah yeah. That pesky coil! It’s got to be a glitch the way it’s working now. I can imagine they’d put a great coil like that in the game and then give you 0.5 seconds to loot it lol
Took me 7 reloads to get it before the cutscene. Luckily the auto save is right at the scorcher fight segment.
Nice you got it! Yeah it's really annoying lol
Finding about this during new game plus is slightly depressing, but on a positive note there is always next time.
Thanks for making these videos! Playing Horizon Forbidden West is even more enjoyable for me because of the content you create.
Hey thanks a lot Laurens! 🥳 I'm glad to hear my videos have helped you enjoy the game more 😄 Thanks so much for your support! 🙏
Little tip for anyone that doesn’t know about it:
As far as I’m aware the only way to get a purple +15% concentration damage coil is during the side mission where kotallo tests his new arm. You have to kill the machine and immediately loot it before the cutscene starts to get the coil. I recommend making a backup save just before you do it as the timing is sometimes tricky. I’m currently on a 3rd and probs final playthrough so I’ll be able to get a 3rd one of these.
Edit: I shudda watched the vid before posting this lol oh well it may help still
Thanks for the summary Calum! Yeah a did mention it briefly, but it's good to have a comment here explaining it as well.

Subscribed.

This is my first UH playthrough ever. Never did it on any games ive played. Your videos are really helping me, so THANK YOU so much for this!
So much of the content I find on this game is on lower difficulties and basically useless if you play on very/ultra hard. This content is very helpful.

Perfect, finished my normal 100 percent run, almost done with my easy get all the champion tokens run, and will be starting my uh run probably next week. Perfect timing
Nice! You'll be geared up nicely for NG+ UH! Glad you found this helpful 😄
Thanks!
Hey thanks a lot! 🥳 Glad you found this helpful. I really appreciate your support! 🙏😄
Thanks so much for this tutorial. Changed my load out to mostly match yours and I was able to kill a Thunderjaw so quickly. The high critical hit chance on Iriv’s Downfall helped a TON.
Awesome! Glad to hear this helped you out 😄 Gotta love that crit build!
@@ArktixOfficial One thing I’m noticing is that I think it might also be boosting Iriv’s Downfall’s chance of getting an instant shocked state. I’ve been getting a lot of instant shocks since I switched to the critical chance hit build.
Oh interesting thought…I haven’t noticed that myself, but it’s possible I suppose…
@@ArktixOfficial Yeah. There’s a good chance that I’m just getting lucky but here’s hoping 🤞🏼
Another super helpful video from the master of the Horizon guides 👌 I really hope we get instant shock coils and instant berserk coils in the DLC and maybe a coil that increases damage to machines in the berserk state would be cool.
Thanks HoldingCell! I like the instant shock and berserk coil ideas! That would be pretty cool.
DS with 5x stealth to do 193 damage normaly
SS with 5x fire/acid. If you have the instant coils you can put them on a normal arrow hunter bow with your desired element (I use acid) and just keep hitting them from a unreachable spot until it triggers (I have got once 6 in a row)
Fire hunter bow to trigger canisters cheaply.
The old legendary sharp shot bow with 5x crit to fire at weak points when everything is teared off (remember you can hit eyes for more damage)
And the new sharp shot with 5x long range coils. I only use this when my power shot is in use as I get 5 free (not free if using weapon arts) shots that do more then a crit, did 7000 even damage on a turtle’s kinetic dynamo (which can be hit without removing shell bolts) it has long range so that it’s useful in boss battles.
This play style requires patients, maneuverability and very little resources (seriously I have like 1700+ crystal braiding and almost 3000 volatile sludge)
Recommend utaru winter weave for everything except close combat, use Nora thunder warrior then.
Nice tips! Thanks for sharing this build for everyone to consider!
Woah, I did not know about that Scorcher coil!!! As I sink deeper into UH the challenge is beginning to show, it definitely feels a bit more tricky than it did back in HZD (Which I love). So, as always, thanks for the tips!
Ah yeah that Concentration coil is tricky! Very useful though. Glad you found this helpful!
Man you're the only content creator keeping me interested about this game! learning about so much different weapons and playstyles made me pickup the game again. I'm going to grind like crazy with the sheet you linked in the description to try this awesome loadout of yours, thanks a lot for doing these videos man! we appreciate you :)
Awesome! Glad to hear my content has inspired you to have more fun in the game 😄 I hope you enjoy your NG+ weapons when you get them!
