Eddy Spaghetti A200s are definitely an icon of railroading. I like sounds that are beautiful and up-beat like the P7 and Mixed p5, I’ve loved the M5 since I was like 7 or 8, it’s a sad tune and reminds me that railroading is a dying job, and it’s vital for us rail-fans to document and record trains to saver the memory.
@@buzzytrains9037rs5t’s aren’t as good irl. They’re very nice, but I’d personally say they’re on par with a raised letter k5h. At least from my experience
Most diesels from different railroads such as the Penn Central have standard Nathan k5lla horns. When I'm up in Oregon with my mother, I hear the Nathan k5lla and the new cast Nathan P3 along with a Nathan raised letter k3la from either the Union Pacific or the Central Oregon and Pacific railroads
@@djtrainman2 nope, I only hear the Nathan new cast P3, the Nathan raised letter k3la and the Nathan k5lla from the Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad, which is the only railroad of its kind that I see in Oregon when I'm with my mom
For me, a K5 of any sort is solid, just not the best; a Nathan P of any sort is too harsh but a Nathan M is quite pleasant, and the Leslie RS3L is really nice.
@@roadrailsrunwaysofwny K5LA's are way too overrated and over used, they just sound like a regular plane Jane train horn and I don't understand what the big deal is about them. And p5s sound just like an m5.
That's a K5HLA, they do sound similar to K5LLAs. The difference is that the K5HLAs have an american tuned 4A bell and a 5 bell, with the bell sequence of 1L, 2, 3, 4A and 5. The K5LLA has a 3A, with the sequence of 1L, 1, 2, 3A and 4A.

Almighty Doge I really dig the Nathan K5la
Great video. So glad you labeled the horn types. In my perfect world only the A200 would be used! There are some runner ups.

doesn’t 1073 have a new horn?
because I caught it leading last month and its horn sounds different
Damn that mixed cast p5 sounded 🔥!! And the 80s k5la will always be one of the top dogs for sure.
Man, that PC heritage unit sounds badass!
Ofc before its horn got stolen
