Beautiful poetry penned by Altab Tashna Saab had found life in the soulful voice of the great Mehdi Hassan Saab! What a soulful and melodious rendition it was! What baffles one and all is the fact that whatever raga the great Mehdi Hassan Saab attempted during his lifetime, he could mould it into soothing and soulful ghazals with such perfection and finesse! There lies the greatness of this path breaking artist!
Those, who dislike this magnificent ghazal, may either have no music sense or they don't have a knack for good soulful music ! Because, under no stretch of imagination can this rendition of the great Mehdi Hassan Saab be treated as below par or substandard ! The style of gayiki of the great Khan Saab or for that matter, any other singer can't be bad simply because it doesn't suit the taste of a particular listener ! It's not fair to cast aspersions or pass any disparaging remark on something which is not within the grasp of someone or beyond someone's comprehension ! My humble advice to the nay sayers --- "If you don't like, kindly don't listen ! No one is under any sort of compulsion to listen" ! I have been collecting all the Ghazals (mostly classical ghair filmy) of the maestro since last 30 years (first on audio tape, then CDs and now from utube courtesy people like you). This one is new to me. I still have no idea how many he has sung and how many arwe not there in my collection. I still get pleasant surprises from fans of the Maestro like you!!
My evening rendezvous with the great Mehdi Hassan for hours on end through his divine creations has been continuing unabated ever since I came to know him in 1978. What a divine feeling it has been is difficult to express in words! It's giving me further sustenance and will to live! It seems, the great Mehdi Hassan Saab has become the part and parcel of every day life! I will remain indebtedl to him forever for this peerless gift!

What is even more gratifying was the fact that this master tactician had the credit of mastering almost all of 38 odd ragas through their deft handling and appropriate application in his divine creations ! The great Mehdi Hassan Saab had the distinction of making the most difficult of ragas -- viz., Raag Sahera, Darbari , to name a. few -- look pretty simple ! In doing so, the great Khan Saab had never ever compromised on the purity of ragas and had maintained absolute control over lafz, sur, taal, and loy all along throughout his glittering career spanning over almost six decades, as a singer of exceptional merit ! Perhaps, the great Khan Saab was the finest improvisation artist in the World Of Ghazal Gayiki !