Perfect timing. I just started new game+ on ultra hard. Thanks for making this.
Awesome! I hope you find these tips helpful. Enjoy NG+ UH!
Haha! I love those shredders 🤪 Glad you enjoyed them for a bit. And glad you like this vid!
@@ArktixOfficial As always big dawg 💪🏾, keep up the good content we appreciate you 🙏🏾💯.
Thanks!
Great video as always, did not expected anything else.
Thank you! Glad you liked it 😄
I am so proud of you for using the (in my opinion) perfect coil setup for the Ancestor's Return!
-Phosphoras
Also: the sharpshot bows have a best average damage/shot when you use 3x Crit chance and 2x of any 25% damage bonus coil.
Shredder Lord 🙏
@@honest_cake Oh no.... The order has breached into the UA-cam comment section.
"Back you fiends, BACK!" *Shoving them back down into the Discord Server* 😂
@@ArktixOfficial Get back! I'll distract them. *Throws shredder at the server* "Ancestors! Catch it!"

One of the Rare Spike Throwers has insane damage. If you freeze the opponent first, then start chunking drill spikes at it, the machine will literally be staggered until you finish it off.
Sprinkle some Powershot on top of it and maybe some Low Health Ranged.
Arktix dude thank you so much for answering my question from the last video and making a video of it 🔝🔝🔝
No problem! I was getting lots of requests for this all around!
I love loading up my ancestor's return with 5 purple long-range coils. The shredder can travel a surprisingly long range fully charged and I love essentially snipping big enemies where I am so far away it only triggers the suspicious icon.
Nice! Yeah Shredders can go really far. I bet you can do some good damage with it loaded up with long range coils!
Nice build! Thanks for sharing it 👍🏼
For what it is worth, here is my load out:
Ancestor's Return - 5 Agility Coils
Tear of Land God - 5 component tear coils
Carja Bane - 5 instant brittle coils
Elite RopeCaster - 3 reload coils for penetrating rope technique
Vindicator Spike Thrower - 3 Melee-Follow Up coils
BlastForge - 5 Close Range Coils.
Nice loadout!
Agree with you on the adhesive boltblaster being annoying tbh. I just changed back to the blast forge a couple of days back, i think in general the perks are a bit better too as you get a nice draw speed bump and crit chance
Lol yeah I can stand that instant adhesive! The Blast Forge works just find for me 👌
thank you for the loadout and i've been looking for a loadout that matches me for the past month
Nice video btw. My loadout is currently:
-Tears of the land god (concentration, tear etc)
- Blast forge (mainly all crit mods)
- Ancestors return (tear and shock boost)
- Irivs downfall (sharpshot tear boost, tear boost etc
- Rain of sparks (all impact mods)
- Sun Scourge (mix elemental boost mods)
When doing rebel camps I switch to a forgefall with mainly stealth boost mods, tinkers tripcaster with explosive boost mods & equip stealth stalker + utaru winterweave outfit
If you have enough spare crit chance 15% coils there would be no reason to not fill the rain of sparks with them IMO.
@@ramonramos2055 might give it a try, I think I only have about 6 or 7 total though and at the minute I’m using at least 4 on boltblaster.
Yes good point!
Interesting! How were you able to test the distances so accurately?
@@ArktixOfficial I kill a machine on the campfire first (took me a few tries), then I get a distance measure. The rest is just position and testing. In case you wonder how do I determine I land the hit or not, I paid attention to the sparks bolts make when hitting the body of machine. Ps: your video really helped me a lot! I’m surprised when I realized we are doing the same coil on Irev and ancestor’s return

* evil laugh*
I just started my NG+, like so fresh I haven't gotten to Chainscrape yet. 😁
Anyway, just a very enthusiastic thank you from me.
Thank you! This is great to hear 😄 Glad my videos are helping you enjoy the game more!
That is good advice. MFU lasts about 6-7 seconds, and Sustained Burst iss 10 shots second + activation time.
Great video as always Arktix!! 🧡👏
Thanks Moses!
Appreciate this. You’ve made the game so much fun for me 😊
Awesome! Happy to hear that 😄 I’m always looking to help people enjoy the game more 😁
this is very helpful. you put so much effort in ur videos!
