Here is a short time lapse video of Roger building a 52" Penny Farthing front wheel. This gives you a good idea how long it takes to build these wheels.
I really want to buy a Penny Farthing but I live in Western Canada does anyone know where one in decent condition could be found or better yet where I could purchase a brand new one???.
I've rebuilt numerous 700c and 27" wheels, but nothing this large. Very nice.
How tight are the spokes? I have a 48".
Love the video. What did you do for the final truing?
I was thinking the same. How do you true the wheel. Maybe once in the fork.
Thanks. Can you make a 60 inch high wheel?
Unfortunately, our rims only go up to 56" at the moment.
Could have made a stand / used bike Fork to hold the wheel ?? Sitting down for that amount of work !
Due to the size of the wheel we have found it easier to lace it outside of a stand. For truing the stand/fork is essential.
Where did you get the wheel from?

Thank you
Very cool, there should have been a clock somewhere (analog, of course) to see the time pass...
Thought that said "farting" wheel at first. haha
Maybe there was some "farting" going on and that's why they didn't have any sound to the video. ha!
haha
Ohh, I'd like to try build such wheel. The biggest wheel I was built is 29".

You can purchase one from us:

you should build a unicycle with one of these
Yes, agree, make a Uni with the 52"" Wheel.
You would need really long legs to ride it
Where can I buy the parts?

@@unicycledotcomuk it always says out of stock for the rims
@@benwallace4549 We do have some in stock now, but not all sizes, call to discuss. We should have some on the next container in May.
Can You Make Me A 45 Inch Wheel
Sorry no, but from 2024 we will have a 46" wheel version.