Thank you! I do put a lot of time into them. Glad you found it helpful 😄
This video is an absolute masterpiece! Thanks!
Wow thanks! Glad you liked it 😄
I'm just going to start copying and pasting my comments from all of your previous videos since this always applies....
Amazing video! Hands down the best Horizon content out there! :)
Haha thanks Brian 😄 That's totally good with me 👍
As always great video! Honestly, I was using shredder all time. Too strong weapon
Thanks! And yes, I also heavily really on my shredders 😄
In HZD that thing burned through chilwater like crazy! lol
Don't have anything to say, just wanted to support the channel👍
Thanks! I appreciate that 😄
My guy. Awesome video as always.
Thanks Matthew! I appreciate you always commenting 🙂
I'm never far away from your content and socials Arktix. Your a credit to content creation
Haha thanks Matthew 😄 Glad to have you as part of this community 👍
The trick to get the concentration 15% coil from the scorcher is to save the last bit of its health for up close (like a warrior bow) and then you can immediately loot it before the cut scene interrupts
Yes! Thanks for sharing that tip!
Luckily it seems to have been fixed after the latest patch, played that quest again in ng+ a week ago and i could pick up the coil post-cutscene.
Thanks again for all the help
No problem! Glad you're finding my content helpful!
I love having a really good load out, and you helped me a lot
@@ArktixOfficial I think It does around 3k damage with high volley and 1k with triple notch
A critical hit from Irv's Downfall with this build and archer's ultimate ability is the highest damage on single shot you can achieve in the game
That´s correct, in NG+ you just need to reach a Sunwing which at the mountain base is the earliest.
Yes! Glad you figured that out. Yeah you can totally grab a Sunwing above the Base as soon as you get there in NG+. Hope you’re enjoying the game! 😄
Did some math for Iriv's Downfall and average damage per shot peaks with 2 critical hit chance and 3 long range damage coils.
Ah yeah, so a mix like that is technically higher max average damage, but it assumes you'll always be 30+ meters from your target for the long range coils to kick in. I find I take shots closer than that pretty frequently, so I like the flexibility of the full crit build.
LOVE your videos man it has helped me alot i just have a question : has there been any changes to your loadout from the time you posted this video?
Haha nice! Me too 😄 And yeah give the agility coils a try!
Nvm. I give up! 😒'
Thanks! Glad you liked it! And oh yes, thanks for reminding me about the coil farming guide and PDF. They're linked now!
So what shredder gauntlet would you definitively recommend? Love your videos and all the hard work you put in
Hey thanks! Glad you’re enjoying my content 😄 I have a whole video on Shredder Gauntlets and there’s a section where I run through the best ones! Check it out:

Love yo thanks for these smart builds ❤
I got the 15 concentration coil the first time through because I'm a goblin when it comes to looting. XD
Wow nice!
After the bearning shors dlc you can replace the blue spike thrower and the elite rope caster with the legendry spike thrower and the legendry rope caster
Love this, I’m brand new but going to use this. My only question I have is this.
What skills do you use and select.
Thanks! Glad you found this helpful 😄 Are you asking about weapon techniques or skills?
@@ArktixOfficial skills like what tree you go down etc
Ah ok. I have a series of videos on that. They’re a bit outdated, but I’d mostly recommend the same things now. Ultimately, you can unlock all the skills. The Hunter and Survivor skills are most important at the start. Also infiltrator to some degree.
Great video
Thanks!
Of course! Congrats on finishing the game and getting your platinum soon! Have fun in New Game+ with the new dyes and face paints!
This is great 👍
Thanks!
Im rp building my Setup for my NG+ ultra hard game.
I want to get 100% on the game. So it will be realy usefull.
THX!
Hey thanks! Glad to hear you found this helpful 😁 Hope you have fun in NG+!
I still think Forgefall with all all 5 crit coils is better than Iriv's Downfall. The fact that you are hitting aware enemies means you need draw speed before the enemy starts charging at you. The impact damage is almost same but draw speed is useful unless you are in stealth
Good point. Personally, I don't find Iriv's Downfall too slow, but I can see how the Forgefall would help with that if you want a faster draw speed.
Hey, will you bring a new loadout when the dlc is there?
Okay I think my best build ,based off your information, are:
Death Seeker hunter bow
Final chapter
Ivrs Downfall sharpshot bow
Defiance
Specter gauntlet
And new game plus warrior bow (which will have an instant coil)
I chose these because these are great combat weapons for upfront combat
And also my armour is the Nora thunder warrior
Edit i changed the death seeker for the emperors reign cuz its alot better for tearing parts
@@ArktixOfficial Very much so. Thank you again.
No problem!
If u like leveraging knockdowns check out the built in perks on the carjas bane wb and legacys reach sh, the sh being the superior choice due to the nature of explosion damage inherently causing knockdowns much easier
Love your videos
Thank you!
Awesome video! Thanks for all the tips and information. Do you mind sharing the name of armour in this video? :)
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful. For most of this video, I had the Carja Stalker Elite look applied with the orange dye. You can only get the orange dye in NG+ though.
@@ArktixOfficial thank you so much :)
Also I reckon the hunter & sharpshot are probs the main 2 to get first in ng+
@@calum769 yeah I’m definitely picking up totlg next, since I still don’t have a good purgewater bow in my loadout
@@wren7195 thanks! I’ll probably bump it up to ultra later on once I’ve upgraded my gear a bit more (I forgot to do it before starting my ng+ and now I’m stuck with my poor choices until I open up the open world😄).
Great video! What dye are you using for the Stalker Elite armor?
Thanks! So all the orange dyes comes from New Game+. You can buy them with champions tokens, which also come from New Game+.
Damage Over Time Coils can work on the Ancestor´s Return (and Final Chapter), even though very well, but one needs to be aware of the following:
a) Grind time is important, you need obviously the DoT ticks
b) Catching also becomes more important
c) You need to be precise enough with shredders, hitting weakspots.
I got it on my first play through. Which I'm just about to finish
What armour are you wearing in this video? I'm guessing you're using transmog? It looks really cool!
Hey great video as always man. Helped me out alot but i got one question. What coils should i use for Regallas Wrath?
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful 😄 And good question. I coil mine with stealth and long range coils since I really only use it for rebel camps. Crit coils could work too, but you only have 3 slots, so it won’t be as good as the crit coil build I described for Iriv’s Downfall. Hope that helps!
@@ArktixOfficial thank you brother. Appreciate your videos alot
No problem! Glad you find my content helpful 👍😄
@@ArktixOfficial i really do. Can't wait for the potential dlc to drop
Me too! I’m hoping it comes around Christmas time 🤞🏽
The Nora thunder with two elite low health ranged is crucial
me watching this video, knowing damn well that I won't play it again on ultra-hard
I love your content
Thank you! Glad you like it 😄
Hey, thanks for another great video.
Its possible to have every status effect equipped, with 1 slingshot and mostly purple bows.
Ty for the algorithm
What the difference between component tear and tear damage coils?
Good question. I’ve explained it in other videos, but didn’t here. So component tear is specifically for removing components while regular tear damage coils will also boost tear damage when hitting armor plates. So regular tear damage coils are slightly more versatile, but have a lower maximum stat. Component tear coils having a higher max stat (25%), but the boost only applies when hitting components. Hope that helps!
To add to Arktix Answers. Component Tear dosn´t increase tear damage vs armor, normal tear does. Weapons count as component and are affected by componennt tear.
Hopefully guerrilla will patch that cutscene nonsense so we can get the purple concentration coil.
Yes! I hope so too. Also, I have a hunch the elusive Digsite merchant is also supposed to sell a 15% concentration coil, but that’s currently bugged too. The merchant is only available very briefly and has the exact same inventory as Abudund in Hidden Ember, which is weird.
Here is the weapon wheel I use
Two sniper bow one for damage and one for component removing (I have a third with 5 stealth damage that I can use to start the fight but immediatly swap after first shot). I don't use these bow much because arrows are expensives.
Two Hunter bow (main use)
1) for tear damage to get the machine "naked"
2) with 4 critical chance and one immediate frost for even more damage
I also have a third with fast reload for huges machines that needs 20k damage to the body so I can do more dps.
One drill spike spike thrower with only damage over time coils (purples and blues). I use it mainly when the target is frozen to deal x2 damages and take advantage of the knockdown chances.
One "free slot" that I equip depending on what I have to do next.
Could be
- the 5-frost-coil-hunter-bow
- a hunter bow with 3 upground coins
- a hunter bow with 5 coils against flying creatures...
